Superb Location - Apartment with Large Balcony in Dorsoduro
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
In Dorsoduro, a most desirable and central neighborhood for Venetians and tourists alike, is a three-story house with garden, courtyard, and three small apartments. These flats are walking distance from major attractions and water transportation but away from the crowds and heavy foot traffic. Within five minutes are the daily fish and farmers' markets, restaurants from pizza to fancy, the best ice cream, two supermarkets, bread store, bakeries, fax and copy facilities, internet cafe, art, antiques, old lace...
The bright, airy, first-floor apartment is rented throughout the year (from 3 to 60 days) except for when it becomes a hideaway for the owners. It consists of living/dining room, large double bedroom, full kitchen, bathroom with bath and shower, dressing room with built-in closet. One of the nicest features is the balcony which, to the owners, is like a second living room. There one can visit with friends, play cards, read, do computer work, eat most meals (weather permitting), and enjoy the garden.
Additional attractions are the original design by a talented student of Italy's premier architect, Carlos Scarpa, original art, exposed beams, marble floors, and ample storage space. This flat is perfect for two but can accommodate four.
Two similar flats, the garden and upper appartments, are also available on a limited basis. For more information please contact the owner via the email listed below.

Stayed one week in July. My partner and I liked our top floor apartment. AC worked very well. The balcony was nice, with a view down to the garden and over to Santa Maria del Carmelo. Location is superb, off the tourist mill, but all the conveniences are right there, restaurants, cafes, gelato; turn right or left and a water bus is close by. The apartment made for a charming, homey stay in a most wonderful city. Book it.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

I don't know if I love this apartment (top floor) or the owners more but this place it truly a wonderful place to live while visiting Venice. The location is great since Dorsoduro is one of the quieter neighborhoods in Venice. The apartment is cozy and decorated with character. Kitchen is well stocked with equipment, and a full market is located nearby. Patio has a great view and at times I could even get wifi from there. I spent many an evening on the patio relaxing, reading, blogging, and drawing. Nearby was my favorite gelato vendor, Gelateria il Doge. I was traveling solo, and had such a lovely time here.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

My two friends and I stayed in the second-floor apartment while we were in Venice for a conference. We were very happy with our accommodations. The best part was the private terrace. The kitchen was well equipped, and we were able to access free internet at all times. The apartment was very well located in the Dorsoduro - close to several reasonably-priced restaurants and shops and the world's best (IMO) ice-cream shop in San Margherita. We needed to travel to the Giudecca daily for the conference and it took only 7 minutes to walk to the Zattere vaporetto stop and even less time to walk to the nearest stop on the Grande Canal. The manager, Guiseppe, was very helpful. I hope I have the opportunity to stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We stayed here a week and had a wonderful time. The apartment was perfect with one exception: we were not able to get reliable wireless internet. The location was perfect with several excellent, moderately priced restaurants very close by. A great bakery and supermarket were also convenient, and all the sites were within walking distance. The apartment was good-sized, clean, quiet, and the manager was very helpful and easy to reach. We would definitely stay here again if we were not planning to need the internet.Recommended for: Sightseeing.

My wife and I stayed four nights in the top floor apartment and really enjoyed it. The apartment is actually on two floors with the bedroom up a very narrow spiral staircase which might be difficult to negotiate for anyone with mobility issues. Overall the property is very well located on a narrow pedestrian street and just a short walk to markets, shops and restaurants. Just a short (10/15 minute) walk to St. Mark's square and offers good access to the vaporetto (water bus) and the entire city. The property manager lives very nearby and was very helpful by providing information about the area. The rooftop terrace is quite private and we used it everynight to stargaze and sip a glass of wine.. Perfect!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We loved Venice! It is such a fascinating city. I walked it from one end to the other and top to bottom. And what a treat to have the apartment for the week. It was so much more enjoyable than being in a hotel. My sister said it was like having wandered into a cottage in some fairy tale. We really enjoyed the terrace and seeing the green in all the backyards which is a little hard to find in the cities. I hope to go again someday.Did you find this review helpful? We stayed for two weeks at this delightful accomodation. We walked the length and breadth of Venice and found Dorsoduro to be the best for access and convenience. Everything that you need is just minutes away. The apartments have everything that you need for short or long stays and are charming and comfortable. We would whole heartedly recommend this accomodation.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 7/7

The charming second floor apartment with its rooftop patio was perfect! We enjoyed sitting on the roof with coffee or wine any time of day or night. The courtyard view was refreshing after a day of walking and water buses in Venice. The Dorsoduro location is excellent because it balances quiet and privacy with easy access to gondola, vaporetto, water taxi, shopping and restaurants. There are several very good restaurants right off nearby Campo San Barnaba. After walking every neighborhood in Venice, this was my favorite. I hope to return next year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

The location is great, the apartments not fancyk but comfortable (good beds and bathroom) and have all you need to make simple meals. We love the location because it more neighborhoody when we're they we feel almost like we're Venetians.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We have rented various apartments in Venice. This will be the one we come back to. Two things are very important to us; one is that the apartment is in a good location and the other is that it is quiet. This apartment is in an ideal location, very easy to find from the Vaporetto and no bridges to cross (if you have a lot of luggage)! We were there during carnival, and although the city was very busy, the apt. was very quiet and peaceful. In addition, the housekeeper is very nice and helpful in case you need anything. The apartment itself is very comfortable, lots of hot water, and a pleasure in which to stay. Thank you very much!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3
