Recently renovated 4 BR/2 BA, 2-story home on a quiet street on south New Smyrna Beach. We are only a few steps from the beach and a short walk to famous JB's Fishcamp (a popular rustic restaurant/bar) and the Canaveral National Seashore Park. Manatees are often seen grazing at a park river pier, which is only three blocks away in the opposite direction.
Our section of the beach has no driving and very limted public parking, thereby making it practically private. With a vacant lot next door, we have ample parking for your RV, boat and friends.
From our place you can beach walk for less than 10 minutes and cross into the Canaveral National Seashore Park where there is absolutely no development. You explore the beaches & dunes in their natural pristine state. If people-watching is more your thing, you can walk the same distance northbound and you will be at Mary McLeod Bethune County Beach Park (see links to both Parks below). There you will find surfers, a lifeguard and plenty of bodies soaking up the sun (also tennis courts, basketball courts and fishing dock across the street, riverside).
Why pay an arm & a leg for a beach vacation when you can walk a few steps and stay for half the price? For what you'll pay for our place, you can afford another trip. Or, better yet, stay with us twice as long!

- County recreation park is three blocks away with tennis, basketball, children's playground and fishing pier. Also two boat ramps are close by. On Sundays at the Canaveral National Seashore Park, 2-hour pontoon boat tours of Mosquito Lagoon & the estuaries are given by National Park Rangers (for a small fee).

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
We began renting only 2 years ago, after our renovation. We loved the Atlantic beaches and always wanted a family vacation home. With Orlando as our home base, we wanted some place within a reasonable drive and New Smyrna was the perfect choice. It exactly a 1.5 hour drive for us door-to-door. Also we loved the remoteness that "Bethune Beach" (South NSB) offered. It's like our own private beach (no traffic).
The Unique Benefits at this House
We love being so close to the undeveloped beach of Canaveral National Seashore park, and yet only a quick jaunt away from restaurants & shopping. We love having two separate, upstairs/downstairs family/TV areas. The kids can shoot pool, play video games and watch their shows downstairs, while we enjoy other activities upstairs. We love our large upstairs outside deck, especially in the mornings with a cup a coffee and late afternoons with a refreshing adult beverage. It doesn't get better than that!

My family had a fabulous vacation over New Years at the Lakes beach house. The beach is literally steps away, what an beautiful and quiet amazing beach! The kids went out every morning to collect shells and watch the dolphins. The house came equipped with everything we needed and then some, clean, simple and wonderfully laid out. I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the New Smyrna area and we certainly hope to return ourselves. In fact we wished we didn't have to go home.

We spent a few quality days at the Beach House with our adult children & grandchildren and also celebrated our granddaughters 4th birthday. Everything was just as described, you literally could walk in with a few personal items, some groceries and have a relaxing beach vacation. The beach was naturally beautiful and almost desolate. We booked on very short notice and the owners were very accommodating. Other than the beach, we didn't venture out much but did bring in seafood from one of the restaurants the owners suggested and it was fabulous! We hope to go back again next fall if not before and would definitely recommend this property.

Great house, great location! I recently stayed at the Lake Beach house as a combination family vacation, fishing, surfing trip. The house was everything we hoped for. Clean and well maintained. No suprises. It is everything they say it is and more. With the beach just steps from the house it was easy to surf anytime you wanted. There are actually two good surf breaks to either side of the beach acsess. No crowds. Most local surfers stay to the north end of the beach. The beach is the finest in the area for family fun. If you plan to traval to this area with children the no drive section of beach is a must. Kids can run free and you have no worries about their safety. As far as fishing goes, You could not ask for a better location for shallow water fishing. Bring your boat and launch less than a mile from the house at a free ramp at the entrance to the National Sea Shore park. There is also a bait shop right down the street with everything you need. Dont have a shallow water boat, no problem. Hire one of the local guides or rent kayaks a block away at JB's fish camp. There is great restraunts and a grocery store very close by. All in all it's a great house and great location. Enjoy!

The house was everything on the description and more. The house truly just steps to the beach. In addition it is a very central location to everything in this area of Flordia, the space center, the races in Daytona. The restaurants were great and very well priced. The small town of Deland is really a nice place to spend the day. The property was very clean and well furnished.

Our stay was everything and more than what we expected. The house was so comfortable and the beach was great. Everyone commented on the comfort of the beds and the pool table added a lot of enjoyment to our vacation. The deck provided a great atmosphere for morning coffee and evening relaxation. We hope to be returning next year.

Your beach house was PERFECT for my family! It was very clean, roomy, and had everything we needed. JB's Fish Camp was awesome and I definitely recommend shopping at Flagler Beach!! We had a wonderful time, thank you so much!

We stayed at The Lake house Aug 1-8, 2009. We had a wonderful time. The beach is very close by and our 4 kids loved to play in the waves. The house is very clean, spacious and has everything you need. We certainly can recommend this beach house.

We stayed at the Lake's beach house from June 27, 2009 - July 3, 2009. What a great place and location. We have four kids and they had a blast in the house watching movies and playing pool. The beach is only a few steps away. The deck is great and provides some nice views…we even had the opportunity to see a rocket launch. The dolphins were fun to watch in the morning as we walked the beach. Everything you need is there!

We had a wonderful time at the beach house, it was clean and comfortable. The set up was perfect, the kids had their own space downstairs with the pool table and the big TV. The neighborhood was very quiet and the beach was practically empty most of the days we were there. I would highly recommend this rental, it was a great value.
