Rustic, lodge style home on 2 acres, nestled in the forest but close to town, perfect home base for a family vacation. Bring your horses and enjoy trail riding in the national forest nearby. We have fenced horse area with a covered stall and a round pen. Enjoy the stars from the back deck, or relax on the covered front porch and watch the birds. We will have a cozy fire burning in the woodstove when you arrive so it will feel like coming home!
Come home in the evening to enjoy a family game of horseshoes in our horseshoe pit, or just relax on the wood swing and appreciate the nature around you. At night you can tell stories, sing and roast marshmallows around the campfire, and if you like, we will set up the tent for the kids (adults too!) to enjoy a night under the stars. The national forest is just minutes away for hiking, fishing, mountain biking and trail riding. Though you feel like you are out in the country, you are just 10 minutes away from shopping and dining, and 20 minutes from historic downtown and hot springs. Just over 30 miles away is the fantastic Wolf Creek ski area, famous for the most powder in Colorado!
