We loved this home. It was clean, modern, and spacious. It is conveniently located a block away from the ski resort, which enabled us to walk right down to the ski lifts. We can't wait to rent this home again next year!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

This was our third time staying at this house and we LOVE it. It has a GREAT great room and enough space in adjoining common areas for everyone to do their thing....including 7 kids. When you need your space retreat to one of the bedrooms or go take a walk into the woods up the street next to house. House is well maintained and clean.Tracy is always responsive and helpful. We look forward to our next visit.Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

The home was beautiful and meant our family's needs. Each bedroom has an adjoining bathroom which makes it nice for family and little ones. The home has an open layout so those cooking in the kitchen can still enjoy the activity in the great room. The dining table is quite large so everyone in our group was able to eat together. The home owner was easy to work with and helpful. A bonus to our extended weekend was that is was snowing lightly when we arrived and throughout Friday night. We skied on fresh powdered and were able to walk to the chair lifts which is right down the hill from the home. For those who don't enjoy skiing, there was plenty of room to sled, have snow ball fights & build snow people. I would definitely recommend this home to other families and stay there again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This is a beautiful home with an excellent location! It has great views, plenty of room, it was very clean, it has all the essentials you need and the owner was very easy to work with. For our family, it really was a perfect vacation. We went shopping for groceries when we got there and only left the home to go skiing. We simply relaxed, played games, watched movies and the kids had a great time playing in the snow or sledding right next to the home. When we go back to Big Bear, we will try to rent this home again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful family event at this grand house. The views out all the windows were spectacular. We felt like we were outside instead of inside. The beds were comfy. The well stocked kitchen made cooking a pleasure. We were able to walk to the slopes without having to deal with parking. Even though there was not alot of snow we were able to find plenty of sledding just up the hill from the house. The owner was easy to work with. I would definately recommend this property to friends & family.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Dirty Cabin! urine stained sheets. NASTY!!

when we first got there we found signs of a mediocre cleaning job. we suspected sheets were not washed. and later that night when we were actually sleeping, in one of the rooms there was a horrible smell coming from a part of the sheets. we later found out there was a urine accident on the sheets and this confirmed for us the sheets were never washed. GROSSS!!!! So we were busy washing all the towels and sheets to make sure everything was clean. The house was nice except dog hair all over the place from the owners dogs. even though they don't allow dogs from other people. There are three flights of stairs to go up to enter the house. we really wanted to stay at this place and thought it would be walking distance to bear mountain. even though its close, you still have to drive, so next time we will just stay somewhere else.Owner response: It's to bad we only heard about the sheets after this party disrespected our home and had to be charged for it. I have 3 sets of sheets for every bed and have been using the same cleaning crew for a long time. I do not own a dog or any other animal. There are only 2 flights of stairs to the main level of house. It can be difficult at 7000 feet for some people. The short walk to Bear Mountain is downhill to ski area & up hill to get back. This can be difficult for some people at 7000 ft. Unfortunately in Big Bear it is mandatory you take your trash.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1993
About the owner: We grew up in the Los Angeles area and have always enjoyed Big Bear. My husband's family has owned property in Big Bear Lake since the early 70's. Our family enjoys all the amenities Big Bear has to offer. Snowboarding, skiing, dual sporting, hiking, jeeping, biking & boating. We also enjoy the many great restaurants & shops. We also love to just hang out, relax watching movies while enjoying the view.
Why the Owner Chose Bear Mountain:
We love the many benefits that Big Bear has to offer. Great people, food, activites & weather. This house has been in the family for generations. Although it did not always look like this.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love that you can ski, board, golf, hike, bike, sled, dual sport & 4 wheel right outside the front door of our home. No need to drive & find parking when all activites are right here. We park our boat at the Pine Knot Marina in the summer & enjoy sunset boat rides.
