Great little place for a week or the whole summer! Come fish, paint, hike, swim. Take a trip on the Silverton Railway out of Durango! Take a day drive to Telluride and see the spectacular falls, ride the airway "buckets" into town (they're free!! part of Telluride's public transportation)
A great place for getting away from the hot Arizona summers! Come to the cool evenings and beautiful pleasant days of Southwest Colorado!
This great little cottage has some local history of it's own, too!
Originally built in 1928 in the town of McPhee, it was moved (lock, stock and garage!) in 1973 when the state of Colorado began construction on the McPhee Reservoir. All the houses in the town of McPhee needed to be demolished or moved. This one was moved approximately 20 miles from the town to our property. When doing a remodel for us to live in it while we built the main residence, we put in new windows and discoverd old newspapers from 1935 AND 1955!! Guess ours weren't the first new windows the cottage received.
There's a great screened in porch all across the back, you can see the Dolores River while having breakfast or evening cocktails. We pretty much have 2-4 resident deer, lots of chipmonks, an occasional coyote and some "pencil" snakes (about the diameter of a pencil) NO poisonous ones.
