Owners Denny & Donna Smith reside in the Philadelphia area.
Why the Owner Chose Moneta
After vacationing and renting at nearly every lake from Florida to New York,
we kept coming back to Smith Mtn Lake as our favorite.
The water quality and depth, along with being seasonal, but short mild winters
was an attraction. You typically dont find 50+ foot yachts on other east coast lakes.
The Chesapeake Bay you will, however you give up the water quality.
SML was also appealing with the surrounding mountains, as well as having over 500 miles of shoreline. We liked being away from it all, but having modern convieniences and shopping nearby.
Also having many water front restaraunts and marinas was something most other lakes were lacking.
Having the name of SMITH just seamed to be a natural fit !

Our family loved staying at Smith Point. This estate has everything that you could desire in a vacation rental. We enjoyed cooking and grilling while watching all the boats cruise by. The expansive views from every room are amazing and the quiet peaceful setting was relaxing. Being directly in front of the channel brought many huge yachts and house boats passing by. We did a little fishing off the dock while the girls enjoyed the hot tub. We would highly recommend Smith Point to everyone. We all had a wonderful vacation that we will always cherish.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I stayed at Smith Pointe Estate this summer with my family (my husband, father, brother, sister and brother-in-law). Our stay there was everything we expected and then a whole lot more. The listing of this home was extremely accurate. The pictures don't do it justice - Must See!! The location was perfect. Close to shopping, dining, entertainment and sightseeing (by land or water.) The guys went to the D-Day Memorial and Transit Museum while the ladies did some shopping and then came home and sat out on the upper patio and enjoyed the breathtaking view of the lake. We were able to enjoy having our own boat tied up to a secure, safe dock. If we didn't feel like boating, we would just relax at the cozy private beach and then just step out into the water and float for a while to cool off! This home is immaculate with more amenities than you could ask for. I would highly recommend it as a vacation spot for lots to do or nothing to do at all - but relax!!
