Great Stay Away from Tourists

Just arrived home from our trip to Paris and the UK. Kevin's apartment was just what we needed to accomodate my husband and I and my daughter and her husband. We each, (couple), had our own spacious room with in suite bathrooms. The main room with dinning table was perfect for the the four of us when we all wanted to be together but we had plenty of space to get away if need be. The apartment is close to so much and many of the sites are just a 10-15 minute walk. The tube and bus stops are only a few blocks away if you don't want to walk. I would recomend getting a 7 day pass which works for both. For those of you daring enough there is a bike rental just a couple blocks away for short trips. You can pick them up one place and drop them off at another station elsewhere. One of the things we liked best about the apartment is that it is close enough to the sites but away from all the crowds of tourists, (even though that's what we are). The kitchen is well stocked and we had everything we needed to cook a Christmas dinner. The washer dryer/combo was great to have but for those of you coming from USA it will be tricky to use and you will find you can only do very small loads and it takes a long time to dry. There are several clothes drying racks available and I recommend you use those instead of the drying feature. It sure beat trying to find a laundry mat, though. A couple of our favorite things to do was go to the Bouroughs market; a great place to get fresh fruits and vegetable, meats and cheeses. You can also eat pretty reasonably there from the vendors. I recommend the grilled cheese sandwiches! The Northern tube line will take you right there. Spitalfields Market is also a good place to get clothing bargins, local craft items and gifts. This is an easy walk or a great bike ride. There are a couple of local pubs that are great to go to. The Griffin is almost right next door. You will not be disappointed by choosing to stay here. The accomodations are very clean and modern and just like the photos. Kevin is easy to work with and using paypal to reserve the place made me feel comfortable about sending payment. He sent the keys in plenty of time for them to arrive before we left. Kevin was also very prompt about returning the refundable deposit.

We were in London for 9 days. The flat was clean and neat, on arrival. It's quite large, with a functional, modern kitchen (even a small washer/dryer); tand two large bedrooms which are at opposite ends of the flat, so affording a lot of privacy for two couples, and each has its own bathroom/toilet. The living room/dining room area was comfortable. Only a 4 or 5 minute walk to Old Street tube station. Several excellent restaurants nearby, and pubs. Also convenient (10 minute walk) to the Spitalfields area, where our daughter lives, and nearby Brick Lane. Shoreditch is a pretty cool area, with lots of twenty to thirty-somethings (we are 55-65), away from the tourist throngs but convenient to most everything, walking or via tube or bus ( we mostly tubed). Kevin was very helpful before we arrived, and all went without a hitch. We couldn't ask for better, really.

We rented this modern 2-bedroom/2-bath apartment in October 2011. It's a large, contemporary flat in a stylish East London neighborhood. The bedrooms (each of which has its own large bathroom) are at opposite ends of the apartment, so 2 couples would have lots of privacy. The place is immaculate and well maintained. The owner is very professional and helpful. If you're in London and don't have to stay right in town, this is a perfect option. Lots of restaurants, pubs, galleries, cafes, and shopping nearby. The Old Street tube station is within 3 blocks. The area is vibrant and feels much like Soho or the East Village in New York. I would happily rent this flat again. The value is very good - you would never get this amount of space or the modern amenities in any hotel in London.

We spent a long weekend in London. I cant see ever staying in a hotel again after this stay. It is just so nice to have a "home away from home." The apartment was well equipped, large, and comfortable. The detail in the design was impressive for a rental property. We were just 2 people, but 4 would also be very comfortable here. We loved the neighborhood. There are many lively pubs within blocks and the nearby Sunday markets were fantastic. The tube was easily accessible to get into the very center of the city. We hope to be back soon. Thank You!

This was a wonderful surprise for the 4 of us who stayed here. After we got over our initial impression of the stairway leading up to the apartment, the apartment itself was exactly as pictured. It was very easy to move right in and feel at home. The information Kevin left and the wine were all welcome. The location was wonderful and convenient to all transportation. We could get from central London with all the crowds to the apartment in 15 minutes including the walk. The whole area was interesting and although we had planned to cook some dinners, there were so many outstanding restaurants within minutes of the apartment (Eyre Brothers (5 stars); Rivington Grill, and Lena's) we ate out. Kevin was very helpful from the very first communication. If we go back to London, we would definitely stay in this apartment, don't thnk we could have found a better place to stay.

Our family stayed in this beautiful, well-kept and ideally located apartment for 6 nights. We were close to a tube stop and had access to numerous restaurant options as well as a supermarket. We would highly recommend this apartment and would certainly stay here again.

Three Aussies used the apartment as our London base in late June and were very satisfied with our experience. I found Kevin {the owner) quick to respond to my emails and inquiries which was quite reassuring. The unit is perfectly suited to two couples with 2 king bed ensuite bedrooms and IS EXACTLY as depicted in the VRBO pics. At first, its generous (huge) proportions were a little overwhelming but after a few days it becomes a feature you appreciate. The apartment is excellently appointed!! We found the location was also excellent, an easy walk from Liverpool Street, with many nearby options to eat and drink irrespective of your particular taste. YES, it wasn't easy to find and the area is undergoing "renewal" but the apartment is very secure. Our only (very) little gripe was the freezer hadn't been cleaned but it was such an insignificant deal that I hadn't even followed up with Kevin. Would we return....DEFINITELY!!!!

Our stay at this property was fantastic! It has everything that was required for a long stay in London. The flat is located close to the main tourist areas of London yet far enough away from the crowds that you see in those areas. The restaurants in the area are very good and there is quite a variety of them to choose from. People in the area as well were very friendly and helpful. In regards to the flat there is tons of room. The decor is very nicely done and is very comfortable after long days of site seeing. What you see in Kevin's ad is what you get. It is super clean as well!! We will book our next trip to London around the availability of this flat.

I recently visited London in Jan. '11 and stayed at Kevin's Shoreditch Warehouse flat. The experience could not have been better, Kevin is a great host and I truly enjoyed the stay. The location is convenient to transportation and the surrounding area is filled with shops, restaurants, and clubs so you need not go far. The description and pictures are accurate and the flat is well maintained and clean. I highly recommend the property and will try to stay here in future visits to London. Steve, Chicago
