Why the Owner Chose Idaho Springs

The beauty of this setting speaks for itself. The seclusion, the forest, the mountains create a spirit of quiet and relaxation. The soothing sound of rushing water eases away any tension in your body, mind and soul. It is truly a spiritually refershing place, as Dad always said.

The Unique Benefits at this House

The Lodge is big enough to allow the whole family. We enjoy games, relaxing, building a fire, staring out the picture window at the mountains. It is truly a getaway. In the winter, we sled, snowmobile, snowshoe, or just stay warm by t e fire. In the summer we hike, fish, mountain bike, run the trails, enjoy the wildflowers, have big bonfires by the creek!

A
Fall River Reservoir

About 3 miles up the Jeep road. Great fishing in summer, beautiful for hiking with many waterfalls. Surrounded by peaks. Accessible in winter by snowmobie, snowshoes, or cross-country skis.

B
St. Mary's Glacier

Really just a year-round snow field, it is a nice hike to the lake at the base of the glacier. Beautiful views. About 1 mile hike, fairly steep, but worth it! Access during winter by snowshoes.

C
Town of Idaho Springs

Restaurants, shops, grocery stores. Also, several mines are open for tours. Argo Mine and Phoenix Mine tours are fun for the entire family. Several White Water Rafting companies offer many grades o

D
Loveland Ski Area

The closest skiing to The Lodge, Loveland is a favorite for locals, because it is not overly commercialized. Awesome powder!

E
Winter Park Ski Area

World-Class Skiing only 50 minutes away! All the amenities you would expect from a ski resort. Beautiful drive up Berthoud Pass. Alpine Slide in summer.

Owner's Map of Idaho Springs

We are the Steitz Family. We purchased this beautiful land in 1996. We enjoyed it for camping and hiking for many years. Our parents had a dream to build a "cabin" that the whole family could use together. Our dad began work on the bridge in October, 2003. He suddenly and unexpectedly passed away in February, 2004 of a heart attack. We decided to build "The Invincible Lodge" in his memory, and it was completed in May, 2007. The Invincible Lodge has already been a blessing to many people, Dad would be proud!

IT'S ALL TRUE !!!

Everything that you read on this page is all true! We couldn't imagine anything else that could have made our stay nicer. The perfect place to get away from it all & unwind in seclusion. The beds, towels & sheets are of top quality for comfort. The kitchen had everything we needed. The peace & quiet was wonderful. Plenty of room to be together in the great room, yet plenty of room for privacy too. We enjoyed using the firepit to make smores and sitting on the deck listening to the sounds of the crystal clear creek. Although it was 80 degrees in Boulder there was snow on the ground at the lodge! What a nice surprise! David responded right away to my many e-mails and returned our full security deposit within 2 weeks of our stay.... All in all a great vacation!

Wonderful for Families

Guest: Texas Family (DFW Texas)
Date of Stay: 06/13/09 Review Submitted: 10/26/10

My family - My wife and I, our 6 kids, two of their friends, my son-in-law and grandson, my mother and mother-in-law spent a week in the Invincible Lodge in June of 2009. The house was wonderfully constructed and tastefully decorated. The number of bedrooms with private baths (4) was perfect with an abundance of informal sleeping arrangements in the 3 different living areas on 3 different floors (plus the foldout couch in the office). Great sense of privacy with lots of scenic hiking up the road to the resevoir or nearby at St. Mary's Glacier. David (owner) was great to work with. Worth every penny and then some. Thanks Steitz family!
