Gros Islet villa description
A light and spacious villa situated in a select and quiet residential area of Marisule on the Caribbean coast. The villa is about a 15 minute drive south to the capital Castries and a 10 minute drive north to Rodney Bay with its beaches, shopping, restaurants and bars.
Date House is entered through automatic gates and then up a sweeping drive to the front door. As you enter the front door the breathtaking Caribbean sea is before you, through the balcony doors opposite.
The fully fenced tropical gardens contain a large private pool (30ft by 15 ft) with plenty of space to relax on the loungers in the tropical sun. The rest of the landscaped gardens contain tropical flowers, shrubs and fruit trees. Visitors are welcome to enjoy fruits such as mango, grapefruit, bananas, plantain, lime and golden apple when in season.
The villa can sleep 7 people comfortably in four air-conditioned bedrooms. The three double bedrooms all have balconies. The master bedroom on the top floor has a panoramic view of the Caribbean sea plus views of the beach at Windjammer Hotel.
The villa enjoys a spacious living area furnished in the Caribbean style, with an open plan sitting room, adjoining dining area and large well equipped kitchen with separate laundry room. All the living areas are cooled with ceiling fans.
There is a covered and uncovered front patio area for relaxing and al fresco dining, where guests can enjoy the wonderful sea views. There is also a small gazebo poolside for extra protection from the sun and a handy additional bathroom and toilet at pool level.
To enhance the enjoyment of your vacation the house has a housekeeper (Monday to Saturday from 9am to 3pm) who will also cook your meals if required and prepare fabulous local juice from the home grown fruit. The property is also managed by a very experienced local company who can organise airport transfers, self-drive car hire, sightseeing tours, starter food packs and generally make sure your trip is hassle free.
Come and sit round the pool and watch the humming birds on the bouganvillias or look at the boats sailing past in the sunshine - but most importantly relax!!
The house enjoys the additional security of a monitored burglar alarm for peace of mind. Additional photos of the house are available on request

My husband and I were on a catamaran cruise and stopped off on St. Lucia for 4 nights which we spent here. The house was easy to find, close to Rodney Bay and Castries and convenient for shopping. It is a lovely house exactly as shown in the photos. It was rather hot downstairs, even with the fans on, we escaped the heat by dipping into the pool.... sipping the T'punch made by the very friendly housekeeper Ann Marie and then enjoying the fab views from the air-conditioned master bedroom. Ann Marie had decorated the house so nicely with fresh flowers and it was spotless. The owner was so helpful when booking. We were glad we rented a 4x4 as the road down to the house was a bit tricky in parts even though a standard car would do it OK. It was mango season and the huge laden tree in the property left her fruit on the driveway for us after every rain shower - heaven! We had a superb meal at Calabash Cove, less than a kilometre away. Only a few slight inconveniences were the dog barking next door, no desk for computer/working/writing activities and no direct access to a beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here (extended a night) and would happily recommend it. We would definitely recommend this house to couples and families. There is no fence around the pool so it wouldn't be so suitable for families with young children though! Thank you!

Wonderful St. Lucia Vacation
Wonderful St. Lucia Vacation
My husband & I along with my sister & brother-in-law spent a week in May, 2013 at Date House. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Date House is very well maintained, very spacious and the location was perfect for us. The grounds are beautiful and very well groomed. We made use of the swimming pool every day of our stay and especially enjoyed sitting out every morning on the veranda sipping coffee and watching the fisherman and boats out on the Caribbean. The housekeeper, Ann Marie was so sweet and an excellent cook. She had a wonderful meal waiting for us upon our arrival and a pitcher of the very best rum punch we have ever tasted (she even gave us the recipe). We very much enjoyed chatting with her and appreciated all of her hard work in making our stay comfortable. We were very pleased with the accomodations: the beds were extremely comfortable, the air conditoning very much appreciated, the showers and water systems were excellent. We cooked breakfast every morning & a couple of dinners (one on the outside grill). We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay at Date House and all that St. Lucia has to offer to visitors. We highly recommend Date House to anyone who likes the privacy and relaxation of renting a villa. You have everything you need to make an enjoyable & memorable vacation. We highly recommend renting a vehicle for your use. Taxi's are available, but the location is perfect for driving to Rodney Bay, Castries, etc. Grocery stores, shopping & restaurants are very close (within 10 minute drives). Prior to our stay, the owner emailed us much information as to the area, restaurants, etc. He even sent us a map for getting to the villa from the main road. The rental agency, Tropical Villas, arranged a Land & Sea Tour for us which we were very pleased with. They were also available to answer any questions for us. All-in-all, we would definitely recommend Date House. We came home from our vacation feeling totally relaxed and many fond memories.

Great Villa, Gorgeous Location
Great Villa, Gorgeous Location
We spent a week at the Date House in January 2013 having searched extensively for a 'special' villa in a private setting. We were not disappointed. The villa is indeed something special and is even more stunning than it appears in the photographs. The accommodation is bright, spacious and well-cared for. A double height living area leads to a separate dining space and large well-appointed kitchen. There are all the appliances, pots, crockery, glassware and utensils that you could need and a great gas grill outside. The master bedroom is something else, with 180 degree views of the sea from the double aspect windows and large balcony. The bed is very comfortable, the air conditioning works well and there is a generous en-suite. Outside a shady verandah leads to a spacious deck with dining table overlooking garden and pool. Very private and not overlooked. The villa is well placed between Castries and Rodney Bay. We rented a car - a 4x4 is essential - and found shops, restaurants and beaches very convenient. Anne-Marie the housekeeper was charming and very helpful and, although the property is managed by a local agent, the owner took a close interest in our booking, advised on things to do and see, and this personal touch was very helpful and much appreciated.. We've stayed in some great places and the Date House is right up there with the best of them - highly, highly recommended and we can't wait to return.

A wonderful Vacation at the Date House.
A wonderful Vacation at the Date House.
Out visit to the Date house was the last two weeks of March 2011. We chose the Date House from the pack of internet VRBO options because of its proximity to Castries, it's central location to shopping, and the sightseeing options we had reseached. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The listing information concerning the Date House was accurate and very helpful and the photos reflected the property's appearance accurately. We found the propety clean, well maintained, and very comfortable. The owner was most helpful in answering questions and offering his thoughts on points of interest, travel arrangements, auto rental options, and a myriad of other questions we had prior to our visit. Dione, the Villa representative, was very helpful getting us established on our arrival and was a wealth of information on the local area. The villa is well appointed and was quite spacious for my wife and I. We are early 70's and found we could navigate the property and interior without any difficulty. The pool and surrounding area were ideal for privacy and just relaxing. With the exception of the roof of the Villa just below we were not aware anyone was around. It was quite private. The ocean view was spectacular. Customary provisions were purchased in Rodney Bay just a short drive from the Villa and several trips to the Market in Castries provided all of our shopping needs. There are a number of restaurants close by. We frequented the Calabash Cove Resort for several lunches and dinner and found it a very relaxing atmosphere. The Windjammer Resort just to the north also offered out door lunch dining which we enjoyed. The Catamaran trip out of Rodney Bay and down the coast proved to be a nice day's outing. The Pitons up close were a unique site and the several tours offered as part of the trip were very enjoyable. One evening we traveled by taxi to Margot Bay and dined at the Rainforest Hideaway Restaurant. This was a special evening in a romantic setting and excellent food. To us the mark of a good vacation is too much to do and not enough time available. Our two weeks flew by and we are sure to visit the Date House again. We highly recommend this Villa.

A special place with astonishing views
A special place with astonishing views
We had the privilege of staying at the "Date House" and it provided the experience that we were looking for while staying in St Lucia. The listing description was accurate regarding the location and the photos were an accurate representation of the appearance and amenities. The owner was very responsive and answered all of our questions. We did not experience any problems while staying at the Date House and everything worked in perfect order. Our housekeeper Anne Marie was marvelous, gracious and invaluable to us and she did a great job keeping the house clean and cooking; she also went shopping with us. Dionne, of Tropical Villas, was also a big help to us. She came by and patiently answered all of our questions. In addition to booking our island tour, she highly recommended the Rainforest Hideaway Restaurant which added a special touch to our 10 year wedding anniversary celebration. Travel to the villa was a breeze, via Terry (our taxi driver). He stopped and allowed us to take pictures on the way to the villa. We also hired him to take us to the Rainforest Hideaway at Marigot Bay for dinner. The views from the upstairs bedroom were astonishing! Watching the sunset from there was priceless.

We (group of 5) stayed at the Date House villa in Feb 2011. The house is lovely and you have a fantastic view. Each morning and night, we watched the cruise ships arriving and leaving St. Lucia. You have a great view of Windjammer on the hillside. Ann Marie, the cook and housekeeper, prepared us a wonderful meal upon our arrival. She had the beds covered with flower petals when we arrived. It was such a nice welcoming gesture. She also kept the house immaculate during our entire stay. You have everything you need available at the villa for you while in St. Lucia. We bought groceries and made lunch and dinner most of the time. You are not in the city but yet close enough to get to someplace within a few minutes by car. I would highly recommend staying at the Date House while in St. Lucia.

We stayed at the lovely Date House for one week in February 2010. It was a fabulous experience- from the comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, to the beautiful pool and grounds. The views and sunsets from this house are unforgettable. Several people helped make our stay wonderful- The owner of the home gave us alot of information about St. Lucia and some of the must see areas- he was incredibly helpful and available via internet. Having the local villa management rep. Dionne was extremely beneficial from arranging an arrival dinner in the home to helping us plan our excursions. The Housekeeper Ann Marie was lovely- cooked us an amazing arrival dinner, arranged fresh cut flowers throughout house, took us grocery shopping. Our family of six will stay at this house again and would highly recommend it to others. Feel free to email me for further info.
