Kuhio Shores is ocean front in beautiful Poipu on the Kauai`s South Shore. This is a location of magnificent sunsets, where you may watch surfers and sea turtles from your lanai or snorkel and surf at Lawai Beach right next door. Prince Kuhio Park is located across the street. Kuhio Shores is roughly a 5-minute walk from Baby Beach, a unique, quiet beach that`s fun for kids.
You`ll enjoy the sound of the ocean from every room in these vacation rentals. Cook dinner in the fully equipped kitchen and dine on the lanai or visit the
Beach House Restaurant next door for a Pacific Rim food experience with locally grown ingredients.
All of Kuhio Shores vacation condos are accessible by elevators and have easy access to free parking.
Not far down the road is Allerton Garden managed by the National Tropical Botanical Gardens (NTBG). This garden paradise has been transformed via the hands of an Hawaiian Queen, a sugar plantation magnate and, most significantly, an artist and an architect. A series of garden rooms unfold between the Lawa`i Stream and the cliffs of the Valley. The sound of water is in abundance in pools, miniature waterfalls, and fountains. Towering rainforest trees with tall curving roots grow near bronze mermaids, a grove of swaying golden bamboo, a cut-flower garden, and tropical fruit trees. Here, the focus is on landscape design, but among the plantings are botanically important species of the tropics, including varieties of palms, ki (ti), heliconias, orchids, and gingers. Nearby, 252-acre McBride Garden, also managed by NTBG, has the largest collection of native Hawaiian plants in the world.
Across the road from the garden`s Visitors Center is Spouting Horn. This is where water from the waves shoot several stories into the air through a blow-hole in the lava rock. Souvenir shoppers can also hit the arts and crafts market in the park.
From Kuhio Shores, you can also walk to Kukui`ula Shopping Center within 15 minutes. There you will find a variety of shops and restaurants and the Wednesday afternoon Farmer`s Market.

Amazing location and view and accomadations!
Great condo and location! We were amazed by the view and what a location. We only needed to walk about 1 minute to the best snorkeling on the island! We loved the layout and decor, and the wall of floor to ceiling window and sliding glass door with plantation shutters. The view with that wall of glass open, was amazing! Thank you for a great place to stay for our 20th wedding anniversary. Mary and Bill

Just wanted to say thank you for all your help & coordination with our stay here at Kuhio Shores! I just can't believe how fast two weeks have come and gone! Now, its time to say good-bye and head back home. Everything was great here in unit #208. The views and sounds of the constant ocean were amazing!! We really enjoyed our stay and everything was great as far as our accommodations! I also wanted to send an additional 'THANK YOU' again for the special goodies we were able to get in on! Those being the $300 gift card to the Anara Spa over at the incredible Grand Hyatt! That went to good use on a couples massage we took advantage of, as well as the $100 gift card to the Beach House restaurant! Again, put to good use for a wonderful dinner! These special additions were awesome and greatly appreciated and only made our vacation that much more enjoyable!! Again, thanks for everything. Please feel free to contact me at the number below should you need to for anything. Mahalo! And will definitely look to this place and unit again for future visits to Kauai! This is a beautiful island and its always hard to leave, but we will be back!

Kuhio shores is a special place!
The team at Great Vacation Retreats were a welcoming, efficient and knowledgeable group to work with. Kuhio Shores is a great location. If you don't like listening to the ocean don't stay there It's right on the ocean. The only way to get closer is to be in it! The condo had everything we needed-- storage for all our stuff, lots of cooking equipment, and a washer dryer. The furniture and bed were comfortable.

Lovely week in KauaiGuest comment entered by manager
Lovely week in Kauai
The view from the lanai is amazing - we enjoyed our coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening almost every day! The space is really comfortable and fully stocked with key essentials such as beach towels, beach chair, umbrella, etc. The staff also prepared a nice bag of 'set up' goodies that saved us from having to run out to the store on Day 1. We had a problem with our internet connection half-way through the week and contacted the staff for help - they sent someone out to fix it by the time we returned later in the day. The rental property is located on a not-too-busy lane that was perfect for running/walking and is situated just a few buildings away from the Beach House, a great restaurant that has incredible views of the sunset. Book it!

Good TimesGuest comment entered by manager
My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay here. Kuhio Shores was a terrific location for the winter months (would probably go to the north shore in the summer, but then again I wouldn't travel to Hawaii in the summer). The snorkeling right outside was the best we experienced on the island and swimming with turtles, literally a stones throw from the lanai, was certainly one of the highlights of the trip. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. Having a washer/dryer to our own was a fantastic feature. Didn't care for most of the decor. The kitchen worked out just fine.

I just wanted to let you know that we thoroughly enjoyed our 7 night stay at Kuhio Shores #208. What a fabulous place, right on the water! The eastern view was wonderful. We watched the sun rise every morning over PK's beach and enjoyed being able to see the mountains in the distance. Every afternoon we watched the turtles feed in the water below our balcony. In the mornings, we would snorkel with the turtles. On our last morning there, we counted 16 turtles from one spot. Plus, Kuhio Shores is a great location for South Shore and western island activities. Salt Pond and Maha' ulepu beaches are our favorites; and, of course, Waimea Canyon is just a short drive. Thank you so much for letting us check in early; but most of all, for allowing us to check out late. That was very gracious of you and very, very much appreciated. We were able to shower off before heading to the airport. Mahalo!

About: Aloha~ Thank you for viewing my properties! My name is Amy Grant and I own a boutique vacation management company in Kauai called Great Vacation Retreats. I happily work and reside in Kauai and have been managing vacation rentals on the Garden Isle for almost 4 years. Been married to my husband, Scott, since 2003 and we have a beautiful little girl named Presley. When we aren't busy chasing her around, we enjoy going to the beach, cooking and traveling. I love working with my guests to find the perfect place for them to call home while on vacation. It can be overwhelming trying to pick out the right property -- I can help. My staff and I take great pride in the properties we manage and believe that we truly have some of the best properties the island has to offer. We have been in each property numerous times and stayed in most so that we can give you an accurate description of what each property's amenities are, distances to the beach, sightseeing, restaurants, etc. We can also help you with any activities you might be interested in while on island such as surfing lessons, private boat charters, guided hikes, stand up paddling, personal chef, childcare and much more! Mahalo for looking :)
Why Kuhio Shores:
My husband and I were married at Kee Beach on the North Shore and visited the island several times after. We used to manage vacation rentals in Lake Tahoe and many of the owners also owned property in Kauai and asked if we would be interested in starting a business here. After a couple of years, we finally made the move and have been blissfully happy ever since. The island has so much natural beauty and outdoor activities, yet it still doesn't have that 'big resort' feel. It is a great, safe place for children and also makes for a perfect honeymoon or anniversary destination.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
There are so many outdoor activities to enjoy here -- going to the beach, surfing, stand up paddling, horseback riding, hiking, sightseeing, taking a boat charter along the Napali Coast, kayaking, camping, biking, etc. I enjoy getting a spa treatment at the Anara Day Spa at the Hyatt. If you enjoy going to a spa, their facial is perfect. My husband and I met at culinary school and consider ourselves 'foodies'. We love the Kilauea Bakery for a great cup of coffee and the bialys (stuffed bagels) are amazing. Some other restaurants that we enjoy are Josselins, the Kalaheo Café, Postcards, Roy’s, Tip Top Café and Kauai Pasta just to name a few. There are some wonderful farmers markets here and fish markets (Hanalei Dolphin is the best) with their fresh local catches of the day. Ahi is, of course, an island favorite and can be found at many of the restaurants throughout the island. Whale watching is from December - March and is quite a sight to see. Some of the best golf courses in the US are located in Kauai. We work with some activity providers that provide personalized hikes and activities that are 'off the beaten path' and truly show you what Kauai has to offer.
