This large and lovely home is perfect for a very large family or three small families or anything in-between. There is a fully-equipped kitchen [new in 2004: large stove & microwave] to prepare meals for all. There is a dining room table and chairs and "leaves" for the table to expand so the vacationers can eat together. A Franklin stove "warms" the ambiance of the living room & dining rooms [ bring wood to "feed" it ]. The central forced-air heating takes over during the night or any other time when the fire dies down. There is a large area next to the cabin for outdoor games. There are board games for family fun and if you want to do some reading there are plenty of books for your enjoyment.

The small and quaint village of Shaver Lake is about a ten-minute walk from the cabin. The villagers are friendly and well prepared to care for vacationers. There are places in the village to get a meal -- "take out" or "eat in" -- enjoy the nightlife or rent videos. Shaver Lake and Huntington Lake are well equipped with "vacation by the lake" equipment and amenities. Shaver lake is up the road a few minutes with Huntington Lake being farther up the road 20 minutes or so. Gambling can be had down the road at a casino about 30 minutes away.
