"We were fortunate to be able to celebrate such a fabulous New Year in such beautiful surroundings. Despite the bitter cold outside, the house was lovely and warm and the cosy fireplace created an inviting atmosphere and became the centerpoint of many a delightful evening of food wine and joyful banter! The countryside offered many enjoyable and cultural outings and charming villages to stop for long lunches on the way! We would definitely consider a spring or summer visit to enjoy the lovely gardens and pool and explore the area further."

The pool with its lavender border is fabulous. It was a treat to prepare meals using the fresh lettuce and herbs from the garden. Enjoying lunch and dinner in the lovely garden or by the pool was so nice. It is truly a little paradise in Burgundy! We enjoyed visiting Vezelay and went for a picnic in Pierre Perthuis. The nearby markets, shops and restaurants are excellent. We hope to return soon with friends.

We have had a great family time here. The house is really beautiful and intersting, and I have spent most of my time reading your fabulous books and looking at your photograph album of the house. I am impressed that you are willing to share this place with guests. I will treasure the hot days by the pool and the beautiful natural garden and the great surrounding. The weather has been beautiful and we have loved having the pool to swim in each day. Your house is lovely with some distinctive pieces of furniture. We were fascinated to see your book of how you transformed the house into the present style – so light with beautiful colours, textures and fabrics. All your wonderful books and music have given our summer quite a cultural flavour. Our visits to surrounding towns of interest and the wonderful restaurants nearby have made our stay so enjoyable.

What a wonderful holiday! Thank you for allowing us to use your home, which has obviously been lovingly restored. We have all enjoyed our excursions to the surrounding areas, to the Morvan, Sancerre, Pouilly-sur-Loire and many others. We have had much pleasure watching the swallows, swifts and gold finches. Fantastic house, incredible garden and a beautiful setting. We have enjoyed the surrounding towns, Toucy and Vezelay especially and wine tasting in Chablis is not to be missed. Thank you so much for providing such a delightful residence.

This house is a splendid place to spend a week of family-time, away from our normal fast-paced, hectic lifestyle. The pool was just perfect for cooling off in the intense Burgundy sunshine. An experience not to be missed, thank-you for sharing your house!

There are not enough superlatives to describe the contemplative life we found here. We admired the intelligence displayed in the renovation of the house maintaining the integrity of the original and making changes that only enhanced the pleasures of the house.
