Leave the car at home and walk to the beach and to all shops, restaurants, etc., from this lovely 2 bedroom/2 bathroom, very private pool home in the charming, low-rise, oceanside neighborhood of Lauderdale by the Sea, on Fort Lauderdale's north side.

The house is a 5 minute walk to Lauderdale by the Sea's beautiful beach and village center with its restaurants, cafe's and shops, and a 5-10 minutes walk to the large grocery store, more restaurants and cafe's, banks/ATM's, pharmacies, bicycle/scooter rental, etc.

The house is a 10-15 minutes drive to downtown Fort Lauderdale, the River Walk, the Las Olas Boulevard neighborhood, Sebastian Beach and Wilton Manors, a 40-60 minutes drive to Miami/South Beach/Coconut Grove, a 20-25 minutes drive to Sawgrass Mills Outlet shopping; longer drives, but manageable for day trips, include Everglades National Park and the Florida Keys.

This charming property is light, airy, tranquil and faithful to its mid-century design roots. It features original terrazzo floors, jalousie windows, and cross-floor plan light, and it has a fully equipped modern kitchen in an open plan setting connected to the living and dining areas and leading out to the pool and back garden.

It is truly a single-family, detached property, with a very private garden and pool area, not a "2 under 1 roof villa" or townhouse or condominium. It's a happy, relaxing home and get-a-way for families and for adults, and/or for both!

The house is decorated with an eclectic mix of contemporary, vintage and design classic furniture and lighting for a relaxing South Florida ambiance. The 2 bedrooms, one of which looks out over the pool area, each have their own bathrooms.

The private back garden and pool area is lush with mature, mostly indigenous trees, and xeriscaped with drought resistant plantings and grasses. The result is a calming and tranquil atmosphere. Gas BBQ grill, landscape lighting, sun loungers and dining furniture all make for comfortable outdoor living.

Spend days and evenings at the pool and cook and BBQ at home, or sample the village's many local restaurants and cafe's. Enjoy swimming and walks on the unspoiled, wide-open beach.

Wireless internet, cable TV, and a sound system docking station for guests is provided. The kitchen is stocked with all necessary cooking equipment to ensure enjoyment of stress-free dining at home. Central air conditioning, washer and dryer, flat screen TV and DVD. One bedroom has a queen size bed, and the second bedroom has two single/twin beds which can be joined (great for kids and/or for friends).

This property is in a quiet, safe, residential neighborhood and can accommodate up to 4 guests. Out of respect for our neighbors, we are not available for parties or group gatherings. There is no smoking inside the house, but smoking outdoors is fine.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes

The village of Lauderdale by the Sea is low-rise and low-key, very close to all the activities and buzz of greater Fort Lauderdale, and of Miami and South Beach, but very relaxing and laid back. With height restrictions on buildings, the village has saved its lovely beach from marching high-rise condominiums. It's great for families and friends who want to have time together, and for people who just want to relax, de-compress and recharge.

The Unique Benefits at this Single Family Home

It is a walker's dream. Quite a few renters choose not to rent a car. Everything, including the beach, is 5-10 minutes walk from the house, maximum! And the pool and garden are incredibly peaceful and relaxing, and totally private.

After years of living overseas and renting the house in Lauderdale by the Sea out to long term tenants, I moved to Florida in 2007 and lived in the house for a while myself. Its location and the ease of walking everywhere, particularly to the beautiful beach, encouraged me to rent it out to vacationers and holiday makers.

    • We (family of 4 plus 1) stayed in July 09 for approx. 2 weeks at this nice house in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. The house is very well equipped,everything necessary is available. Also the house and interior is in an excellent condition (the owner maintains the house at a high level). We liked inside the house very much the well/modern equipped kitchen! and outside the pool and nice barbecue. The house is located in a very safe and friendly area, approx. 8-10 walking distance (crossing of 1A1 required) of the beach. The LBS Anglins Fishing Pier, Shops/Supermarket and Restaurants are as well in 5-10 min walking distance from the house. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I would rent this house again, and do recommend this house.
