Our summer season for 2012 is fully booked, but the shoulder seasons of spring and fall are available, and offer their own special charms for those who seek the beauty of an island retreat during a quieter time of the year. The shops and restaurants are open, the beaches are uncrowded, and many spectacular beaches not accessible to the public in the summer are open to all. Your choice: the green grass, misty mornings and flowers of the spring renewal, or the crisp mornings, warm sunny mid-days of the fall... both seasons are perfect for long beach walks. The light in autumn is incredible, the sunsets are never better. May, June, September and October are gorgeous months.
Share the experience of an exceptionally charming 1820 farmhouse and barn surrounded by 8 private acres of lawns, shade trees, gardens, and meadows. 2 bedrooms/full bath upstairs, 1 bedroom/full bath downstairs, fully-equipped eat-in kitchen with pantry and laundry room, living room with fireplace. Lovely views from every window. Enclosed outside hot water shower.
The adjacent barn has been converted to a beautiful and open space, comfortably furnished. That's where you'll find the television, dvd player, stereo and wireless... not in the house!
Conveniently close, Lambert's Cove Beach is an absolute North shore gem, gentle and safe, great swimming, gorgeous sunsets.
Behind the property is an ancient path for walking and biking through the woods past neighboring farms to the village grocery and post office. State Road restaurant, considered one of the best on the island, is within walking distance.
There is much to see and do on this small and beautiful island, in every town, on every one of our many lovely uncrowded beaches... but as your home base, we think you will agree that the privacy and tranquility of the farm is a very special pleasure ... West Tisbury living at its best.

Why the Owner Chose West Tisbury
Island living. A sense of community. The land and the sea. We wished to share with our children the experience of living in a rural farming community that has not changed much in the past century and has retained its "Old Vineyard" character. Our town's rural character is complimented by its proximity to the wild and beautiful ocean that surrounds us. This unique combination of land and sea is why we chose to live on the Vineyard, and in the town of West Tisbury.

Three generations of our family love and enjoy the farm. My granddaughters like to get up (very!) early, feed the ponies, pick blueberries for breakfast and help in the garden, picnic lunch at the beach, then home for a nap, maybe a pony ride adventure, or a late afternoon swim at Ice House Pond, or a trip down-island. So the days go. Before we know it, it's time for dinner, a book and bed ... and the next morning... they like to get up and do it all again!!
