Turn south, and you're in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley in just 15 minutes. Or head up to Flathead Lake, just 90 minutes away, or Glacier National Park, just 3 hours away. Year Purchased: 1999
Missoula was my home for over 24 years, and to say I miss this special community is an understatement. I don't know any other place that has the mix of outdoor activities and sports, community events, an excellent university, performing arts and fine arts, and terrific shopping that Missoula has - all without the traffic and stress of the larger metro areas, and all set in one of the most beautiful spots the northern Rockies has to offer. I've always said this is a community that works; people think of themselves as a community, and they get involved. In addition, when you can drive up to Flathead Lake in 90 minutes; to Glacier in 3 hours; down the Bitterroot in an hour - you just have everything right at your doorstep. Enjoy your stay, and most of all, take note of the light - the light is different throughout Montana, and you can't help but notice.
The Unique Benefits of this House
There is tremendous privacy in this house, because the back yard actually goes around a corner or turn in the road, and it gives ample room between properties. The views are incredible, but at the same time, you're just two blocks away from major arterials that take you anywhere you need to go in town or to the nearest freeway. You're not high up on the hill, which is great if the weather's bad; you don't get the snow and ice nearly as much. Yet you're up just enough for that amazing view.
