Stayed here for the first time over a Holiday weekend. Was a great location for a walking city! Found a great place for breakfast ("Toast") on Meeting street. The bed was very comfortable and the loft had everything we needed! I hope to stay again on my next visit.

Charleston visit

Location was + and - great for walking to restaurants etc, but very noisy, with the fire station across the rd, however we did know this before we booked. Very steep stairs that would be difficult for older people, when we arrived there was a water leak outside the door that I reported, the manager of the unit got someone out immediately, however they then had a industrial dryer running outside our door ALL NIGHT not helping with the noise issue. The apartment was OK smaller than it looked in the photos, it also needs a bedside table.

Recommended for:Tourists without a car, sightseeing.

No need to look anywhere else!

In town for a conference and was pleased to find this loft available. Matt went above and beyond in helping me with the reservation and was even on hand quickly due to a slight plumbing problem. You have everything you need in this wonderful space--except wifi and sometimes you even need a break from that! You are in the middle of everything, I was traveling alone and felt completely safe. Give this loft a try you will not be disappointed!

As others noted, it could get a little noisy, but only b/e the loft is on one the busiest and most convenient streets in downtown. We walked everywhere and never needed a car. The loft was clean and quite nicely filled with light during the day. The only downside was we came during an air conditioning issue. It was a minor inconvenience and Matt was very responsive in getting it resolved.

Perfect condo for a stay in Charleston

My husband and I had a wonderful five night stay in this condo, located in the historic district of charleston. The condo is immaculately clean, with all the necessities included for a comfortable stay. Matt gave us perfect instructions and.directions for the condo, and was available to us by phone for any questions. We did not need our car, although the parking garage is an easy walk away. We walked to all the finest restaurants, shopping, and historical sights. A plus for us was the convenience of a washer and dryer too. We had read former reviews, and so we were prepared with ear plugs for sleeping, We are new to VRBO, usually stay in highly rated hotels, but we are really enjoying checking out vacation rentals, and we would definitely stay here again. I

Great Location - A Bit Noisy at Night

We stayed in the loft for 3 nights in May 2011. The loft is in a great location and a close walk to the french quarter, King street and lots of great restaurants. The loft is located above Jestine's kitchen, which we highly recommend for southern comfort food, and we did not hear any noise from the restaurant. Our one issue with the loft is that the windows are single pane and we could hear all of the street noise at night - people talking, car engines, music from those cars, and the fire trucks across the street. We actually had to put in ear plugs to sleep at night.

Owner response:Jeff, I apoligize for the noise issue. The building is under a historical easement. I have tried on two occasions to submit a request on changing the windows. Both times they completely shot me down. Due to the fact that the building is in the historic area, they will not let us change the windows. We have stayed at this lovely condo twice now and will continue to use it as our location in Charleston. After we parked the car we walked all over Charleston with no problem. The loft is clean, well maintained and the owners are awsome to work with...very accomodating. We would recommend the loft to anyone who wants to visit Charleston!

This was our second time staying in this loft. We feel as though it is our home away from home. The owner is awesome and a great communicator. The place is not only immaculate but has the best location in town! You can walk to everything in downtown Charleston. Great Plasma TV! You won't be disappointed! We will be back soon.

Just stayed 3 nights at the loft..March 25th - 28th..I have to say the location is close to everything. We parked the car at the parking garage on Thurs. and did not go and get it til Sun. morning when we were leaving..we walked everywhere...The loft is over Jestine's Restaurant (which we did not hear any noise from the restaurant..although the loft is right across the street from Charleston Fire Station and we did have some noise from there... The loft was fairly clean, just a little dusty..could probably use a good detail cleaning and some organization...there were 3 drawers that were broken in the dresser which was hard to use for clothing..we just did not use at all...could not find a coffee maker only a perculator..thank goodness there is Dunken Donuts very close...kitchen is very dated not as functional as we would have liked but we managed with no problem...no internet service which was OK...you can go to Bruggers Bagels which is on King St. if you need to get online as we did.. OVERALL...Our stay was Good and I would stay there again..I will say the loft is comfortable for 2 people, would not recommend anymore if staying for a lengthy time.
