Enjoy the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the comfort of our Wintergreen chalet. Whether you're hitting the slopes, hitting the trails, or hitting the links, this is the place to stay at Wintergreen's four season resort. Multiple decks provide miles of spectacular sunset views and an ideal spot for stargazing. Step into the great room to enjoy those views in the warmth provided by the huge stone fireplace.

This home is located on Devils Knob Loop, the highest part of the mountain. We're adjacent to the scenic Blue Ridge Overlook - a great area to picnic, throw a ball around, or begin a hike. It's a popular spot for weddings, photographers, and sunset watchers. Hiking trails are within minutes. It's a short walk to the 14th hole and a few minutes to the Wintergarden Pool and Spa, the Golf and Tennis clubhouses, and the Mountain Inn.

As you arrive at the home, privately situated on more than 1/2 acre, you'll find a detached, two-car garage and ample parking upon the paved drive. Follow the lighted decking to the front door. Inside, you'll find 3,300 sf. with 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths spread over three floors that all offer endless views south and west. The top floor holds the Master suite. The Master bath provides a whirlpool tub and separate shower. A second bedroom is also located on the top floor. Both bedrooms have private balconies.

The main floor includes the newly remodeled gourmet kitchen (including new appliances and granite countertops) and adjacent dining room that seats 11 comfortably. They share a double-sided wood burning fireplace with the great room. A third bedroom with a full bath and a foyer with powder room complete the main level.

The lower level holds a spacious family room with two bedrooms and two full baths. Both bedrooms contain bunk beds, twin over full (twin on top, full on the bottom)...ideal for kids and comfortable for adults.

DirecTV is provided at the house for your enjoyment, on a 32" flat screen TV in the great room and another TV in the family room. Washer and dryer are located on the lower level.

Wintergreen is a four season resort with something for everyone. Skiing and snow tubing are a three minute drive down Wintergreen Drive. The resort offers 45 holes of Championship golf. Devils Knob, the highest golf course in Virginia, provides 18 holes of mountain golf with dramatic elevation changes and scenic vistas. Stoney Creek, at the bottom of the Mountain, has 27 holes designed by Rees Jones. Wintergreen is also a Top 50 tennis resort (indoor and outdoor) and has endless hiking trails, swimming, and spa services. Take the kids to the Dome, the rock wall at Out of Bounds, or enroll them in the renowned Treehouse children's programs.   • I am a frequent visitor to Wintergreen but this was the first time I stayed in this house. It was very nice with plenty of room for all 6 of us. The house is in a very nice spot at the tippy top of the mountain. The views and sunsets were the best. Love Wintergreen and love this house. I will definitely stay here again.

  • This house is spectacular, we spent Sept 3-Sept 7 at this lovely home, the owners were kind enough to allow us to come up the night before so we could be rested/unpacked and ready to hit the trails...and all the fun festivities. The pictures do justice to the quality furniture and spectacular views from every angle in the house. But there are some unmentioned bonuses..like the high thread count Egyption sheets in the masterbedroom, this house is something out better home and gardens (Mountain style!) It was really nice to arrive at our destination and find a peaceful, clean, luxurious home..it even had games, electric piano and surprises throughout the home. We loved cooking in the gourmet kitchen and loved the proximity of the Overlook right next door..so many great things to say about this. Be ready for a steep climb up the black diamond driveway, we enjoyed the excersize but it can be a challenge! Loved working with the thoughtful owners Scott and Nathalie!

We were looking for a place to relax and unwind from the business of the Wash DC area, and we found it at this property. We will definitely return.

  • We spent the last week of July 2009 at this beautiful mountain house. Our four granchildren loved the playroom, the Overlook and the stream at the Nature Preserve.They also managed to find some time to visit the swimming pool. The adults enjoyed the hiking trails and the tennis courts, as well as the golf course.Some of us also took advantage of the services at the fabulous Day Spa. The house is very comfortable and spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen. The view is spectacular, and we spent a lot of time on the deck. We'd love to come back some day!

  • What a great place. My family spent 4 days this past August (09)in this very comfortable home. The views from the deck and the adjoining overlook were wonderful. The only negative was that the area had no cell phone coverage. We probably needed a break from the cell phones anyways.The owners are great to work with.

  • Our family will be back to this wonderful home. The rental is close to the slopes and the spa. We sat on the deck in the morning and took in breath-taking views and lit a warm fire in the gorgeous stone fireplace and cooked all of our after ski-slope meals in this homes beautiful kitchen. The owners have thought of everything and exceeded our expectations. Snow season is almost here and we cannot wait to enjoy a week of family fun once again. I believe the resort has year round activities and this rental would be perfect for any time of year. Very Cozy and enjoyable home.
