Playfully named "On The Rocks", this home professionally decorated with a European flair, sits on a gently sloping ridge nestled in the treetops. Upper and lower wrap around screened in porches enjoy panoramic views of the rushing river and shoals of "Big Creek" running directly below.
Bring your fishing rods to catch a few through here or in the Randall Lake just upstream. The entry level porch has outdoor seating for privately retreating to a good book or entertaining a crowd. Many festive dinner parties have been enjoyed around the French farm table which comfortably sits ten.
The configuration of the bedrooms in On The Rocks makes it ideal for two to three couples to have comfortable private living spaces. The primary MBR Suite is on the upper level of the house and includes a full bath, a small office/dressing area, a loft area and two generous closets. There is a pencil post King Size bed and a vaulted ceiling.
The interior of this home has hardwood floors throughout. A full service kitchen with bar cabinet opens to the great room with soaring cathedral ceiling and stacked stone fireplace. Four sets of double French doors open to the wrap around porch. The owners of this very special home want their guests to feel that they are residing in a small European Boutique Bed & Breakfast.
On the mail level of the house are two bedrooms which could be considered another private master suite or two separate bedrooms sharing a large bath. One bedroom has a Queen size pencil post bed, the other bedroom a full size bed and twin bed. The lower level of the house could be a third private living suite.
There is a full size Murphy bed, walk in closet and full bath and sitting area with sofa and club chairs. The other use of this large area is for downstairs entertaining. There is a big screen TV, pool table/ping pong, and game table. French doors across this entire room open to a huge screened in porch with stairs leading to Big Creek below.
Step out your door and meander down wooded trails leading to Big Creek or up the dirt road for walks past Randall Lake or Pinky Shoals. The 3.9 acres of property is shared by three cottage owners. Use of pool, tennis courts and hot tub are available at nearby Skyline Lodge.
Ten minutes to semi private 18 hold golfing at Highlands Cove. The village of Highlands is minutes away where one can experience fine restaurant dining and both crafts and couture shopping, antiquing, symphony, theatre and art museums.
