The hospitality shown by the owners was truly in the spirit of Aloha. They did everything they could to make sure our stay was relaxing and comfortable. The location of the unit was exceptional ... easy walking distance to great restaurants, shopping, beaches, etc. If visiting Maui, I highly recommend that you consider this unit.

Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Ann and I could not have asked for more from Ellen and John on our visit to Maui and this unit. I have already refered my friends to this unit, one of whom has visited. This has to be the best unit in the best facility in Kihei. It is clean, comfortable, and ideally situated for all we wanted to do. We wanted a quiet, relaxing, stressfree vacation. This unit was the ideal "home" for us to accomplish those goals. The unit is the largest one bedroom in the complex. The bedroom was super quiet, and we had all of the peace and privacy we wanted. The lanai was the perfect setting each evening for our gin and tonics, and an unobstructed view of the setting sun. The pool was beautiful and well maintained, and only a few steps from our lania. We prefered to lay in the sun poolside, and avoid the beach crowds and hassles. The facility is walking distance to the supermarket, shopping centers, and great resturants. We also made great use of the Maui bus system, which goes right by. We will definately be back!

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Shores of Maui Unit 115, Beautiful Condo and Owners with the Aloha Spirit!!

My husband and I had to travel to Maui on short notice to search for a place to live due to employment relocation. Scrambling to find a place to stay, I came across this gem that had availability the exact five days I needed. Contacting Ellen, she graciously accommodated our last minute situation. And while our needs were not for vacation, I highly, highly (did I say highly) recommend this unit to stay in to see all Maui has to offer. Perfect location in Kihei with stunning, panoramic views (especially the sunsets!) from the lanai and grounds, across the street from the ocean. The condo is immaculate and beautiful, yet comfortable and livable (super comfy beds!) and appointed with well thought consideration of anything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay....be it cooking, beach gear or poolside. Beautiful pool area overlooking the ocean with gas grills (that are cleaned every morning) we cooked up some yummy rib-eye one night. After long days of home searching, we so appreciated and enjoyed being able to come back and utilize the amenities (flat screen TV's, Bose System, video library, WiFi) We have rented many vacation condos in various locations, but honestly have never seen one so well equipped for the thought of the guest(s) comfort, down to the chilled glasses in the freezer. John met us on arrival at the unit, showed us around the unit and was a pleasure to talk with and a great help to us, answering my many questions about living in Maui. Shopping, grocery and restaurants are all within short walking distance, great food and happy hour deals at Three's Bar & Grill (catch of the day there was the best meal I had on Maui) I wish there was a 20 star option, I would give it. As I told John when we were leaving, I'm going to recommend this place to everyone I know!!! John and Ellen exemplify the Aloha spirit, Mahalo for providing such a wonderful place to stay! :)

I have been to Hawaii quite a few times and this place is definitely a home away from home. Ellen and John were great to deal with when making the arrangements for going to Maui. My two daughters and granddaughter stayed there and it was perfect for us. The kitchen is very well stocked with equipment and this is without a doubt the cleanest place I have ever stayed in. Bedding, towels etc were above and beyond. The patio was small and private compared to most of the patios in the units. The orchids that John looked after were enjoyed by us every morning and evening. Parking was great as it was just outside the door and no stairs which made it easy for loading and unloading the vehicle. Beach right across the street and an organic store within a few minutes of driving and grocery store within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a home away from home. THANK YOU Ellen and John

Shores of Maui is the only place to stay!

I have been to Maui several times in the past, and have always stayed at the Shores of Maui! This condo unit is located on the ground floor near the pool and BBQ grills through the living room sliding glass door. It is in a smaller condo complex which is very well maintained, and has a very friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Parking is right outside the rear entry door to carry your things into the unit easily. An amazing view of the ocean from the living room and lanai! The condo is very tastefully decorated and impeccably clean with everything needed to enjoy your stay ... beach chairs, towels, and coolers even provided! Washer, dryer, and modern kitchen appliances. Our friendly hosts, John and Ellen, met us upon our arrival with a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the table, and showed us around their lovely unit! They were just a phone call away if we would have needed them which was nice to know. My daughter and I had an amazing two week vacation celebrating her college graduation! There is so much to do and see on Maui, and we did it all! This condo in located close to many beautiful beaches, great shopping and amazing restaurants! The kitchen is very well stocked. We enjoyed using the BBQ grills many nights, and dining by the pool watching the beautiful sunsets. The condo features ceiling fans as well as AC, and the beds were amazingly comfortable for a great night's sleep after a day at the beach or sight seeing. I enjoyed the privacy and fantastic ocean view from the private lanai each morning with my cup of coffee. And John and Ellen have beautiful orchids for you to enjoy on the lanai too! Shores of Maui Unit 115-The Best Maui Vacation We've Ever Had!

My husband and I recently returned from a very relaxing two week vacation where we stayed at this unit. In the past, we've always stayed in the Kaanapali area, but for anyone who wants to get away from the crowds and enjoy the true flavor of Maui, we definitly recommend the Kihei area. While we were there, we walked by many condo's and were glad we chose The Shores of Maui. It's smaller than most of the condos which adds to the relaxing atmosphere. No more jockeying for the best spot at the pool. The pool here is large and very clean with a great barbeque area adn ocean view. I think that 115 offers one of the best views of the ocean with extremely reasonable rates. Our condo was clean and comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed meeting and visiting with other guests and with the owners, Ellen and John Bienia. They live nearby and do a great job in cleaning the unit between visitors. Everything we needed was within walking distance and, in Kihei, you can still browse through the many open markets to view the wares of the locals. If you want a great breakfast, take a short two block walk to the Kihei Cafe. The menu and food are unbelievable--but bring cash because they don't take credit cards. Also, the "Threes" restaurant has super happy hour deals with half price appetizers and drinks. The appetizers were so wonderful we ordered several and had them for dinner out on the open deck. On our last day, we drove to Lahaina and the Kaanapli areas. The streets and beaches were crowded which only confirmed that we made the best choice.To sum it all up, if you want a safe, great place to stay, with beautiful secluded beaches, this unit is the one for you! We are already planning for our next trip.

We had a wonderful two week stay at John and Ellen's condo. We found it immaculate and very well stocked, including everything you need for the beach - towels, chairs, ice chests, umbrella and boogie boards. The view of the beach from the living room and lania is great. The beach is only a 2 minute walk from the condo. John met as upon our arrival to welcome us, answer our questions and point out all the things that were within walking distance. There are plenty of restaurants, shops and a large grocery store all within walking distance. And if you need to do some printing, scanning and faxing, there is a business center across the street. We found the unit to be exactly as shown in the pictures and as described by John and Ellen on the phone. You won't be disappointed staying here!

My sister, 6-year-old grandniece and I really appreciated the location and sense of community we experienced in John and Ellen's condominium home. Ellen and John were wonderful hosts, and the unit was just as advertised. My grandniece loved the pool and the nearby shave ice stand! It was great to walk to the park, grocery store and beaches. And I've never stayed anywhere that was as well stocked, & the full sized washer and dryer really came in handy. Thanks so much for everything!

We loved our stay in October at Ellen and Johns Condo. The location could not have been better. We loved watching the surfers in the morning and the evening sunsets right at our door. The pool was 30 feet from the lanai, great barbecues every night and really nice residents and guests We look forward to another stay at your condo Ellen. Thanks very much

Just came back from 3 weeks stay in condo 115. We are a family with 2 young children and the condo was perfect for us. It was well equipped with all the amenities needed and had a new front load washer that was awesome. It was clean and had very comfortable beds. Our girls loved being so close to the pool and bbq area. Every morning we would open the blinds to our lanai and have the most beautiful view of the ocean. It is also prime location to the local grocery store, playground and best beach on Maui. We love the Shores of Maui and will be returning some day very soon.

Thank you Ellen and John for renting us Unit 115 at the Shores of Maui in Kehei. We had everything we could have wanted at your unit. We all slept so well in the comfy bedding and my sister loved her queen size pull out couch in the extra large living area. We were able to walk to get groceries, eat and shop. We have been to vacationing in Maui for about 10 years and since we discovered Shores of Maui, it has been our Maui residence of choice. This was our first time in unit 115, but it sure won't be our last! Ellen was so wonderful to work with that it made the reservation process simple as pie. The condo itself is possibly the best one we've ever stayed in. Not only was everything clean and neat, but the huge TV made my husband extraordinarily happy! I highly recommend this condo for anyone considering a stay on Maui. Mahalo, Ellen!

We stayed three weeks in January, 2008, and thoroughly enjoyed every minute! The location is perfect, the condo is in excellent condition with all of the accessories of home. The place is extemely clean and tidy. The owners are great and willing to help with directions, places to visit, and anything needed in Maui. We plan to stay again next year. It is truly a "paradise on earth"!!!!

This is just a wonderful unit! Very big & bright, and has all the extras that you might miss from home (It was great to come home and not have to do laundry since my husband had just done it before we left the condo!). The views from the deck are amazing, and although it is right on the main road, it is very quiet. My husband and I planned a last minute trip to Maui, and the owners of the unit were so friendly and accommodating, it was an absolute pleasure to rent from them. We highly recomend this unit, cannot be beat for the price!

We definitely enjoyed our stay at the Shores of Maui in unit #115. The condo has plenty of room and is in an awesome location. You can easily be on the best beaches or having breakfast at the Kihei Caffe in 5 minutes or less. The condo is well furnished and has a nice view of the sunset and ocean. My wife and I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Condo 21788 for our stay recently. It was such a relaxing place. The condo was so well appointed and clean! We had all the amenities of home, including plenty of beach towels! This was such a great place and the owners were so eager to help us with anything we needed! This was our first vacation to Maui, and having a place to stay that was clean, roomy and so close to the ocean was wonderful. Wireless internet, laundry, coolers and lawnchairs are helpful in making it feel just like home. We found the complex very quiet and safe at night.

I had a wonderful experience staying at this condo. It had everything I needed plus more to the beach chairs and ubrella, extra beach towels, to books, movies, washer and dryer, etc. I especially loved the new tile in the kitchen that livened up the kitchen and living room. The views from the Lania were wonderful, and while it is located right on S. Kihei road, as most condo's are, not once did I notice the noise from the street. The pool/hotub and picnic areas were also fabulous. I would definitely rent this condo again.

Great location - close to Wailea, close to Lahaina. Everything provided for us- coolers, boogie boards, towels, dishes. We saved tons of money by stopping by Costco and picking up food to grill or cook. The patio overlooks the ocean so it was great for drinking coffee in the a.m., and drinking maitais in the p.m.!

We had a most wonderful stay here and would highly recommend this listing to any one wishing to have a romantic and quiet experience on Maui. You are centrally located and the view from the Lanai each morning while having our coffee was one right out of the picture books. We giggled and smiled each morning and kept it until we went to sleep at night. Four Star rating and please consider this listing for your stay.

just a great place! try the stuffed salmon at costco on the barbe and then have left-over fish tacos for lunch, and top it off with a corona! wow.....enjoy

We had a wonderful stay at this well maintained, spaceous ocean view condo. It is located in central Kihei, which is perfect walking distance to nearly everything that one would want to explore. I truly enjoyed my time at this condo. Without hestiation, I would recommed anyone to stay here, they would not be let down.

When visiting Maui, location is the primary concern in choosing a vacation rental condo. Condo 21788 was in a perfect location- just a short walk to beautiful beaches, great shopping and premier restaurants. The condo itself provides all of amenities of home - including but not limited to a washer and dryer, dishwasher, air conditioning, and a modern refrigerator and stove. The condo was nicely decorated with bright and light decor. The condo also provides a clean, private patio where you can sit outside and watch the sunset while eating dinner. The grounds were well maintained and secure. The condo owner was a pleasure to work with and easy to contact. I appreciated having a direct connection with the condo owner rather than working through a real estate agent. I am familiar with condos in the Kihei area, and I highly recommend this vacation rental to couples visiting Maui.
