Great Stay Away from Tourists

Guest: Debbie (London, Arkansas, USA)
Date of Stay: 12/24/11 Review Submitted: 01/05/12

Just arrived home from our trip to Paris and the UK. Kevin's apartment was just what we needed to accomodate my husband and I and my daughter and her husband. We each, (couple), had our own spacious room with in suite bathrooms. The main room with dinning table was perfect for the the four of us when we all wanted to be together but we had plenty of space to get away if need be. The apartment is close to so much and many of the sites are just a 10-15 minute walk. The tube and bus stops are only a few blocks away if you don't want to walk. I would recomend getting a 7 day pass which works for both. For those of you daring enough there is a bike rental just a couple blocks away for short trips. You can pick them up one place and drop them off at another station elsewhere. One of the things we liked best about the apartment is that it is close enough to the sites but away from all the crowds of tourists, (even though that's what we are). The kitchen is well stocked and we had everything we needed to cook a Christmas dinner. The washer dryer/combo was great to have but for those of you coming from USA it will be tricky to use and you will find you can only do very small loads and it takes a long time to dry. There are several clothes drying racks available and I recommend you use those instead of the drying feature. It sure beat trying to find a laundry mat, though. A couple of our favorite things to do was go to the Bouroughs market; a great place to get fresh fruits and vegetable, meats and cheeses. You can also eat pretty reasonably there from the vendors. I recommend the grilled cheese sandwiches! The Northern tube line will take you right there. Spitalfields Market is also a good place to get clothing bargins, local craft items and gifts. This is an easy walk or a great bike ride. There are a couple of local pubs that are great to go to. The Griffin is almost right next door. You will not be disappointed by choosing to stay here. The accomodations are very clean and modern and just like the photos. Kevin is easy to work with and using paypal to reserve the place made me feel comfortable about sending payment. He sent the keys in plenty of time for them to arrive before we left. Kevin was also very prompt about returning the refundable deposit.

Beautiful, comfortable and convenient

Guest: Len (Oakland, CA)
Date of Stay: 11/18/11 Review Submitted: 12/04/11

We were in London for 9 days. The flat was clean and neat, on arrival. It's quite large, with a functional, modern kitchen (even a small washer/dryer); tand two large bedrooms which are at opposite ends of the flat, so affording a lot of privacy for two couples, and each has its own bathroom/toilet. The living room/dining room area was comfortable. Only a 4 or 5 minute walk to Old Street tube station. Several excellent restaurants nearby, and pubs. Also convenient (10 minute walk) to the Spitalfields area, where our daughter lives, and nearby Brick Lane. Shoreditch is a pretty cool area, with lots of twenty to thirty-somethings (we are 55-65), away from the tourist throngs but convenient to most everything, walking or via tube or bus ( we mostly tubed). Kevin was very helpful before we arrived, and all went without a hitch. We couldn't ask for better, really.

Stylish loft-like apartment in Shoreditch-Hoxton

Guest: Steve (San Francisco)
Date of Stay: 10/27/11 Review Submitted: 11/01/11

We rented this modern 2-bedroom/2-bath apartment in October 2011. It's a large, contemporary flat in a stylish East London neighborhood. The bedrooms (each of which has its own large bathroom) are at opposite ends of the apartment, so 2 couples would have lots of privacy. The place is immaculate and well maintained. The owner is very professional and helpful. If you're in London and don't have to stay right in town, this is a perfect option. Lots of restaurants, pubs, galleries, cafes, and shopping nearby. The Old Street tube station is within 3 blocks. The area is vibrant and feels much like Soho or the East Village in New York. I would happily rent this flat again. The value is very good - you would never get this amount of space or the modern amenities in any hotel in London.

Great Spot for a Long Weekend

Guest: Amy (San Francisco)
Date of Stay: 10/21/11 Review Submitted: 10/29/11

We spent a long weekend in London. I cant see ever staying in a hotel again after this stay. It is just so nice to have a "home away from home." The apartment was well equipped, large, and comfortable. The detail in the design was impressive for a rental property. We were just 2 people, but 4 would also be very comfortable here. We loved the neighborhood. There are many lively pubs within blocks and the nearby Sunday markets were fantastic. The tube was easily accessible to get into the very center of the city. We hope to be back soon. Thank You!

Shoreditch apartment

Guest: Jane Gehring (Queensbury, NY, USA)
Date of Stay: 09/17/11 Review Submitted: 10/03/11

This was a wonderful surprise for the 4 of us who stayed here. After we got over our initial impression of the stairway leading up to the apartment, the apartment itself was exactly as pictured. It was very easy to move right in and feel at home. The information Kevin left and the wine were all welcome. The location was wonderful and convenient to all transportation. We could get from central London with all the crowds to the apartment in 15 minutes including the walk. The whole area was interesting and although we had planned to cook some dinners, there were so many outstanding restaurants within minutes of the apartment (Eyre Brothers (5 stars); Rivington Grill, and Lena's) we ate out. Kevin was very helpful from the very first communication. If we go back to London, we would definitely stay in this apartment, don't thnk we could have found a better place to stay.

London Sancctuary!!!

Guest: Mick (Australia)
Date of Stay: 06/19/11 Review Submitted: 08/15/11

Three Aussies used the apartment as our London base in late June and were very satisfied with our experience. I found Kevin {the owner) quick to respond to my emails and inquiries which was quite reassuring. The unit is perfectly suited to two couples with 2 king bed ensuite bedrooms and IS EXACTLY as depicted in the VRBO pics. At first, its generous (huge) proportions were a little overwhelming but after a few days it becomes a feature you appreciate. The apartment is excellently appointed!! We found the location was also excellent, an easy walk from Liverpool Street, with many nearby options to eat and drink irrespective of your particular taste. YES, it wasn't easy to find and the area is undergoing "renewal" but the apartment is very secure. Our only (very) little gripe was the freezer hadn't been cleaned but it was such an insignificant deal that I hadn't even followed up with Kevin. Would we return....DEFINITELY!!!!

Great Stay!!

Date of Stay: 03/09/11 Review Submitted: 03/30/11

Our stay at this property was fantastic! It has everything that was required for a long stay in London. The flat is located close to the main tourist areas of London yet far enough away from the crowds that you see in those areas. The restaurants in the area are very good and there is quite a variety of them to choose from. People in the area as well were very friendly and helpful. In regards to the flat there is tons of room. The decor is very nicely done and is very comfortable after long days of site seeing. What you see in Kevin's ad is what you get. It is super clean as well!! We will book our next trip to London around the availability of this flat.

I recently visited London in Jan. '11 and stayed at Kevin's Shoreditch Warehouse flat. The experience could not have been better, Kevin is a great host and I truly enjoyed the stay. The location is convenient to transportation and the surrounding area is filled with shops, restaurants, and clubs so you need not go far. The description and pictures are accurate and the flat is well maintained and clean. I highly recommend the property and will try to stay here in future visits to London. Steve, Chicago

Beautiful flat - no surprise

Guest: Arnaud & Odile (Paris, France)
Date of Stay: 12/27/10 Review Submitted: 01/10/11

We are a family of four, with two young girls (5 and 10). We spent one week in the flat, between Christmas and New Year The stay was very pleasant, the flat is as shown in the picture (loft-style, bricks on the wall, stylish furniture and equipment, a lot of space), and everything was crystal clean. We had one issue with the tub plug (did'nt pop up, forbiding us to empty the bath) and reported it to Kevin who sent quickly a repairman to cope with the issue. In a nutshell : a very nice and reliable place !

Beautiful Modern Loft Apartment in a great location!

Guest: Two couples from California (Elk Grove, CA)
Date of Stay: 11/05/10 Review Submitted: 11/29/10

This November we (two couples) rented this stunning apartment for a week as our base for attending a business convention at ExCeL London. It's on a quiet street that is easy walking distance from Old Street tube station and the London Overground. Also very close to nice options for food and drink. The two ensuite bedrooms were at opposite ends of the flat for maximum privacy. Every detail of the unit from the furniture and lighting, to the artwork and exposed brick walls are ready for the magazine photographers to arrive! The pictures on the listing just do not do it justice. The flat is spacious and filled with light - a beautifully balanced mix of old and new. The exposed warehouse brick walls play off of the reclaimed hardwood plank flooring. The large scale limestone tiles of the bathrooms offer the perfect backdrop to the gleaming chrome bath fittings, freestanding tub, and red glass shower stall. The sleek modern kitchen makes cooking and entertaining a breeze. The many nearby restaurants, pubs & shops will make your stay an easy and memorable one. Excellent! Kevin (the owner) was also very helpful in suggesting nearby places where we could entertain business clients. We will return to this flat.

My friend and i stayed here in October after doing a bus tour for 3 weeks and wow was this place oustanding! Close to restaurants, pubs and the tube. The apartment is so spacious, we went 2 days without seeing each other apart from meal times. The laptop and wireless were a BIG bonus for us and the place was so tidy and comfortable. And Kevin was very helpful. Its already decided that next time we're over, permitting this place will still be up for rental, this is where we would stay.

Four of us stayed in this apartment over an 8 day period in September and we had a blast! It's on a quiet street but close to lot of great restaurants, shops, and pubs. It's also within walking distance to both the Old Street and Liverpool tube stations so getting around to see the sights was easy. Lots of space, very clean, and cool decor. Kevin is very good about keeping in contact and was prompt in answering any questions we had. Would definitely stay again!

We had the pleasure of staying in this outstanding apartment in May 2010. From the moment we opened the front door, we knew we were in for a treat. This warehouse convert is so wonderfully fresh and the furnishings top shelf. The smallest details were pure class. We enjoyed our time there so much that I know we'll be back when next we visit London. I recommend that you treat yourself to the wonderful pubs and restaurants in the area if you're ever luck enough to enjoy a visit to this apartment.

I was lucky enough to stay in this amazing 2 bedroom flat in mid-October on my first visit to London in 20 years. The pictures on the listing had me excited, but the actual flat blows any of the picures away. This spacious flat is on a quiet alley in a vibrant area in the most exciting area of East London. The flat is spectacularly decorated and fitted with a wonderful kitchen, two luxurious bathrooms and a lounge I had a hard time leaving. Friends who came to visit were astonished by the place and I was able to entertain (calmly :) )easily with everything Kevin provided. Booking paying and getting access was dead easy, and Kevin is a great host. I will definitely be booking SOON to return as I am missing the curries of Brick Lane and pubs of Shoreditch Hoxton and Spittlefields terribly. The only bad thing about this flat was having to leave, and next time I may not! Kevin you have been warned! ;)

My wife and I along with another couple spent a great week in late September at Kevin's Shoreditch flat. As we'd hoped, it's ideally suited to two couples travelling together, each of which wants a high standard of roominess and comfort and their own ensuite facilities. There's really not a bad thing to be said about the place or Kevin's attentiveness to his renters' needs. The furnishings and appointments are top-notch, providing a luxury boutique hotel feel with the comfort and amenities of home. Shoreditch is a newly-gentrified, very jumping area of London with lots of restaurants and clubs that's well off the usual tourist track and yet affords easy access to central London via the nearby Old Street and Liverpool tube stations. The flat is quiet thanks to its side-street location, the beds are comfortable, the linens and towels are plush, and the media center and wireless internet work faultlessly. I'd be happy to be able to return and would recommend this rental highly to any touring couples or small family groups visiting London.

My husband, I and our children stayed in the apartment for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. This was our first vacation rental and we were a bit apprehensive . However, everything went smoothly and our experience was very positive. The apartment was spacious ,comfortable and spotlessly clean.Everything in the apartment was of a very high quality . It is well located, within walking distance of 2 tube lines which made it easy to explore all the sights of London. After spending our days sightseeing we would return to Shoreditch and enjoy dining in one of its many restaurants. We found having a "home from home " so much more relaxing than staying in a hotel .Kevin [ the owner] is very friendly and helpful and I would recommend this apartment without hesitation!

My wife and I and one other couple stayed in this apartment for three nights. Kevin was extremely helpful answereing all of our questions, and made the process nearly as easy as a hotel stay. The apartment is very nicely decorated, and everything is new or nearly new. The linens, mattresses, towels, furniture, etc. is all of very high quality. Some nice extras included a laptop computer, wireless internet, ipod docking station, etc. Very cool transitional area of London...we enjoyed breakfast at different sidewalk cafe's each morning...all within walking distance. Overall I would give this place a 9.5 out of 10. Highly urge you to give it a try.

Four Star Rating from us. This new warehouse conversion was spacious and the four of us had plenty room and enjoyed the well appointed flat. The place looks brand new, complete with great beds, luxury linens, thick towels, first class kitchen with quality kitchen-ware and appliances. We’ve only been to London a few times, and didn't know much about the Shoreditch area, as it turned out it's great, trendy bars and lot's of restaurants, and really pretty handy to a couple of tube stations. Great Place, and would return in a heart beat. The owner Kevin was very helpful and professional. We recommend this place.Gary & Cindy Alan & Maya Brighton, Michigan USA
