Santiago Square is only 1 block away and offers everything you will need for a comfortable and enjoyable holiday. Be sure to visit the square on Tuesday evenings around 8:30 where you can join others from the neighborhood to dance the night away to live music! The Plaza Grande, Santa Lucia square and the Merida English Library are an easy walk from the casa so you can enjoy shopping, perusing the art galleries and enjoying numerous cultural festivities all within the vicinity of your personal retreat.
The beach area is 30 minutes away and arranging day trips to places such as Chichen - Itza, Uxmal and Izamal are easy to arrange. Year Purchased: 2008
Steve & Danielle are from Vancouver, BC. After deciding to make a retirement plan, they visited Merida and fell in love with the city. It had everything they wanted in a retirement destination and during their stay, they looked at several properties. Walking into Casa de los Sueno, they immediately knew it was the home for them and when they left the city at the end of their visit, Casa de los Sueno was theirs!
They visit as often as possible and have many friends there now who, along with them, can't wait till they are able to make the casa their permanent home. In the meantime, they are happy to share their beautiful casa with other visitors to Merida as a fantastic vacation rental.
When they finally make the move to Merida, Casa de los Sueno will undergo some renovation to enlarge it and be converted to a guest house/B&B where Steve, Danielle and their 4-legged family member Buddha will look forward to welcoming and entertaining their honoured guests.

The Santiago area is amazing,close to everything, safe, picturesque and our neighbours are wonderful. We fell in love with Merida and enjoy the vibrancy of this beautiful city with it's architecture, art gallerys, cultural festivals and wonderful restaurants.
The Unique Benefits of this House
When we have the opportunity to visit Casa de los Sueno, we love to visit Santiago square. Only 1.5 blocks away, it has almost everything we need to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.We make a point to visit on Tuesday evenings for live music and an opportunity to meet others in our community. One of our favourite Italian restaurants in Merida is only 2 blocks away and visits up the street and around the corner to the Merida English Library ensures that we always have lots of reading material to while away the hours by the pool. Recently we have added a custom built bar and it is definitely a handy addition when friends come to visit.
