If you have been looking for the perfect log cabin rental in the Hot Springs and Asheville area, YOU HAVE FOUND IT!!! Our mountain getaway is surrounded by the Pisgah and Cherokee National Forests. The French Broad River flows right below the small bluff we perch on overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains, and you have private access to the river! We are a short, very scenic drive along the river to the town of Hot Springs. The drive to Asheville is an easy, 45 minutes of beautiful mountain farm land scenery. This is not a sterile vacation rental; this log cabin is filled with unique finishing touches designed to give you a true North Carolina mountain getaway experience.
Enjoy a sunny deck or a screened porch with fans as you relax in the privacy Paint Rock Cabin offers. Linens and kitchenware are provided, and well-behaved pets are welcome to enjoy the mountains. The master bedroom offers a Queen sized bed and a Jacuzzi Tub, while the downstairs room offers two daybeds with trundles that can be configured in multiple ways, including 4 twins or two kings or the kid favorite, Giant Super Bed. Terraced garden beds are wonderfully landscaped with different flowers blooming throughout the growing season. A fire pit is located in the woods, and a hammock always begs for a breezy nap.
Our private access to the river includes 5 acres of shoreland where you can peacefully enjoy our calm French Broad river pool. This is the perfect location to bring your fishing rod and picnic, build a fire, and enjoy a slower pace everybody deserves. You can also easily launch a river vessel here to enjoy the casual flow of the river. Kayaks, rafts, tubes, and canoes all work well in the French Broad and make for perfect afternoon fun.
Paint Rock Cabin is THE place to enjoy the North Carolina Blue Ridge mountains. Pull out your calendar and find the time to book a truly unique and relaxing vacation cabin experience.

my travelling sista friend and I arrived as expected; what we didn't know was that Hurricane Sandy had made her presence known in the Hot Springs, NC area. Some 12-18" of new snow had fallen, though very little in the town itself. Not to be deterred, we did hike on the Appalachian Trail, though were unable to go as far up as planned. The cabin became our refuge...let me retrack a bit. As we approached the cabin (I had stayed there on another occasion), my friend and I loaded up our belongings and carried them inside. She exclaimed, "you didn't tell me we were coming to 'HEAVEN'. Our stay was so relaxed, and as always, spontaneous. As I knew it would be, the accommodations were over the top. We are grateful to have such wonderful 'hosts' welcoming us to the North Carolina way of life !!! We WILL be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, girls getaway.

Thank you so much for opening your cabin up to others. We had a wonderful and relaxing time! I was a little concerned that we may run out of activities to do, however we ended up running out of time to do all that was on our list! The information provided about the area and hikes, activities in the Hot Springs area was helpful and informative. Just sitting on the screen porch soaking in the great outdoors was wonderful. The fire pit was great for smores. Having the Rec. Area so close by was great too. We're hoping to visit again soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much for writing a review, and we're delighted you had a great stay. By Rec Area, do you mean the Paint Creek Corridor, Hot Springs action in general, or our river access area with the pavillion?

I loved staying at Paint Rock cabin on vacation with my husband and 2 kids. We had privacy and there was a lot to do! Easy trip into Hot Springs, we walked to the river and to Paint Rock, fishing, canoeing, biking. The set up was nice too because we had the upstairs to ourselves after we tucked the kids in. It has every amenity, was clean, and great cabin character! We will be back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I have stayed in this beautiful cabin a number of times, and twice I've used it as a retreat to work on my music - once with a band and once with a collaborator. Because of the layout and numerous beds, we never felt crowded. Each time I've stayed here, the cabin has always been clean, and I'm never disappointed. The solitude this cabin provides is so conducive to working, and I definitely plan on returning to work on a solo project.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I always enjoy going out to Paint Rock Cabin. The cabin is fully equipped with all things to make you comfortable and the kitchen is so much fun to cook in with a big group of friends. In the warm weather you can leave the doors open and grill out while the dogs play in the big field and listen to the sounds of the French Broad River. Consistently a relaxing and fun experience to spend time at the cabin!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We try to get to Hot Springs a couple times a year.. And everytime we hope that we can stay at Paint Rock Cabin.. Each visit has been a great experience for our family and friends.. The cabin is in a perfect location for hiking, rafting, and biking.. We also love going to the Hot Springs..But my favorite memories are when we have an afternoon or morning shower and we get to enjoy the cozy cabin while listening to the rain.. We can't wait to get back up there.. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with our family..Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Thank you to the owners of Paint Rock Cabin! I needed to escape the bustle of everyday life and this cabin, tucked in the forest by the river was the perfect place. The photos really don't really do this cabin justice, because they don't capture the freshness of the open air and the connection to nature which being here allows. The cabin offers everything you need on vacation, plus some. I'd recommend this rental to anyone looking to escape and enjoy the peacefulness of nature. Great hikes start from the front door! (seriously) Beautiful and unexpected colorful flowers are a great surprise. Bring your camera! I also like that it was a scenic and short drive to Hot Springs! Love the hiker store in town. You can meet everyone in town in a couple of days of walking around. The French Broad River is just below the hill from the cabin's high perch and would make a fun day of paddling or drifting. What I liked best is that this cabin was the perfect place to do nothing and clear the mind. Being there really connects one to the important things in life which are often forgotten until we get away from that thing called work. I WILL return to this cabin again! Thanks for the perfect escape!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This cabin was so cozy and perfect for a long weekend with the family. The kitchen was well stocked for good cooking, and the details in the decorating were very charming. No complaints- it was a wonderful stay and we look forward to staying there again sometime! As for Hot Springs, the family loved the hot tub soaks and the massages at the local spa. Food was mediocre at Rock Bottom (beer selection better), but try the shakes and smoothies at Sweet Temptations.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4
