This recently restored apartment is on the second floor in a 800' palace with an elevator, in the town center. Luxury original details and modern facilities give to the ambiances full comfort: enjoy oriental rugs, terra-cotta floor and antique furniture together with television, fast Internet access, air conditioning, and single heating.

Wide sound-proof windows create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. King-size bedroom is typically painted in Florentine antique colors with light blue which give the apartment its precious name of ZAFFIRO. A stylish kitchenette is framed under an original cotto arch and has comfortable equipment: dishwasher, refrigerator and small freezer, stove, and cutlery. A small courtyard is provided with laundry room: washing machine and iron are for free use. Bedroom and bathroom linen are supplied every week or on request with extra charge.

ZAFFIRO - two to four people: hall, dining room with double-size sleep sofa, equipped kitchenette, queen-size bedroom with remarkable antique iron bed, walking in wardrobe, and wide bathroom with shower.

  • Comment Text: I had the pleasure of staying in the Tapazio apt. with my family four years ago on my first visit to Italy. It was an absolutely perfect apartment for our stay. I enjoyed walking everywhere with my daughters from the convenient location and added bonus of being an easy walk to the train station for our day trips was great. I am returning in spring of '09 with a friend of mine who has never been to Florence. I am SO happy to have kept the contact site of these beautiful apartments. I will be renting the AMBRA unit and hope that it will be comfortable as the first apartment. I highly recommend these apartments for easy access, quiet neighborhood, ALL of the amenities that have so thoughtfully been put into place, and the helpfulness of Margherita. I wish on all of my travels I could find such nice accommodations!

  • We spent a couple of days in Florence two weeks ago now. Definitely too short a stay, but we will be going back some day. Would have had a little more time! First of all, five of us stayed in the Diamante Apartment at 50 Via Del Scala, which is very close to the train station. This definitely would have been a great location to call home for a week or more, as it was we just barely had time to sleep there (we had a very early flight to catch.) I found it on line at OWNERS DIRECT REF IT 130. Margherita, the owner, was very helpful as we were making plans for our visit, met us at the appointed time, showed us around the apartment and advised us where to park our car. If you don't require the always-having-someone-at-the-desk of a hotel, then I would recommend her place. In addition to the apartment we stayed in, which could handle five or six, there are several other smaller apartments in the same building. We had a great time rambling around for a very full day, walking down many streets, crossing the river, and going into many shops. There was a great street market, permanent I think, close to San Lorenzo. We found the shopping in Florence to be much more fun than shopping in Rome. Tom
