I am a native East Texas resident, who loves the Texas Hill Country! I work for my own company: R J Trading Group, LTD, a Woman Business Enterprise (WBE) HUB certified operating in the state of Texas. I travel a lot throughout our great state of Texas. I am active in a variety of non-profit endeavors and find these ministries very fulfilling. Tennis is one of my favorite activities: I really enjoy the two tennis courts just outside my condo. We enjoy our Hill Country Retreat with family and friends. Our grandchildren especially enjoy headquartering in this condo and then venturing out to explore the Hill Country. We have recently begun geo-caching in and around the Hill Country. You will be pleased to note that there are many geo-caches very close to our villa. This is a family activity suitable for all ages. It is like a treasure hunt...just google geo-caching and you, too, will be hooked. We bring our bikes on most visits and everyone enjoys exploring the landscape one peddle at a time.

Our family has vacationed in the New Braunfels area for the past twenty-five years. About five years ago, we made the decision to purchase one condo, which we loved sharing with others. Two years later, we added another condo in the same complex. As a member of the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, I became aware that New Braunfels is one of the top THREE DESTINATIONS IN THE UNITED STATES! I KNEW there was a reason I kept coming back here to the Texas Hill Country. Come by, stay for a weekend or a week, and you'll see what I mean.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
This specific unit is nicknamed RETRO. You will enjoy the old style formica table popular back in the 1950's. This two bedroom unit enjoys private baths for each bedroom, along with a large living area, and is on the bottom floor of a two story building. The condo is beautifully furnished and looks out on two tennis courts. The swimming pool is just steps from your front door beneath the canopy of a 500 year old oak tree. There is even a kiddie pool for the little ones.

We had an amazing trip! We were 2 mins from the HEB, 5 mins from the river or Schlitterbahn. We played tennis right out the back door (condo had rackets & balls), swam in the great pool, cooked out on grill. The deer were out every evening for us to watch & feed. The condo was clean and comfy!!! Had everything we needed except our swimsuits! Thanks a ton!!

This condo exceeded our expectations. It is clean, comfortable, relaxing and the decor was pleasant and delightful! There is no reason to have to leave once you arrive, but the surrounding area offers lots to do. On one morning walk, I counted over 70 deer! We hope to be back soon. I highly recommend this unit, for your vacation. You will not be disappointed.

We have stayed at this rental a few times and have found it to be very comfortable. We enjoy staying in this condo because it feels like a home away from home. The property is nestled in the beautiful Texas hill country. The wildlife here is amazing. The deer are so close you would think you could touch them. The condo is conveniently located just minutes away from tons of activities. We spent time in Gruene, Sea World, the outlet malls, and the river walk. There are many things to do on the condo property as well, like swim, play tennis and spend time in nature. Inside the condo you can find various amenities, such as extremely comfortable beds, spacious living area, and a full kitchen equipped with all you could need for a great meal. The rental was very clean and everything was working properly. I loved having a washer and dryer while we were here. It made vacationing that much better. The rental provided more than enough convenience, comfort, and fun for our family. The owners were very easy to deal with. It is easy to see that they are a family oriented couple with great personalities and values. Also, the neighbors who reside in the neighboring condos were very friendly and helpful with information on the surrounding area. All in all this was a very peaceful and relaxing stay. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this rental to any of my family and friends.

We stayed at this condo last summer and it was wonderful! We could not have been more pleased. It was newly updated, and we loved the decor. Really comfortable. All of the beds were extremely cozy. (Be warned, you may want to sleep in!) This condo had everything we needed ... washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, two nice full bathrooms, cute kitchen, etc. Everything! Walk right out your back door and play tennis! And it's so conveniently located to all of the attractions in and around New Braunfels. We had a wonderful time! We highly recommend this property, and hopefully it will be available when we plan our return to the area this year. Oh, and if you have a larger group going, these super-nice owners have an equally attractive, almost adjacent, three-bedroom property in the same complex.

This rental is in an awesome location. You are close to the town of New Braunfels but this place is located in what feels like the country. There were deer walking all over the place and the kids love it! On the property there is a swimming pool which is really nice, and has a kiddies pool for the little ones. The condo is very tastefully decorated, clean and extremely comfortable. Everything looks like new! Being downstairs really worked for us as we were not wanting to deal with stairs. This place has a full kitchen and not the tiny one you usually get when staying at a hotel. Oh and it has two full bathrooms which is great for showering lots of people after a day on the river or Schlitterbahn. We were surprised at how quiet it was at night, no road noise and no partiers! Would def reccomend this place to anyone looking for more than your average hotel!

Rented Jan. 1 through Mar. 31, 2011. Pros: -- Perfect for "Winter Texans" or anyone renting for an extended period; walk-in closets in both bedrooms, comfortable beds & great room furniture. -- Owners were very accommodating when we emailed them a list our 2nd day of all the items needed in the kitchen. They brought us everything on our list plus more. Made cooking for ourselves and friends very easy & there is lots of storage space in the kitchen. Cons: -- We were quoted a monthly rate in an email; received the contract, signed it and mailed it back. It was not until later (but before our rental started) that we realized the rate in the contract was $20.00 more per month than quoted in the email. When we wrote to ask about it the response was "per contract". So, be sure your quoted rate and the contract are the same before signing. -- The five large windows in the living area and the two glass storm doors were so dirty you could barely see out of them - we washed the inside/outside of all. -- There is a large gap at the back door (and we even had a bird visit us and fly around the condo for a couple hours -- finally flew out through the same gap he entered). -- There was some very cold weather (snow/ice) during our stay and cold air streamed in through the doors/windows and the emergency connection to the heat pump was not connected, so we spent many days with inside temps just barely over 50 degrees! -- The VRBO listing indicates a fireplace with "wood provided on site". There was no equipment to use for stoking a fire and when we asked the owner about wood were told it was not provided and they picked up wood while walking in the woods or bought it and used a stick to stoke the fire. -- There was no bedding available for the blow-up mattress. -- If you plan to read in the evenings be aware there is only one light in the living area - high in the ceiling; and one small bedside light in the master bedroom. -- TV is out of date and small. -- If you are overweight be aware that access to the toilet/tub area will be difficult. But there is easy access to the double sinks in both bathrooms. -- Uncomfortable outdoor furniture consists of a small metal table and two metal chairs with no cushions. There is one other uncomfortable chair. -- Grills on the property are useless; very dirty; never saw anyone cook on them, & even several owners we met were disgusted with the upkeep. -- Had to request return of our security deposit - not automatic.

Our Winter Texans stayed for 2 & 1/2 months, leaving the middle of March, 2010. They were very pleased with the amenities, expecially our Texas weather, which was a lot warmer than Minnesota. This couple is recommending our villa to their brother and his wife for next January - March 2011! They are a delightful couple and we are blessed to have them here in Texas: if only for a few months!
