My wife and I live in Boise, Idaho. We been married 40 yrs. and have been coming to maui from day one.
Why the Owner Chose The Whaler
we bought our first condo at the whaler about 13 years ago. We visited the whaler through a travel agency the first time, it was so amazing, the location and Kaanapali wheather is the best on the island, theres so many things you can do without getting in the car, we enjoy the long sunny days and beach time. I like getting up early and taking long walks, the beach walk at the foot of the property is glorious for your healthy walks, plus we do have a very nice gym. The early morning free coffee at the poolside begins at 8am, nice place to meet up with friends you make while your at the whaler. The two buildings at the whaler are seperated by a large courtyard and the spacing allows the early morning sun and a cup of coffee at the pool is a perfect way to get started. I could write a book, but email me or just call, and I will be glad to share many wonderful reasons why we love coming back, thank you for listening George and Judy

the days just go by so fast. Theres relaxing at the most wonderful beach anywhere, snorkeling, walks on kaanapali beach walk, dinning at the many great dinning places on the beach, Whalers Village just steps from the condo makes steping away from the pool or the beach for a little shoping, or a easy ride up on the elevator to get a snack or a drink. and theres to many to mention all of them

My wife and I had a great time. Stayed a little over a week. The suite is nice, views are stunning. The suite was spotlessly clean. The village has live music nightly, throw the sliding glass door open and listen to traditional Hawaiian music while the waves roll in. Sunsets are amazing, everyone stops what they are doing just to watch. We barbequed several nights and watched the sunset from the lanai while we dined. The concierge was great, recommended great restaurants in the area and saved us a bundle on our helicopter tour of Maui & Molokai. The beach is one of the nicest in the islands. Walk out the tower onto the beach, snorkeling is right there. We will definitely stay here again!

View from balcony was great saw whales which is late in the season but, there they were. On another mourning two sea turtles were floating on the surface. The snorkeling at black rock 200 yds down the beach was the best spot on the island we saw eels,turtles,starfish and even a couple good size octopus. Room was great had our 9 and 12 year olds with us and they had a great time. They really like frozen yogurt shop in the village. It was nice having everything so close. Maui Gold pineapples are the best we went thru one a day. You know when in Rome!!

We have been to Maui and all the other islands many times. We have spent lots of time at this condo and it is top notch. The condo is on a great beach with a great pool. Its is as convenient as possible with breakfast lunch and diner spots all around within walking distance it makes it so relaxing and easy for just a couple or families. What amazed us was the fact that if you want peace and quiet youve got it but if you want alot of activity that is also available. I also liked the beach activities parasailing jet ski rental and sailing trips......this place has it all.

Checked in on 1 July 2010. Room not cleaned after previous guests left. Contacted front desk...put us in contact with property manager (Aston Hotels not responsible for cleaning this unit). Tried to contact owner via phone and e-mail...no luck. Property manager was very gracious and put us up in one of his well-appointed rooms for the night (we weren't sure when our room would be cleaned). Photos don't accurately depict unit. Walls, doors and trim in need of paint. Curtains and shower curtains dirty. Tiles missing on balcony. AC units from Whaler's Village were loud and irritating (had to close the doors at times). Dryer did not work. "Deluxe" ocean view is actually a "limited, tree-blocked angular ocean view" Owner was helpful during reservation process, haven't heard from him since. I'd recommend looking at units on the opposite side, in the other tower, or at another property altogether. Pay a few more bucks for a better experience.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
