We had a wonderful time. The place was exactly as listed. We enjoyed the easy access to the beach so people could come and go as they pleased. Owners were very quick to respond to questions. We come to New Smyrna Beach every year with our family for spring break and have stayed at a different house each time, but after staying at the Lake House we believe we have found a house to return to.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Great beach house!

This home was exactly as portrayed and fit our family perfectly! It was a very short walk to the beach, which was very private and had no cars. The kitchen was well stocked. We had 3 generations of our family sharing the home. The beach chairs and toys were great for the toddlers and the pool table provided entertainment for others. Family rooms on both levels were convenient when the toddlers were taking their naps. The deck was a secure outdoor play area. All in all a great escape from winter!

Christmas in Florida

The only thing we need to say is..... WE ALL WANT TO GO BACK !!!! Thank you very much to the Lake Family for making their "home" available to be our "home" for Christmas. Of course we were unsure of the whole idea of renting - but after talking with the family we felt we were making the right decision. We traveled from NY to FL with Grandpa & our teenage children (19 & 16). We honestly felt at "home" ! We enjoyed a Christmas Eve dinner with FL Family - had plenty of seating/dishes/cooking items to enjoy a dinner with 12 guests. The Lake's were awesome and allowed us to bring our dog, Penny the Papillion with us. She didn't enjoy the hotel on the way down - but felt right at home laying on the deck overlooking "her turf" - We woke early and walked the beach enjoying the sunrise every morning - not commercial like the bigger beaches - so besides the fishermen we were alone. Our collection of shells that each of us found is now on our dining room table - don't look as nice with the surrounding snow... The book that the Lake's leave out with suggestions of restaurants/places to visit - is great - each review was spot on - we enjoyed everyone restaurant & place that we went to. We definitely recommend and WE WILL rent again - only next time longer so that we can have more time to enjoy.

Perfect Vacation Home !

The House was perfect,it exceeded our expectations.It has every thing you need.The location of the house and beach access is great,very private! We came down for Biketoberfest in Daytona and the extra lot next door work out perfect for parking our trailer. It was a short ride to Daytona for all the craziness but the best part was leaving it all behind and returning to our quiet beach house!

This was our second time staying in Lake Beach House. (scroll down to see first review written by Dave from Palm City) This review basically mimics my first, only one year later. New Smyrna Beach is a truly wonderful location to visit and the Lake House is a awesome way to do it. The location is fantastic! The no drive beach is the way to go. The house is very well maintained, clean, well stocked, and ready to go when you get there. The Lake's are wonderful people to deal with. I am currently recomending it to all I know, so make your reservation early. Go and enjoy!

Perfect Vacation Home for Family Gathering

We stayed at Lake Beach House for a week in February 2012 and had a wonderful stay. The location of the house is perfect. The beach is a short 2-minute walk and,as it’s away from the large condominium developments, the beach was very quiet - at times we had it all to ourselves. Downtown New Smyrna Beach and all its amenities is only a 15-minute drive away and very easy to get to. The house is large with plenty of space and everything you could need. It easily accommodated our family gathering (with three generations of our family) and we particularly enjoyed sitting out on the deck, listening to the ocean waves, and making use of the grill. The booking process was very simple. The owner was responsive to queries and I appreciated the option of paying by credit card and the extra security that comes with that. The security deposit was refunded promptly following our stay. I have already recommended this house to friends and family and believe it offers excellent value for money given its size and location.

My family had a fabulous vacation over New Years at the Lakes beach house. The beach is literally steps away, what an beautiful and quiet amazing beach! The kids went out every morning to collect shells and watch the dolphins. The house came equipped with everything we needed and then some, clean, simple and wonderfully laid out. I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the New Smyrna area and we certainly hope to return ourselves. In fact we wished we didn't have to go home.

Great Family Time!

We spent a few quality days at the Beach House with our adult children & grandchildren and also celebrated our granddaughters 4th birthday. Everything was just as described, you literally could walk in with a few personal items, some groceries and have a relaxing beach vacation. The beach was naturally beautiful and almost desolate. We booked on very short notice and the owners were very accommodating. Other than the beach, we didn't venture out much but did bring in seafood from one of the restaurants the owners suggested and it was fabulous! We hope to go back again next fall if not before and would definitely recommend this property.

Great house, great location! I recently stayed at the Lake Beach house as a combination family vacation, fishing, surfing trip. The house was everything we hoped for. Clean and well maintained. No suprises. It is everything they say it is and more. With the beach just steps from the house it was easy to surf anytime you wanted. There are actually two good surf breaks to either side of the beach acsess. No crowds. Most local surfers stay to the north end of the beach. The beach is the finest in the area for family fun. If you plan to traval to this area with children the no drive section of beach is a must. Kids can run free and you have no worries about their safety. As far as fishing goes, You could not ask for a better location for shallow water fishing. Bring your boat and launch less than a mile from the house at a free ramp at the entrance to the National Sea Shore park. There is also a bait shop right down the street with everything you need. Dont have a shallow water boat, no problem. Hire one of the local guides or rent kayaks a block away at JB's fish camp. There is great restraunts and a grocery store very close by. All in all it's a great house and great location. Enjoy!

The house was everything on the description and more. The house truly just steps to the beach. In addition it is a very central location to everything in this area of Flordia, the space center, the races in Daytona. The restaurants were great and very well priced. The small town of Deland is really a nice place to spend the day. The property was very clean and well furnished.

Our stay was everything and more than what we expected. The house was so comfortable and the beach was great. Everyone commented on the comfort of the beds and the pool table added a lot of enjoyment to our vacation. The deck provided a great atmosphere for morning coffee and evening relaxation. We hope to be returning next year.

Your beach house was PERFECT for my family! It was very clean, roomy, and had everything we needed. JB's Fish Camp was awesome and I definitely recommend shopping at Flagler Beach!! We had a wonderful time, thank you so much!

We stayed at The Lake house Aug 1-8, 2009. We had a wonderful time. The beach is very close by and our 4 kids loved to play in the waves. The house is very clean, spacious and has everything you need. We certainly can recommend this beach house.

We stayed at the Lake's beach house from June 27, 2009 - July 3, 2009. What a great place and location. We have four kids and they had a blast in the house watching movies and playing pool. The beach is only a few steps away. The deck is great and provides some nice views…we even had the opportunity to see a rocket launch. The dolphins were fun to watch in the morning as we walked the beach. Everything you need is there!

We had a wonderful time at the beach house, it was clean and comfortable. The set up was perfect, the kids had their own space downstairs with the pool table and the big TV. The neighborhood was very quiet and the beach was practically empty most of the days we were there. I would highly recommend this rental, it was a great value.

We absolutely loved the Lakes' beach house! We could hear the waves crashing on the shore as we sat on the balcony in the morning eating breakfast. JB's Fish Camp is a great restaurant that is located within walking distance. The Lakes' house was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. I can't wait to go back!

We had a great week here- loved the location,the house and the beach!Just a few steps to a beautiful sunrise each morning, and a few more to a wonderful sunset each night (at the fish camp)! Everything we needed was there,and the set-up of the house is great for the kids, they loved the big screen TVs and the pool table-- Thanks Again!!!

You will not be disappointed if you choose to vacation here. The Lake's Beachhouse was exactly what we were looking for. Everything you need is provided. Private, clean, roomy. We watched the dolphins jumping in the ocean from the deck in the morning. Don't miss the awesome Cape Canaveral National Seashore Park right up the street. No more shopping the websites for us next trip. We will return to the Lake's House!
