Pearadise was wonderful! The house had a very homey inviting feel. It was bigger than we imagined. We all fit comfortably. The kitchen was fantastic and fully stocked with many cooking essentials. We ate all of our meals together at the house. The dining area both inside and out was big enough for all of us to sit together and enjoy our meals. The house is in a great location. We ran or biked to The Armstrong Redwoods several times. We utilized the dock, canoe and kayak daily. The house was so amazing that we stayed there a majority of the time. We planned on going to wineries and the beach, but Pearadise allowed us to have such a fun, relaxing atmosphere to enjoy each other’s company that we just stayed there. Penny and Mike mentioned in every correspondence that if we needed anything they were a phone call away. We never had to call, everything went seamlessly. My entire family agreed that Pearadise was wonderful; no one wanted to go back to reality.

Our stay in Pearadise was a pleasure from the start. The house is comfortable and well equipped. Our grandchildren, ranging in age from 11 to 20, all swimmers, said it was the best house we've stayed in yet. They spent many hours down on the dock and in the water. Having the dock in our backyard was a big attraction and the family didn't feel the need to go anywhere else. They did avail themselves of the Sonoma Canopy Tours zip line on the last day and had a great time. Oh yes, all the birdlife around was a big plus too. My husband is an avid birdwatcher and he has "infected" the rest of the family! We highly recommend a stay in Pearadise.

This cabin fulfilled my most ideal expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend this cabin to you. All the rooms were very spacious, and the kitchen and living room spaces were perfect! We used the Canoe and Kayaks, and even swam in the lake. Everything is very accessible around the cabin. All dishes, utensils, and any kitchen item you can think of are provided. Ample towel and linens are provided. The dock was beautiful. On a clear summer blue sky day, we just sat on the dock in silence, listening to the sounds of nature (like the streams and soft warm breeze through the trees). We did this both during the day and at night, and both times felt majestic. I can not sing enough praise of my stay. I loved staying here so much, and I will book another visit soon. The memories we had here will last a lifetime. Please don't waste time looking for other listings - this is it - the real deal; the stuff dreams are made of. The best part about the whole process, though, was Penny. She was extremely kind, cheerful, and positive in all her responses. She is very accommodating through the entire steps from booking to arriving, to security deposit return. She was always on call during our stay in case we had any problems, and she answered all questions or problems immediately. In brief - end your hunt now, and book this place! You will thank me later, and you could not be happier! Have fun at "Pearadise!"

The house was better than the description! We had a girls weekend and could not have had a better time. The 95 degree weather coupled with immediate river/dock access was amazing. The availability of coolers to bring down to the dock was a pleasant surprise! Thank you Penny!

I just returned from a tour of California that spanned from San Diego to Riverside, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sebastopol, & finally, Guerneville. Of all the places visited, Pearadise was by far the most extraordinary part of the vacation! Upon arrival, I was impressed by the location of the property. Not only is it situated in the heart of wine country in Sonoma County, but it is located right on the Russian River, and less than a mile from town. It was less than 2 miles away from several vineyards, including the famous Korbel winery, as well as Porter-Bass, a small family owned vineyard. The property itself is picturesque. There is an upper & lower deck, & both have stunning views of the Russian River & the luscious redwoods. There is a private dock on the river, where my friends and I enjoyed meditating, practicing yoga & sunbathing. There was a plentiful amount of water sport equipment & we took the canoe out for an adventure on the river. It was great spending time on the dock sipping coffee, reading & writing in my journal! The interior of the home is clean with lovely decor. Honestly, the pictures do the property no justice because everything is so much more beautiful in person. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils, pots & pans. There was a barbecue and plenty of patio furniture for those who wanted to enjoy eating outside. We had everything we needed to prepare some fantastic group breakfasts & dinners. One of the highlights (aside from all the fun river activity) was taking advantage of the jacuzzi. We had found ourselves in Sonoma because we were performing in a dance festival and taking lots of dance workshops for the duration of our stay. The evening dip in the jacuzzi was the perfect ending to a dance-filled day for all of us! We were also able to enjoy dinner in town (there are a few cute restaurants), a trip to Armstrong Woods (less than 2 miles away), and some even ventured out to Sonoma County Beach (25 minute drive), and the girls who went claimed it was one of the most beautiful beaches they had ever been to. There were also several nearby river beaches, although we did not find the time to take advantage of those. Pearadise made this trip into an actual vacation, something I desperately needed in the wake of overwhelming responsibility. I will recommend this to anyone I know headed that way, & I hope to find myself back in Pearadise again someday!

When we walked into Pearadise, we were ecstatic! The house is roomy, clean and well-furnished. The kitchen is gorgeous and well-stocked. We had 12 people in our party and every person was very satisfied with their room and bathroom accomodations. The deck and all its furnishinging were perfect to relax on and enjoy views of the Russian River. The jacuzzi was large and in a great location to view the river while socializing. We all felt so wonderfully comfortable that we hope to rent Pearadise again next year.

I would highly recommend Pearadise for a comfortable stay in the Russian River Valley. The house is neat and spacious, spread out over two floors. Our group enjoyed the accommodations as well as the view out the back patios of the river and the surrounding landscape. It's also in a good location to bounce around to wineries without having to drive too far. We did not swim in the river, but it is definitely possible and a very short walk out the back door. The Jacuzzi was a nice way to end the day in relaxation. I would definitely recommend this property and will likely look to come back in the future.

I went to Pearadise with 10 of my friends and my fiance to celebrate my 30th birthday. We had such a great weekend hanging out at the house and visiting wineries. The house is clean, fully stocked and in a great location, and Penny was very easy to deal with. We can't wait to come back in the summer so we can take full advantage of the river!

My wife and I and three other couples stayed at Pearadise in mid October and had a great experience. The house amenities were comprehensive and included a well stocked kitchen for cooking, modern and roomy bedrooms and baths and one of the nicest docks along this stretch of river. The house is well located on River Road just outside of Guerneville and is easily accessible from the 101. We'd definitely stay at Pearadise again and highly recommend it.

We had a great time at Pearadise for my brother's 40th birthday. The house was even better than the pictures can convey and spacious enough for 12 people to relax in. Directions, instructions from the owner, everything was clear as can be and any questions I had prior to arrival were answered promptly and in detail. We planned initially to spend a full day wine tasting, but ended up just enjoying the house all day. One group enjoyed football upstairs, another watched a movie downstairs, some were in the hot tub, some were fishing and some just lounged on the deck. The river-front location was, in a word, idyllic! We did take a couple of dips in the river, but can't wait to come back during warmer weather so we can take full advantage of the dock. Cooking meals in the well-equipped kitchen was easy even for a group of 12, with plenty of place settings and seats for everyone. It was just a perfect location for a perfectly relaxing weekend. Plus the beds were SO comfy! We did an all-adult weekend this time, but the house is already on our summer family vacation list! Thanks Michael & Penny, we'll be back!

                  Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 2007

                  Why the Owner Chose Guerneville:
Our families have been vacationing at "The River" since Penny's grandfather rode the train from San Francisco to his "cabin in the redwoods" in the late 1800's. Over the past 100+ years, 4 generations of our families have spent their vacations here (with a 5th generation on the way!) In 2007, Penny & Mike purchased and remodeled "Pearadise" to provide the most comfortable and fun year round vacation retreat for our expanding family. We use the income from VRBO (since January 2009) to maintain and improve the property. Our latest project was to build in a fireplace and mantel (to restore the one that was removed when the house was raised by the previous owners) and replace the carpet with a "green" product (made from recycled plastic pop bottles.) This was completed in December 2009.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love being ON the river: water sports (swimming, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, etc.), visiting friends on the river, exploring, fishing, and observing (people during the warm Summer and spectacular nature during the pleasant Spring and Fall and even in the chilly Winter!) We also enjoy BBQing and entertaining on our spectacular deck, cooking in the great kitchen and bar areas, gaming and movies in the downstairs "game room" and having lots of room for folks to "do their own thing" too. Local activities that we like to do include: hiking and biking (especially in Armstrong Woods and around Austin Creek), eating in the many good local restaurants, wine tasting treks, driving out to the ocean (Jenner is only 10 miles away), shopping in the funky town of Guerneville, movies at the Rio Theater, Pee Wee golf and many annual events and festivals (Jazz & Blues festivals, Civil War Days, Stumptown Parade, July 4th fireworks, Bohemian Show, Sonoma County Fair, Apple Fair, Vine Man triathlons, RR rodeo, and Wine Road activities to name just a few.)
