Why the Owner Chose Lutsen
It was always a dream for us to own property on the Northshore, and when the chance to buy this particular cabin arose we jumped on it. We never imagined that we would have the opportunity to own this special oasis. Growing up in Duluth, we have always loved the lake and the outdoors, so when we moved to the Twincities for job opportunities, we of course loved to return to the area.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
The privacy of the property is probably the first benefit that we would tell you, you won't be kept awake by somebody having a party in the condo next door! When you drive down the twisty road to the cabin you will immediately feel yourself relaxing. You step out of your car and notice the sound of the waves and the spicy scent of the pine trees. The cabin is very quiet and cozy, start a fire in the fireplace, enjoy a meal in front of the windows and watch the waves crash on the rocks. Walk out to the point of land, a perfect spot to have a bonfire and roast marshmallows. The stars never seemed so close. Check out the calendar and schedule a visit on the full moon, you'll love it. The kitchen is ready for great meals or enjoy a meal at one of our nearby restaurants. We have great suggestions for where to go and what to do while visiting the northshore. We also recommend the beautiful Lake Superior Hiking trail, kayaking on the lakes, downhill and crosscountry skiing or just sitting by the lake enjoying the peace and quiet and fresh air.
Owner's Map of Lutsen
The Bradleys have grownup in northern Minnesota, and love the area. Much time is spent here, hiking, kayaking and enjoying the peace and quiet of the north shore. When you rent our cabin we can help you with information about the surrounding area, making your stay very enjoyable. We find the cabin our small slice of heaven and love sharing it with others.

My husband and I stayed for a weekend in December and we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at the Red Cottage. We hiked, made bonfires, moon-gazed and watched the sunrise and sunset both days over the beautiful and majestic Lake Superior. The views are incredible and the cabin is just so warm, cozy, comfortable and sweet. Time literally stands still at the Red Cottage. Karla and Hugh could not have been more gracious!

I have just returned from a long weekend with my husband's family (we totaled 6 people) and we could not have asked for a better time. The cottage itself is in an idyllic location, placed just close enough to hear the water when opening the windows to allow in a cool summer breeze. The cottage itself is just lovely, cozy and inviting, but spacious enough to comfortably hold 6 adults. The kitchen is well-kitted, we wanted for nothing. The views are stunning, and it's hard to envision a better location or a better spot overall to enjoy the north shore. If I could give it six stars, I would!

We have stayed at a lot of cabins along the N Shore and this is our favorite! The cabin is so cute, comfortable, clean. The view of the lake is amazing - breath taking. Right on the lake - very private - so many places to sit and enjoy the lake. The kitchen has everything you need. So close to paved trails for biking, skating, running. And also very close to hiking trails. We are definitely going back to the Red Cottage. It would be a great get away any time of the year.

Minutes from the ski hill, golf courses, live music, and great food. Nothing tops the view of lake Superior while sitting around the fire. I highly recommend the Red Cottage for your next North Shore trip.

Loved Loved Loved the Red Cottage!! Fantastic views of Lake Superior and the shore line. We enjoyed indoor and outdoor fires! Sipped our coffee in the adirondack chairs while breathing in the fresh clean northwoods air while listening to the waves crash against the rocks. The cottage was the perfect retreat after long days of hiking through the state parks close by, Cascade falls, Judge Magney, Temperance river etc........ I was sad to come home as I knew I would miss the tranquility and the most comfortable king sized bed I have ever slept in. (All of the beds were quality and very comfortable with Quality Linens and cozy blankets.) What a great bedroom to have- fabulous picture window over looking Lake Superior-what a glorious thing to wake up to! The cottage was very clean and had all the comforts of home- we heard lots of birds and will swear to the day we die that we heard a moose bellow late one evening. Truly a fabulous experience! The red cottage was easy to get to - just minutes off of HWY 61 but yet completely private. Great location for hikers, bikers, shoppers whoever and all the surrounding areas are a photographers dream! I cannot say enough about the red cottage on lake superior. Would be a lovely place to stay any time of year and I can't wait to go back!!! Thanks so much Karla :)

My husband and our 3 adult children are hiking the entire Superior National Hiking Trail from Two Harbors to Canada ~ hopefully within our lifetime. I am the "support team" of one. We enjoyed our stay at the Red Cottage for a long weekend. It's a great location, just a few miles from Lutsen, very private and the view is spectacular!! I enjoyed a massage at the Waves of Superior Spa while the hiking group was walking in the rain. It's a great Spa - if you go, don't forget your bathing suit, as they have a nice little pool and hot tub. Thanks Carla for sharing your sweet spot on the North Shore.

Absolutely perfect!!! The Red Cottage is so cozy, quaint, charming, and immaculate! The location and setting is ideal. Just a couple of minutes from Lutsen Mountains (great skiing) and nestled in the woods along the shore of Lake Superior. Our children who are 10 and 5 could not wait to return to the Red Cottage after skiing and snowboarding. The owners are wonderful! They are very accomodating and the house has everything you could possibly need. They have done a wonderful job of making you feel at home. We are looking forward to returning to the Red Cottage and can't recommend it enough. Thank you for making this wonderful cottage available to families like ours.

My husband and 83 year old mother spent three nights at the Little Red Cottage and were enchanted with the place. The property is beautiful, big open view of the lake just 30 feet from the cabin. We love to make big and involved meals and had everything we needed to prepare and cook AND serve our dinners! There are so many little personal touches that make you KNOW that this cozy home is well loved and cared for. We've already booked another date!

Our group of six adults and one infant spent the week between Christmas and New Year's at this lovely "cottage." It has a cottage feel, yet there was ample room for all of us. Cozy and comfortable accommodations(kitchen had everything we needed!),and there was a good supply of wood to stoke daily fires. Wish it would have been warm enough to use the firepit that faces the lake! We loved the skiing and snow shoeing at Oberg Mountain, Cascade River and Pincushion. . Karla and Hugh are welcoming, responsive and helpful with suggestions for enjoying the area. We look forward to returning, perhaps in warm weather months!

Highly recommended! The cabin is inviting, comfortable and private. The shoreline is right outside and the views are knockout. The furnishings are beautiful and obviously very carefully selected. The bed linens are luxurious. I am a very picky person, and I have nothing but admiration and great fondness for this absolutely incredible place. Thank you Karla.
