The cabin is in a great location and clean and well-maintained. I would describe the cabin as small and cozy that accommodates 6, but that is not generally expandable to a larger group. The owners provided clear instructions for opening and closing up the cabin, and for the spa. They also provided other useful information about the area as well as a list of emergency contacts if needed. We would recommend this cabin to friends or relatives.

My wife and I (and 4 friends) recently stayed here for a few days over the holidays. This is definitely a "re-visit" cabin. It has all the cool rustic qualities you expect in a Tahoe cabin, with the bonuses of modern amenities. Want to cuddle up in front of the wood stove, and maybe take a dip in the whirlpool? No problem. Or, maybe you want to sit on the couch, watch some DVDs (a large selection already in the house), hook your ipod up to the Bose stereo, and use the cabin's computer to surf the web? You could do that, too. Overall, it's a great cabin with parking for about 4 cars, well appointed, and located in a great location (across the street from the lake, and close to all the North Tahoe ski resorts). We'll be back for sure. Maybe this time during the summer for a mountain biking trip...

The cabin is very cozy and comfortable. We (2 couples and 2 small dogs) enjoyed the hot tub and cooking in the kitchen. There was more than enough space for all of us. The cabin was clean and well-maintained and had the little touches to make it feel homey. Access to the lake was a plus. Doug was very prompt in his replies and answering any questions, and we felt that it was reasonably priced. All in all, we had a great time and look forward to a return visit!

We (a couple and a small dog) spent the last few days of summer in this Tahoe cabin. We had a fun and relaxing time and enjoyed coming home to the the cabin at the end of a hard day hiking and mountain biking. The house is well located for some fun and unexplored hikes as well as being close to food stores and restaurants. The cabin was very comfortable, and the master bedroom was particularly nice to wake up in every morning. The hot tub became quite a theme, especially given the requirement to ease our aching muscles! Also, since we do not have a television is was quite a novelty to have a TV complete we a good cable package! The only draw back was the road noise, but we assume it would be much quieter come snowfall. Overall, we had an enjoyable and comfortable visit and would recommend the cabin to all.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this lovely, cozy cabin. It is perfect for a family get away. There are lots of games, books, and videos for kids. The kitchen is great for cooking and has everything you need to make a meal. We loved sitting in the hot tub and enjoying the stars at night time. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Plenty of space for a family get away. Also, a great deal for the price. I would also recommend eating at the Wild Goose - great restaurant - excellent food and service. The only draw back is you can hear the traffic noise from the highway when you are outside but inside it is very quiet. Overall, it was a great experience and would come back again and recommend it to our friends. Thank you, Doug!

Our family truly enjoyed our stay here - the house and its location were great. We were looking for a dog friendly home to rent and the cabin was ideal. As a bonus, it has an HOA with lake access. This made it convenient to head down and enjoy the lake. The owner is extremely responsive, promptly answering all our questions and confirming the details - somthing I found important when renting. The cabin was clean and maitained - we would recommend it to anyone interested in a property on the North Shore.

You won't be disappointed with this beautiful lake retreat! The Fontain cabin is fully updated and tastefully decorated to reflect the casual outdoor vibe Lake Tahoe exudes. Centrally located, you're about 15mins or less from either Kings Beach or Tahoe City. There's a forest service access road right behind the development, which we explored on several outings. As avid hikers, we found plenty of trails that were essentially void of people. The TRT is close by and easily accessed. Not into hiking? The private dock and HOA beach is a perfect place to swim. Our Lab loved jumping off the dock! I appreciated the communal sharing of spices and condiments...I loved not having to lug my own salt/pepper, mayo etc from home! It's all there folks. We just resupplied what was low...what can be easier than that? The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, pots and pans, and every convenience you'd want in your own kitchen. As an avid cook, I didn't have a problem whipping up some pretty fantastic fare. I hope I didn't convince too many of you to book...I want this place to myself! Oh, did I mention Doug is a quick replier to emails? Can't say that of the other owners I inquired to..he had us at "hello". Thank you Doug and Lisa for your outstanding hospitality!

I've rented several cabins/houses from VRBO over the last several years and this by far exceeds all of them and is very affordable for what you get. The cabin is a great of mixture old (not worn down) mixed with new decor and appliances with lots of eco-friendly touches. The cabin is well stocked with supplies and linens and this is the first time I've seen beach towels offered, which is nice for the hot tub too! The location is perfectly suited, couple minutes drive to either Tahoe City or Kings Beach. I certainly plan on coming back here and will strongly recommend this place to family and friends. The owner, Doug, was very helpful and answered all my questions promptly. Can't wait for another visit to Tahoe!

We stayed here over President's Weekend and the traffic from the Bay Area was enough to make anyone give up and turn around, so we were very grateful for this lovely cabin when we finally arrived. This is a great place for families; with tons of picture books and games on store, you don't need to bring much from home to keep everyone happy. The beds are super comfortable, the art work and decorating is tasteful, and there's nothing like relaxing in a hot tub while it's snowing on your head! Two thumbs up!

We love this cabin. We stayed here last year and couldn't wait to come back. Staying here is like staying at the home of a good friend, who happens to have great taste, and has gone over and above to make sure that your stay is as comfortable as possible; it feels like a home away from home. There is no shortage of things to do here after a day of skiing. Some of the things we loved: great selection of books (for kids and adults), the games, well-stocked kitchen, hot tub, the fireplace, and the proximity to Lake Tahoe. This cabin is a find.

We went there for a quiet weekend - 2 humans and a dog. The cabin was just perfect for us. It was comfortable and cozy with everything we needed. The bbq was awesome, the master bedroom was beautiful, and we love the red fridge! We ended up getting really nice weather and everything just worked out great. Definitely a nice surprise to find a great music, movie, and book selection there (not to mention the amazing audio system!!). We really enjoyed the hot tub as the sun set and the stars came out. The colored lights in the hot tub were fun too, we even discovered the strobe... for about 10 seconds. :)

This cabin is awesome. My teenage girls cannot stop gushing about how wonderful everything was. A cabin with lots of supplies and conveniences. The hot tub was great at night, star gazing. The deck was lovely for family bbq. Close to Kings Beach which had a sandy beach, restaurants, Safeway grocery store and outfitters for parasailing, kayaks & pedal boats. Would definitely be back. We <3 this cabin and Tahoe!!

This is a wonderful cabin! It was spacious enough for our group of 5 and had a very cozy feel to it. And 3 full baths?! Can't beat that. Location is great -- close to several resorts, grocery stores & restaurants. The owners really ensure you're taken care of prior & during your stay. They communicate with you, provide detailed info and ensure the home is stocked with everything you need when away from home (quality stuff, not that generic motel soap & 1 roll of toilet paper). Thanks so much for your hospitality Doug & Lisa!

This cabin was a perfect introduction to Tahoe. I loved the homey feel. What I really appreciated was that the cabin had pans and good knives to use. (This is not always the case when renting someone else 2nd home) Overall a great place to stay!

This is the perfect place! The private HOA beach and pier is awesome, the house is totally charming with super comfy bedding, a well-equipped kitchen, plenty of privacy, excellent location, tons of natural light and the finest clawfoot tub I've ever encountered. As a former Tahoe native, I truly appreciate all that this property has to offer. And if that wasn't enough, the owners are so gracious and friendly.

My family recently stayed here for one last spring ski weekend. We were so impressed with it's hip and stylish interiors. The owners obviously have great style. The kitchen was well stocked with all we needed from great bar items to cool dishes. We also loved the cedar walls and funky red fridge! The beds are comfortable and outfitted with quality linens. There is a beautiful fireplace for the winter and decks off the dining room and living room for summer. The cabin is located across he street from the lake and 15 minutes from our favorite kid friendly skiing, Alpine Meadows. We have found our new Tahoe destination!

We loved our stay in this cabin at the end of March. It is so nicely decorated and cozy, you just feel so comfortable you almost don't want to leave the cabin. But if you do leave the cabin you have great skiing at Northstar just a 15 minute drive away. We would love to go back both in the winter to ski and in the summer to enjoy the lake just across the street.

What a score! We stayed here over New Year's and had a great time. My husband and I especially enjoyed the romantic peek-a-boo lake view from the loft and taking bubble baths in the claw foot tub. The owner's rustic meets modern decor made me feel like I was staying in a house right out of the pages of Dwell. Super comfy beds and well stocked kitchen were definitely a plus.......and just down the road from our two favorite ski spots......Alpine and Northstar.

We stayed here in November and it was a wonderful place. Very warm and inviting with a great cabin appeal but still some modern comforts to enjoy. We loved the big decks, the neighborhood and the views. I want to go back in the summer to enjoy the lake which is so very close and Safeway only five minutes away in either direction.
