Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
This is my childhood home. When my parents moved to a townhouse in Tucson National, people were clamoring to buy this place -- great location, old established neighborhood. Fortunately they decided to sell it to me. I was a design major in college, and this is the 7th house I have remodeled since 1993, all the rest being in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2007 I gutted the interior and scraped out all the non-native plants from the backyard (except for the fabulous old trees.) Now you will enjoy a new kitchen, new bathrooms, new tile throughout -- as friends have said, a Casa Hermosa -- Spanish for super beautiful. Furniture is substantial and has great character.
The Unique Benefits of this House
I love to walk to Tohono Chul Park and enjoy breakfast at the Tea Room. I also hike at Catalina State Park, Pima Canyon, Finger Rock Canyon, and Sabino Canyon, all a short drive away. For fun bargain shopping I go to the outlet style Foothills Mall, for mid-range shopping it's the Tucson Mall, and for Lah-Dee-Dah stuff it's Casas Adobes or La Encantada. There are tons of dining options nearby - some of my favorites are Wildflower Cafe, Blue Point (seafood), Metropolitan Grill, Shogun Sushi, Gavi Italian, El Charro Cafe, and either the Gold Room or the Lounge at the Westward Look Resort for fabulous views of the city and all the mountain ranges that surround Tucson. If you want the freedom to stretch out and feel cramped by a condo, this is your spot!
