Looking for a peaceful and beautiful get-away? This one fits the bill--on the outskirts of lovely Lake City, a town with a year-round population of 350.
We are located on the edge of town--next to National Forest land and with only one nearby neighbor. However, we are within walking distance (less than a mile) from a rushing river, and to the post office, grocery store and restaurants. There are 12-14 eating establishments in Lake City and 2 wonderful coffee shops.
There is an historic district, with many wonderful and interesting shops--from an antique shop, to a gem/rock shop, an old fashioned soda shop, a general store, art galleries, live theatre, 6 churches -- just about anything you need. And all in a small town atmosphere with very friendly people.
You can visit 2 museums- one in town and one which is in an old mine just out of town. You will enjoy wonderful cool dry sunny days in summer, and beautiful sunny and snowy days in winter. Fall is special with the golden shimmering aspens everywhere you look The sky is an electric blue any time of year. It will be an escape from your hectic life that you will not want to end!!
