We stayed here in June of 2011, in looking for a vacation home we wanted one with enough room for the in-laws, two teen girls, and a dog. We contacted the owner who immediately answered our questions and put our minds at ease about taking the dog. When we got there we were delighted with how clean the house was and they had two pet gates if needed! Towels were plentiful as we all enjoyed the hot tub after busy days of jeeping in the nearby National Forest and white water rafting on the Arkansas river. The decks were large enough, but we enjoyed the mornings by opening all the doors and windows and had coffee while enjoying the views of the mountain range. The owner leaves a hummingbird feeder for you to fill and place near the kitchen window and the hummingbirds are plentiful. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, cups, glasses, plates, and dinnerware and we enjoyed the grill on the deck. The teens loved the hot tub and spent hours out there one night and had two deer come very close to the deck. There was a wood pellet stove in a corner of the living room and we're tempted to come back with snow on the ground and experience a winter in Colorado! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We loved the home and all the amenities. Everything was clean and the view was spectacular. Our daughter and her family joined us and we all enjoyed the hot tub. The complete absence of city lights made star gazing and night photography a special added attraction, however we were farther from Buena Vista than we thought we would be.

We loved this cabin!! There was PLENTY of room for everyone, everything was clean and neat. The rooms were large, the beds were comfortable. The area was beautiful. The hot tub was amazing and very large. It was private yet close enough to shops and dining. The cabin is also close to river rafting, jeep trails, and many other activities. The owners provided shampoo, soaps, hair dryers, laundry detergent and softener and so many other things you wouldn't think of. It was truly like being at home only better. We also enjoyed the squirrels and chipmunks, they were so cute. My children had loads of fun feeding & watching them. We have stayed at many places over the years and when I ask my children what ones were their favorites, this place is at the top of their list. If we ever make it back to Colorado we would definitely stay here again with fond memories. Thanks for sharing your cabin with us!!

This cabin was absolutely fantastic. The pictures do not do it justice. The views from the deck are incredible. The amenities were perfect and the property was very well maintained. It was close to so many activities. The owner gave us many suggestions as well which turned out perfectly. Everything from fishing to whitewater rafting and restaurants. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely return to Spirit Rest.

Our family of 5 spent a full week at Spirit Rest the first week of August. We arrived to find a very clean, comfortable home to enjoy for our summer vacation. The listing was very true to what this property was all about. We were close to all the family destinations offered in the areas both east and west of the property. The house is extremely clean and spacious and we spent a great deal of time simply relaxing and enjoying the house and the scenery. We had a great time each morning watching the chipmunks play and in the early evening watching the deer and jack-rabbits all around the area. The hot-tub was great, and the DVD movie selection included several titles we had never seen. Bedding was plentiful and comfortable and the living room was furnished nicely and felt like home. The cool weather in August was a welcomed relief from our normal Texas August. We hated to leave on our last morning at Spirit Rest, but we have some great pictures and video of our time spent there. The Bunnell's are wonderful hosts and very attentive to the details and needs of their guests. We would definitely stay here again, and would recommend Spirit Rest to any family looking to enjoy a great week of activities near the Collegiate Peaks. Thank you Roger and Allie!

Comments left by guest in cabin guestbook*****We enjoyed cooking out each night, seeing the deer prance thru the property and the hummingbirds...and we loved the views. The kids I think liked getting in the hot tub the best ( several times a day)... no cookies though (smiling face) he. he. Thank for having us! We had a wonderful time in your beautiful home.
