Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2002
We built the palapa to enjoy the views, peaceful environment, and surf of Pescadaro with our 4 children and their families. It has served us well through the years with the changing needs of a family. Perfect for all the ages and stages!!
We enjoy the walk to Cerrritos. So many interesting plants and animals to see along the way.
The palapa has excellent cell phone coverage so keeping track of things back home is possible. This has been important to us as we have our own business.
Why the Owner Chose El Pescadero
Pescadaro is so close yet so far from Santa Barbara,(where we live)! Door to door it is just 8 hours. We love the area for its peacefulness, wonderful people, and surf.
The Unique Benefits of this house
Enjoy coffee at Baja Bean, a cocktail at Rancho Pescadaro, or a cold beer on the steps at the Palapa watching the sunset.

We have stayed at a lot of places in Baja and this palapa is by far the best bang for the buck. Watching the whales go by with margarita in hand follow by the gorgeous sunsets was something we will always treasure. After that, the stars come out and put on their own show. The palapa and surrounding area is just beautiful. This is the perfect place to relax and reconnect both with yourself and loved ones. The palapa was very comfortable and well-stocked. There were gentle breezes all day, but you will want to bring a jacket for the nights. The palapa is off the beaten path so it's very private, but it's also great because it's only 5 mins away from the beaches, and the little town of Pescadero. We will definitely be back!

Enjoyed staying here. Great view of the whales migrating. I would say it is more like camping. Enjoyable! There were a few mosquitos but that was taken care of eagerly by the owners setting up the nets. A little cool in the evenings and mornings but no problem as we were warm and comfortable in our bed. Not as close to the beach as I had imagined, but a walkable distance. If driving to this location don't plan on looking for street signs. The directions are adequate if done in the daylight.

Quiet quaint clean and simple. Perfect for our family of four.

We loved feeling removed but barely had to drive to spend every day at a different beach. Super quiet, private, beatiful and simple. Only sounds at bedtime were waves and crickets. Great bird watching all day, very convenient location, within 15 minutes of numerous surf options. Firm new beds, full and queen, with clean linens, plenty of hot water, simple kitchen with everything we needed for the whole family (we cooked at home every meal for the whole week), outdoor shower and rinse area, killer futon for watching the sunset, little fridge with freezer, BBQ and hammock, fire pit with camp chairs. Minimalist but spares no comfort. Classy but humble. Our four- and two-year olds loved it, too.

Our family of four stayed in the palapa for five wonderful nights. We found the site much as described. Actually, it was even more charming than we expected. The weather was a bit cooler than normal while we were there, but we had plenty of blankets to stay warm at night. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly. The palapa is well off the main road, so there was almost no traffic. We felt very safe at the location. We brought headlamps with us, which proved useful in the evening, although a propane light and many battery operated lights were available. There was also an outlet to charge phones, etc. We were there in December, so I don't know what the weather, bug conditions, etc. are like at other times of the year, but we had a great stay!
