This is a snowmobile lovers dream and a skiers dream vacation spot! The property is located off a snowmobile trail so there is no need to trailer your snowmobiles. Plenty of extra parking for your trailer and vehicles.

Skiers have a short walk to the lodge or an extra short drive. If all 3 units were rented for a large group it would sleep 22 people with ease.

    • Kid Friendly : Our 2 boys grew up sking and snowboarding all of the slopes in the area. Indianhead was their favorite! In our opinion this is the safest most "kid" friendly place in the Upper Pennisula. Since we are a "walkout" triplex we have a large sloped yard. As a result we have an awesome sledding hill. The snowplowdriver also plows an extra big hill which the children love turning into their own private slope for sledding or snowboarding. You can watch them play out the home windows. The adults traditionally create their own jumps with their snowmobiles and have as much fun as the kiddies!

    • Ski the Porkie's. Close to Keewanee Ski Slopes. Black Jack Resort 1 mile away. Powerderhorn Resort 3 miles away. Whitecap Slopes close by also. Many other smaller ski resorts in near vicinity. We have a huge plowed driveway for vehicles and trailers. As a result we have a giagantic pile of snow that so children (& adults) enjoy sledding and snowboarding down those as much as the Indianhead ski trails. You can watch them play right outside your window. The house has a walk out basement unit, because of this we are built on a large hill. (more fun for everyone!) There are no neighbors on the left side or back of the house. One house far from ours on the left.. Very quiet. Though if you have children be prepared for noise as it is 3 units and the childrens laughter and running can get noisy. Each place has a fireplace and from experience they love keeping the fire burning and making S'mores and roasting hotdogs over the open flame. The pool and spa is a big hit with everyone.

Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2000

We have owned the triplex since 2000.
We currently ive in Florida, but love to travel to the Upper Penninsula. Our 2 boys grew up snowboarding and sking on Indianhead and other area slopes.

Why the Owner Chose Wakefield

My parents retired to the U.P. and we grew to love the beauty of the area. We also appreciated the residents and their honesty and openess.
Unfortunatley our parents recently passed away and as a result we do not have the chance to visit as often as we would like to.
For this reason we regretfully decided to sell the "vacation home". We still will continue to visit and will keep all of our great memories.
There is so much to do in the area. Many other nearby ski slopes, great snowmobile trails, shopping in little antique and gift stores and great resturants. The area depends on tourism so the residents are freindly and helpful.

The Unique Benefits of this Condo

All we can say is FUN !!!!!!!!

My family stayed over the Christmas and New year holiday and had a wonderful time. This is the 3rd. time we have rented from "Joe" and we will continue to rent yearly. They have an awesome "caretaker" who if needed will come immediatley and help us out. There is fireplaces in every unit and plenty of firewood. My children had fun roasting marshmallows and putting logs on the fire. This place is great for children and adults. There is an indoor/pool that we could use for a nominal fee. the ski lift is in walking distance and an added bonus is if you snowmobile the trail is directly outside the front door. (so no need to trailer your snowmobiles)

Very disappointing

-Beds were very old like sleeping on boxspring . Wind came blowing in over headboard had to hang a heavy wool blanket over window . One accessible outlet in kitchen/living room with an extention cord with multiple items plugged in , TV , cable ,VCR , toaster etc . no where to even charge a cell phone.Hot water heater shared with other unit so after sking it took hours to get hot water if other unit was showering at the same time .I talked to owner after 1st night (we were going to move) and they offered 1/2 refund so we stayed . Have not and was told we will not see a refund . Very Very disappointing . I wish someone else had wrote a review for us to read .

Owner response:Owner's Response: I have owned this property for 10 years. This is the only poor review. This woman and the other renter (i.e. her friend) complained about issues that were untrue from the moment they arrived. They were expecting and demanding refunds immediately. When her husband said he'd be all over VRBO" if they didn't receive a refund, you can imagine my reaction - no refund as their complaints were both unfounded and contrived. Does anybody think there's no electrical outlets? Why would I have cold air blowing through the units to take my power bills into the stratosphere? These complaints are absurd! Sincerely, Joe & Ellie
