My husband and I stayed at Simple Pleasures as part of our first anniversary celebration and it was such an awesome place to stay! The amenities were great, especially the hot tub and pool table! We got a lot of use out of both! We absolutely loved everything. The only thing that I would change is the check in and check out times. I am the type of person who wants to get every bit of my dollars worth in this economy. Check in time wasn't until 3pm and check out was 11am. I know that's how many hotels work, however with this being a cabin rental it would have been nice to have the same check in/out times or close to it anyway. Just kinda felt like we had to be out a little too early and couldn't get there until later. But Im sure it would be about the same with any other place! So other than that we loved the place and are already planning a second trip to Simple Pleasures!! I highly recommend Simple Pleasures to anyone looking for a romantic, rustic yet modern, sophisticated, cozy and classy place to celebrate any special occasion! You will not regret it and you will get FAR MORE than you pay for!!

Weekend in Helen

I rented this cabin for a relaxing Mother's Day weekend with my mother and step-father. We were pleased with our stay. This cabin is comfortable and quite accommodating. The furniture is mostly nice but some pieces are typical of rental property mixed and matched furniture. Some chairs were a bit worn and wobbly too. The cabin is private and tucked away in woods. If all was quiet, I could hear a babbling brook down in the distance below the cabin. The rental process was easy and the owner was attentive to my questions. Lastly, we spent quite a bit of time on the back deck. There is a good grill, tiki torches and a relaxing hot tub on the back deck. When we arrived to the cabin after working and driving all day we lifted the lid on the hot tub and it was on and hot. It was a great way to start the vacation. It was my FAVORITE part of the cabin. We will come back during the summer to do some tubing.

What an Awesome Cabin

Typically my wife and I choose to stay in hotels when we go to the mountains. Well after staying at Simple Pleasures that has totally changed. From the moment we drove up to the cabin we felt relaxed. The kids enjoyed playing games and sitting in the hot tub. My wife and also enjoyed the hot tub and relaxing in the sauna. I would highly recommend the cabin to anyone.

Last Minute Get Away

I was having a really rough week and needed a get-away... Belynda was super helpful and responsive. The cabin was exactly what we needed. It wasn't too far away from home but just far and secluded enough. The sauna and hot tub were perfect. There was enough space for everyone and we were all super comfortable. Would definitely recommend and would love to go back. Thank you!!

Our family recently spent four very relaxing and enjoyable nights at the cabin. We loved the multiple tvs, hot tub, pool table and nearby creek. Great views, too. Nearby attractions were just a short drive away, as well. We'll be back.

Very good and relaxing stay

We did have a slight problem getting into the cabin, code was set for the cleaning staff not guest. We had to call VRBO and get another contact number but we did get in touch and in after an hour or so. The place is really nice and secluded. I did expect an HD tv in the living room from the pic but other than that everything was perfect. The steam room is awesome and the hot tub is really nice and powerful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. The grill was very nice (gas) and operated perfectly and the appliances are very nice as well. Got a bad drive to Cleveland or Helen to stock up.

Loved the cabin. It was amazing my one and only complaint would be the lack of cable /satelite box in the upstairs bedroom. Which would not have been a factor if I didn't have a 2 year old that watches cartoons at night. All the comforts from home plus so much more!! Was plenty room for the two families that went and our kids LOVED having the game room to play in. We will definitely be using Simple Pleasures again. We loved Helen and you made our first cabin rental experience great. I recommend Anna Ruby Falls to anyone that visits Helen but take your walking shoes it was a steep walk.

our time here was very enjoyable as there is so much to do. The cabin is beautiful, but we were missing lights, darts were broken, roach dirt was in some of the drawers, dining rm had no lights above table, wrong candle was put in a holder and flared up, dining rm chair broke while I was sitting on it pushing me into table, had trouble connecting with the wifi, didn't connect with the owners well, other that all that, we did have a good time because we made the best of everything, also was in the woods didn't see the mountains till we went out. pat j

Owner response:I am suprised by your review as we spoke several times prior to you checking in and I spoke with you once and your daughter twice during your visit and had my cleaning folks make two special trips to the cabin as well to replace bulbs and reset the wifi. They would have been happy to replace the darts for you if it had been mentioned. The chair has been repaired, light bulbs replaced and the candle removed as it was left by a previous renter. The builder did not include a light fixture over the dining table however the light bulbs in the entry have been replaced also. As our listing states there is a seasonal mountain view (winter months) and your visit was just prior to the magnificant colorful leaf season.

Awesome quaint cabin near Helen, Ga

We arrived at the cabin on the Sunday before my birthday to meet the "cleaning crew". (We arrived a little early) Our first impressions had begun when Jason and Stephanie made our acquaintance with such friendly enthusiasm. Our cabin was immaculate, very cozy and homelike with knotty pine thru out and large open living area with beams and large windows, jacuzzi tub in the master bath with a slate floor and shower. It was so comfortable and spacious. Even though my husband and I were the only guest for this stay, the cabin would have easily accommodated 8 or 10. With three levels it would not be crowded and there is a huge game area at the ground level with a pool table and dart board and large TV for games. We really enjoyed making a fire in the slate stone fireplace as well as lighting candles for a very romantic feel after eating our steak cooked on the gas grill . Not to be forgotten is hot tub on the back deck overlooking a lush and private forest. The cabin is situated at the end of a graveled road with two other like kind cabins, making for a very private homey feel. If you are looking for an upscale yet rustic cabin in the privacy of the woods and close to Helen or Cleveland GA this may be what you have been looking for. The area has beautiful creek trails, horse stables, antique stores, winery and so many places to shop including outlets and unique stores in Helen.

My family & I had a wonderful Spring Break at this cabin. Everything was spotless and just as described. We did not feel it was too "far out" at all. We liked the how peaceful the cabin and property were. We are already hoping to plan a summer vacation here too. Do not hesistate in booking Simple Pleasures. Oh yeah we went to Helen often, only about 10 minutes away and the drive to Dahlonega is so scenic it didn't seem to take very long at all.

We love coming back to this cabin every year. We actually spent our Honeymoon in ths cabin when we got married in Helen at the Alpine Chapel 2 years ago. This was our 3rd visit to Simple Pleasures for are 2 year wedding anniversary. As always the owners are super nice and the cabin has everything we needed. This a beautiful Cabin , pictures dont do justice. The kitchen is wonderful . Had everything we needed to cook our anniversary dinner. The grill on the back deck was nice my hubby enjoyed cooking steaks on it. We had a great time and I am sure we will be back next year for our 3rd year anniversary or maybe sooner .

I've stayed in a lot of rentals over the years and some times it's a crap shoot. This was definitely a winner. Love the kitchen even with the electric stove. Was very surprised that they had everything we needed and I like to cook a lot of different things. The beds and linens were nice as was the sofa. We thought it was great even before we discovered the downstairs and pool table. We don't have kids and were traveling alone but it would be big enough to come back (which we plan on) with 2 other people and even kids (which we don't plan on ;) (for now). Also love that they didn't kill us with a pet deposit like so many other places.

Christmas at Simple Pleasures

Belynda and Dawn: We had a wonderful time over the Christmas holiday. The kids, and grandpa, enjoyed playing pool. Mother Nature cooperated and gave us a nice snowfall on Christmas day (and a great snowball fight that evening). It was nice to just relax by the fire, drink some wine, play some board games and use the hot tub. The cabin was spacious enough for all of us (4 adults and 2 children), yet had a very cozy feel to it too. We will definitely make a return visit! p.s. We have been going to Helen, Ga with my mom for about 15yrs now. My mom and her BFF have been coming for the last 30 yrs. My mom and BFF are from Germany. So, they started an annual vacation. Which started out as a weekend full of fun, meeting up with friends, getting to pretend they were back home. We have so many people that come now, mom and I decided to break off and get a cabin for ourselves. We chose Simply Pleasures because it had everything we were looking for. However, this cabin lists and pictures does not do it justice. Once we opened the door, we were in love. The name of the cabin says it all, “Simply Pleasures”. Everything you need is inside. There were 4 of us, like kids in a candy store. The decor, cabin feel, the views, and the hospitality was top rated. We had a couple of minor problems but easily rectified but Dawn and Belynda. For future use; I found out with the Wifi had a connection problem. I had to reboot the system and wawla, Houston we had connection, ha ha. Then we found the game room and wow!! If we got snowed in, other than cabin fever, you would not need to want. After our fun times out in Helen, Natoochee, Horseback, riding, and Antique/Indian store; at night, we would unwind and relax in the hot tub, listening to nature and the babbling creek below us. We stayed 5 nights and still don’t feel like we went through everything that was offered in the cabin and surrounding area. We will definitely come again. We are looking for a place to keep returning to, I don’t like spending so much time looking up cabins. Besides, Simply Pleasures has everything and then some. I really felt at home. If I was to say anything on the down side it would be the need for more cupboards in the kitchen.

This place is great. It is a bit out of the way of town but it is worth it. The bathrooms are amazing and the sauna is so relaxing.

Mountain paradise

First of all if you are looking for the whole mountain experience, this cabin will definitely provide you that. This vacation showed us what the concept "Southern Hospitality" is all about. The cabin is so family oriented my kids didn't want to go anywhere, they just wanted to play pool and the board games especially the Catch phrase game.

Great Away Stay

Beautiful cabin in the woods-great fit for our family of six. Couldn't see the creek from balconies and walk down is very steep. Master is on main floor so teenagers got to do the stairs. Had some trouble with the Wi-Fi but owner helpful. Hot tub, flat screen t.v.s, and pool table kept teenagers happy while indoors. Tubing in Helen ($3 each) was voted as kid's #1 favorite activity. Glad my youngest was eleven though as it got rough in some places. Kids all liked Hofer's Bakery in Helen for sandwiches, breads and pastries. Lunch for six with tip was $70. Liked Betty's in Helen and Ingles outside of Helen for grocery shopping. We also liked the Nora Mill Granary. Bought some grits for breakfast at the cabin. Hike up to Brasstown Bald was strenuous but the view very nice. Also enjoyed Anna Ruby Falls and Duke's Creek Falls but were we tired at the end of that day!

This was our first time staying in a cabin and we can't wait to do it again! This cabin was perfect for us. Conveniently located to so many places. We went to Anna Ruby Falls, Duke's Creek Falls, Tallulah Gorge, Brasstown Bald and even went to Chattanooga, TN, one day. We enjoyed having dinner in Helen often because it is so close. It was so nice to come home to this cabin every night to relax. My family loved playing pool. We were so sad to leave this place....we can't wait to return!

Stayed over the Thanksgiving Holidays - great mini-vacation! The view is great and sounds of the river relaxing. There was plenty of room for the family and the kids absolutely LOVED playing in leaves in the side yard!

Very nice place to stay while in Helen. It is convenient to get to and secluded and peaceful. Inside was spacious enough for all three couples. Loved being able to coming in from our motorcycle rides and utilize the hotub and grill. Made for great evenings. Hopefully it will be available on our next trip.

I have been there twice and will go again. I meet my brother and his family from Atlanta and I come from Olando. Place is very clean and near everything. You would not be disappointed by your stay. Everything is there that you need.

My husband and I stayed here in March. It is a beautiful place. We were supposed to have a family of four join us but their plans fell through, so it was just the two of us. We used the hot tub nightly. The cabin is a very close drive to Tallulah Gorge and I recommend a visit. Dealing with the owners was easy and they were very pleasant.
