4 Upper Fisher Row, Oxford, is a lovely terraced cottage in the heart of Historic Oxford, famed for its University and Dreaming Spires. The property is perfect for short lets, and longer stays by negotiation. I also own another property in the Jericho area sleeping 5, also very central so do enquire.
It is situated on a no-through road, off Hythe Bridge Street in the City centre, and everything of interest is within walking distance, including the University and its museums and libraries, the canal and the University Parks and Botanical Gardens. Oxford has a historic Covered market and an open air market which is held twice a week within 5 minutes of this house. No parking available unless very special circumstances as limited visitor permits.
There are 2 double bedrooms, with 4'6" beds each, and one twin room. There is also a separate study that can be used for a baby in a travel cot, otherwise it has a single futon chairbed which can be used by an extra guest, subject to surcharge. The sofa bed in the living room is great for emergency extras also subject to surcharge. There is a bathroom with shower over on the first floor and a shower room on the ground floor as well, both with WC.
The River flows in front of the house and also the 'cut' of the canal where narrow boats moor up, and to the rear is a stream, which is at the bottom of the garden. If you type the postcode (OX1 2EZ) into googlemaps 'my street view' you can see the area in detail and will recognise the view. It will also demonstrate how convenient the location is for the town centre, station and all amenities.
There are restaurants in Oxford serving food from around the world (Thai, Indian, Chinese, French, Italian, Mexican etc.) and to suit all price ranges, from bistros to Raymond Blanc's Brasserie, and Quod in the Old Bank Hotel. A rickshaw from OxonCarts (Google them) can take you to the charming Cherwell Boathouse restaurant where, in the summer, students and visitors alike hire punts to drift up the Cherwell river, (Cherwell to rhyme with Harwell).
Blenheim Palace and Historic Woodstock can be reached by bus easily from the town centre, and Stratford-upon-Avon is an hour in a car. There are car rental companies fairly centrally located, in Osney Mead.
London is only an hour on a direct train service and the station is less than a 5 minute walk from the front door. Oxford boasts classical music concerts, theatre at the Playhouse and the New Theatre as well as the Literary Festival held in the spring and Art weeks held in May where local resident artists hold open studio sessions.
We hope you have a wonderful stay in this beautiful city, and can give any help and advice on things to see and getting around.
Babysitting may be arranged.
Arrive after 3.30pm on day of arrival, and departure by 10.30am please.

Lovely home in central Oxford

This house was a wonderful place to stay during our visit to Oxford. The house was larger than expected, clean, comfortable, and walking distance to everything. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 young children and had plenty of space. The owner was very sweet and helpful when we were planning our trip and during our stay. We highly recommend this property and will stay there again should we ever get a chance to go back to Oxford.

This propery was even better than we expected and in a fabulous location so that no one missed having their car. It was a home away from home and had everything we needed. The owner couldn't have been more helpful and her local knowledge made booking restaurants and organising a birthday cake very easy. I would recommend the Ashmolean Museum, the Anchor pub and the Oxon Carts rickshaw tours. We will be back.

Excellent location (really central but also quiet as located in side street next to the river), lovely house and in very good condition. Had personal contact with the owner who is very friendly and helpful. We felt at home at once - nice little terrace attached to the house as well!

We have recommended this property to our family traveling to Oxford. The location is perfect, located easy walking distance to the train station or the bus station. Pandora was helpful when we had extra accommodation needs as well as welcoming our guest to Upper Fisher Row. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was a bonus, as was a second full bathroom with a shower. We loved the Ashmoleum Museum only three blocks away, plan for at least a full four hours there, amazing!
