Why the Owner Chose Tavernier
It is a beautiful area that offers great diving, fishing and other fun activities and is easy to get to from Miami. We purchased the home in 2002 from the original owners who built it with loving care - from the beautiful wood interior walls, to the lovely long gravel driveway bordered by a natural hammock, which provides privacy and seclusion.

Fabulous sunset views of Florida Bay, great neighbors, private cove, privacy and the laid-back beauty of the Florida Keys... Feels like it's a million miles away from Miami, yet it's only an hour drive. It could be sitting on any tropical island in the Carribean, but it's in our back yard!

Great little get away!!! We have spent just a weekend in this secluded, Key Largo Home, but wished we had more time. Very private with your own little beach on the bay. Perfect for swimming and fishing. The house is very well equipped with dishes, pots, pans, linens and towels. If you like to cook, it has everything you need, if you don't there are plenty of restaurants around. We caught fresh fish that was delicious for lunch!! Would definitely come back !!!

My daughter, son in law and 2 children and I just returned from a week at this very special place in the Keys. Everything was perfect. The layout of this house is great for 2 couples or a family group. The property is wonderfully private and a big surprise for the Keys - has its own private sandy beach. Great new dock for swimming, sunning and sunsets. And did I mention swimming with the manatees right in front of the house? Thanks Diane, we will be back.

The property is very clean and well maintained but not to the extent that it blocks out nature. We got our family together in a lovely home and prepared meals together. The children built sand castles and we saw star fish and puffer fish and hermit crabs and a manatee. Shopping and restaurants are close but you do need a car. And if you have a boat available as we did it expands your good time. The weather was lovely and we enjoyed the jacuzzi - the view from the balcony is wonderful - great for relaxing. And I will recommend this to friends. Lela

Staying at Serenity by the Sea is like staying at a waterfront retreat that's been in your family for years. It feels like home--comfortable, clean and outfitted with all your favorite "stuff". The open living area looks out over Florida Bay, the spectacular new dock and (in the distance) the Intracoastal Waterway and some islands beyond. The two bedrooms with separate baths are "split"--one on each side of the living area. It's perfect for two couples...any kids can use the loft, which sits up over the living area and is accessed by a furniture-style ladder. The bedrooms have lots of glass and because the house is raised up a level, give a tree house feel. The few questions/issues we had were dealt with promptly by owners John and Diane. The property is dog-friendly, but does not have a fenced yard. This wasn't a problem for us--we kept our dog on a long line to make sure she didn't wander into the neighboring properties. If you do bring a dog, there are many, many dog-friendly restaurants nearby as well as a wonderful dog park about 15 minutes away at Founder's Park in Islamorada. For eateries, try The Turtle Club Bar next to Snapper's and Restaurant 88 at MM 88 (great waterfront patio). We would recommend Serenity by the Sea to friends or relatives and would certainly return ourselves. Since we were there for a month we drove extensively throughout the area and could find no other property that came close to the setting and privacy. While there is a canoe with the property, renting (or bringing) a small boat or motorized skiff would help maximize enjoyment of the waterfront setting. The small beach offers swimming in gradual, shallow water--great for kids.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at your beach house. Pictures just can't show how nice this property is! The location was extremely convenient. The house was clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. We appreciated you wonderful new dock. It got us just that much closer to the sunset every evening. We hope to return soon!
