My wife and I have been vacationing in the keys together since 2005, always in a different location and usually with the kids. But the Treehouse has made it hard to think about going anywhere else. This is a perfect place for 2 or a small family. The pictures don’t do it justice. The only way to appreciate this place is to be there. Its private and quiet, the highway noise that someone mentioned, is so minimal you have to really try to hear it and what you could hear was relaxing to us being from the city. The sunset views from the dock with a frozen concoction in hand, unbelievable. I took some with me to Afghanistan they were that good (pictures, not the drinks). The house has a bait freezer downstairs and a cleaning table on the dock that is invaluable if you’re fishing. Docking the boat even at low tide was no problem (18 ft with 16in draft). The house is exceptionally well maintained and comfortable. The landscaping is classic Keys and well maintained. The island tempo is exactly what the Keys is all about, laid back and relaxed. The local fishermen are friendly and welcoming and there is nothing like seafood/lobster right off the boat and onto the grill. The local store/marina was as convenient as you could want for bait, last minute tackle, snacks and ice, 5 min on foot. We didn’t have a chance to eat at the restaurant but it was busy every night. They have a boat ramp at the store for visitors to use (small fee) and it 5 min around the island to the Treehouse dock. Access to the Bay and the ocean were perfect and we would choose one or the other based on weather conditions. Sea life right off the dock will keep you entertained as well. Randy is a very gracious host and professional in his business. He gave us some advice on places to eat in Marathon that were outstanding. He even offered us more time to hang out during severe weather at check out time, if that happens again, we will definitely sit tight, that was a mess! lol. There are many places to stay in the Keys, but after 8 years, this place is now our favorite and we are booking for 2013. We would certainly recommend this to our friends.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We just got home from the best little slice of paradise, and miss it already. If you are looking for the ultimate in Keys escapes, this is the place. The small island, the lush greens, tropical paradise found! We are from the country and were hesitant about being so close to neighbors, roads, and noise for our stay. We were pleasantly supirsed at everything this place has to offer. We had our kids (10 & 12) with us, and they were able to walk to the corner store and get ice-cream without even a worry. The people of the island are friendly but not overly instrusive. We were within minutes of either Islamorada or Marathon to take in all the restaurants & touristy things. Randy the owner was very friendly & helpful with suggestions on things to take in & see. Without a doubt the best suggestion of his was to go out fishing with Capt Dan - Shark River Charters (picked us up right at the dock, he lives right on Conch Key). We caught all sorts of fish - even two shark for the hubby - he knew right where to go & put us right on the fish. We took home a bounty - and Dan suggested/called a place in Marathon to bring the fish to have them cook them for us....very good! We had a blast fishing (all 4 of us) and will without hesitation do it again when we return. My husband fished off the dock every night too, and had a blast hooking into Tarpon, reeling in snapper, and even a crab. Kids swam off the dock during the day, and had fun discovering what the salt-life was all about. The cottage itself is great, everything homey & has all the ammentities for a comfortable stay - even the bed!!! Most places have less than desirable beds....the bed was the bomb!!! We will definitely be making a return trip to Conch Key & are counting down the days until our paradise-week next year! Thanks Randy!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Your ten dollars is in the mail. Ha ha Thanks so much to everyone who loves the place as much as i do.

Just returned from our week stay on Conch Key and we can't say enough good things about The Tree House. It's everything it appears to be, very quaint and picturesque. We're always a little apprehensive when renting a place sight unseen but the cottage was clean and well maintained. It's constructed in such a way as to afford beautiful water views from every room and with such large windows, the best part for me was opening my eyes every morning looking out onto a beautiful South Florida sky. We thoroughly enjoyed the wildlife, the antics of the pelicans and the grace of the herons. The sunsets were phenomenal and the water, unlike west coast surf, was smooth and glassy, perfect for kayaking and boating. Conch Key is small and very much a rustic fishing village....not for someone looking for glamour and glitz. It's somewhat of a trek to amenities like grocery shopping and restuarants but the local market is satisfactory for basic necessities and you can buy fresh live lobster at a reasonable price from the local fishermen! If we had just one thing to be unhappy with during our visit, it would have to be the road noise from Hwy 1. If the road could be moved about a mile south everything about The Tree House would be absolutely perfect! If you're hard of hearing...it's not a problem! Randy was great to work with and interesting to talk to and we wouldn't hesitate recommending The Tree House to anyone interested in avoiding the hectic pace found on the other Keys. It is truely special.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Wife and I stayed in this cottage just a couple years ago and in a nut shell we now refer to it as our home away from home. While small on space (which is what we wanted), it is huge on island personality. We've traveled to the Keys many many times staying in everything from condos to mom and pop motels to homes, houses and cottages. This place beats em all by a long shot. Quaint, sophisticated, well appointed it fits our lifestyle to a tee. Great for a husband and wife get away. Sometimes the owners list it was a fishing cottage and it very well could be but since we don't fish we went for the ambience. The sunsets off the private dock dictate happy hour every single night! Oh yeah, and we Scuba Dive and the diving in the Keys is some of the best in the world.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We have been doing a Guys Weekend Fishing trip annually to the Keys. We usually stay at a Resort that offers Boats. This was our first try at renting a home and having a boat delivered. We couldn't have been happier!! Terri was fantastic to work with. The house - for our purposes was perfect! It was just the right size for us and would be for a family too. Since this was a fishing trip, we spent very little time in the home excpet really to eat dinner and sleep. The bed was comfy and the A/C was cold - the 2 biggest things to consider in the Keys. The pride of ownership in this home is evident. The place was in immaculate condition. The decorations and renovations are done in Classic Keys style! The oversized balcony was awesome. We cooked our catch of the day on the provided grill and relaxed on the deck overlooking the water. Dock is perfect. We rented a 22' foot CC that drew about 21inches. We never had a problem w/ depth - low tide we just trimmed the engine. Access to the Ocean was great. We were at the Marathon Hump in about 45 min! Make sure your boat has the water depth Overlay chart on your GPS since there are a lot of flats on the Gulf side! This just makes it easier to pick your way thru the flats at planing speed. About 10 homes away (walking distance) is a little marina w/ a store for the little items you forget and mainly for Ice and Bait which is important down in the keys. Marathon is a 10 min ride to the South by boat or car for Grocery stores and for any tyoe of Restauruant which was really convenient as well. I can't wait to book another trip here! Kudos to Terri!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We rented this house in Febuary. It is a beautiful home and VERY clean and neat. The pictures in the listing didn't do it justice. This house is more beautiful and charming. It was a real pleasure to work with the owner. They were quick about answering any questions and were very honest. The sunsets from the dock were amazing. When we come back down we will stay here again and recommend it to my friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
