The charming, comfortable, and inviting apartment is located in a historic building on the beautiful Plaza Tirso de Molina, also known as the flower market, right in the heart of Madrid. The studio sleeps 2 people on a double sofa bed and has high-speed Wi-Fi, satellite TV, and a DVD player. There is a full, private bathroom and a fully-equipped kitchen with fridge, stovetop, microwave and washing machine. The studio faces a quiet interior patio, letting in some light but no street noise, and shares an entrance with the owners' home, so they are available to answer questions.
Tirso de Molina is a beautiful square in the heart of Madrid where the neighborhoods of las Letras, Lavapiés and La Latina all come together, creating a lively and interesting atmosphere. These three neighborhoods are well known for restaurants and nightlife: traditional pubs in Barrio de las Letras, wine bars in La Latina, and ethnic cuisine in Lavapiés. Also within walking distance are the historic Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Royal Palace, as well as Madrid’s major museums, and the Rastro Sunday flea market begins around the corner.
The apartment is well-connected on public transportation. The Tirso de Molina Metro stop (Line 1) and bus stops for many lines are right on the square, and the Atocha train station is a 15-20 minute walk away. Most major sights are within walking distance, and there are lots of bars, restaurants and shops in the surrounding blocks.

Why the Owner Chose Madrid
We like this square a lot. It has the flower market all week and during weekends is the point where the the Rastro flea market takes place. It could not be more central and better located. There are tons of restaurants, squares, sites just 10 minutes walking.
The Unique Benefits at this Studio
Despite being in the middle of the action it is very quiet as it faces an interior patio. It is very well equiped and confortable to make it your base in Madrid.
Great Argentinian empanadas and pastries. Good coffee, snacks, bread and sanwiches
One of the best streets in Madrid to go out to dinner. Hundreds of options for restaurants, tapas bars, etc.
A great highlight of the area, this market is one of the most popular places to have tapas and enjoy Spain wines and food.
Just 8 minutes walk is the most central square of Madrid with great animation.

Jen and I bought this place in 2007. Jen is from Seattle and I am from Madrid. We lived in this great apartment for 3 years with our children and enjoyed it tremendously. We loved the proximity to all sights, museums, local markets, etc. We decorated and put a lot of ourselves in this place in order to make it warm. We left some of our books and guides to make your stay better. Jen and I also run a travel business and we are also guides and friends of Rick Steve's. We still maintain a great relationship with neighbors that can be of assistance and help in case of need.
