Off the beaten path on a private road of exclusive homes. Spectacular views of islands, lighthouses, and lobstermen hauling their catch just yards from your private deck. Watch shore birds and an occasional seal feeding and frolicking in the crashing surf just yards away.
Newly built in 2007; equipped and comfortably furnished; two bedrooms -master with queen bed, and 2nd bedroom with two twins. High speed Internet, washer and dryer, cable TV, DVD, phone, gas log heat. Local shopping, galleries, and one of Maine's best sandy beaches are all within walking distance. Hike the rocks from private access path; walk to village, shops, galleries, and working harbor. Harborside dining; one of Maine's best sandy beaches, Pemaquid Lighthouse, historic sites, Monhegan ferry, sightseeing boats nearby. An artist's and photographer's Paradise! July and August are high season, but don't overlook the serene beauty of spring and fall when attractions are open, when most tourists are at home, and the scenery is fabulous. We open in May and don't close until late November.
The fishing village of New Harbor is near the tip of the Pemaquid Peninsula. Our lighthouse, featured on the Maine quarter coin, is world famous. Fish right from our rocky waterfront. Freshwater and harbor fishing nearby. Some of the coast's best fine dining and alfresco lobster piers are a short drive away. A fifteen minute drive to Damariscotta will bring you to a lovely, quaint riverside village with many shops, restaurants, cultural activities, movie theater, and modern hospital. Camden, Rockland, Augusta, and Boothbay Harbor (don't miss the fabulous new botanical garden!) are all well within an hour's drive. Portland Jetport 75 minutes away. Bus service to Boston from Damariscotta.

This was a wonderful place to stay. We spent hours on the rocks exploring. When tide was out there are pools left behind that are great to watch. Also the sunrise was spectacular. You had to get up early, but it was worth it. Watching the lobster boats pick up traps was a treat. There is a lot to do near by. Home made Ice cream, a cove to catch crabs, fishing, antiques, lighthouse, wonderful eating, etc. Was not far of a drive from Portland and the best part is if you want some peace and quite this was the place to go. The house itself was new, non smoking and no pets have ever been there. We so enjoyed our time here. - written by couple from Minnesota

I would recommend this property to anyone. It is well set out and maintained, it has all the things you need and more. The owners are fantastic and make you very welcome. I can recommend going to the local store ‘Riley’s’ and just generally enjoying the local area. Waking up to a view of the sea is just great. The whole family enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage.-written by family from England.

We were thrilled to find everything the photographs promised--and more, beginning with homemade brownies upon our arrival, absolutely spotless cottage, and a kitchen equipped with everything we could imagine. The cottage is right on the ocean, complete with spectacular sights and sounds. The waves and the gulls and the scent of salt air were just enchanting. There were enough activities for our family of four to fill a week, even with our eclectic tastes. There is hiking, kayaking, cruises from New Harbor (We loved Monhegan Island!), day trips to the more touristy Boothbay Harbor or antique shopping in Wiscasset, crabbing, and adequate golfing at a nearby 9-hole course. Our hosts provided a book with suggestions for restaurants and recreation, all of which lived up to our hopes and expectations. We simply loved it! - written by family from NY state
