Newly renovated, oceanfront cottage 182 is located in Kill Devil Hills on the Outer Banks. This Outer Banks vacation rental is located 1/2 mile of the Wright Brothers Memorial in the Wright Cottage Court. This 3 bedroom oceanfront rental can accommodate 8 persons (includes children) comfortably. This cottage is the downstairs (though this floor is elevated) of a duplex (the upstairs is cottage 282--vrbo 21923).
This 3 bedroom oceanfront cottage has 2 baths, living room/kitchen, new stacked washer/dryer, new dishwasher and oceanfront deck. The kitchen area features (ALL NEW): stove/oven, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, cookware, dinnerware and silverware. The oceanfront decks leads off the living room area.
One full bath is located in the hallway. The other full bath is directly off the bedroom with 2 double beds. There is another bedroom with 1 queen bed and the final bedroom has 2 twin beds. This is a great cottage to get away in with your family or friends on the Outer Banks. It has free hi speed wireless internet and free linen set up. Linen is not refreshed during your stay. All TVs in this unit are flat panels and most are wall-hung.
There is an outdoor shower with an exterior entrance that is shared with the upstairs (vrbo 21923). The outdoor pool (open seasonally) is located at our adjacent property where you check in. You may also check out daily our YMCA passes on a first-come, first-serve basis.
All guests must be 21 years of age and older to register and occupy this rental unless they are a family unit. Rates are subject to change and special event or holiday rates may apply.

Our cottages are not run by a realty company so they are maintained by owners living on the beach. So if for any reason a mainteance issue was to occur, you can be sure that the situtaion would be handled quicker than waiting for a few days for someone to diagnose a problem.
Please note that the marker on google maps is on top of the rental. Also note that this rental has had a new roof installed (black) since 2002 when this satellite image was taken (in case you use another mapping program).

I searched online for the perfect property for our family of two adults and two adolescent boys for weeks. This was our first trip to the OBX and we wanted a place near the beach where we could really settle in. I talked to Tonia several times and she was so helpful. This was the perfect place! By the end of the week, I felt that we were leaving home! The proximity to the beach was wonderful, the floor plan of the cottage fit our needs perfectly and the central location was fabulous for day trips. The TVs in each bedroom was a real plus for the particular ages of the boys. We sat out on the front porch constantly and played games out there every night while we enjoyed the sound of the ocean and relished in the breeze! The cottage is beautiful, clean and updated, which is hard to find! The washer and dryer are a must for our family and we enjoyed that amenity. This is definitely a place we want to "come home" to again!

The rental was perfect for us this summer for seven of us (3 generations: 4 adults, 3 kids). The place feels like it is brand new! We cooked almost all of our meals there, and the kitchen was well stocked! The proximity to the beach was perfect (about a minute and you're at water's edge). We regularly used the pool and the beach volleyball court at the neighboring motel (same ownership). It was close to a supermarket (about a mile to a 24-hour Food Lion), and even closer to the Wright Brothers Memorial, a US National Park Service historical site. We weren't there long enough to use the clothes washer, but we did use the drier from time to time. The owners and their staff were very friendly, and although we didn't use them, the maintenance people were onsite and readily available (this rental is part of a cluster of units). Oceanfront on Kill Devil Hills isn't cheap, but this unit was worth what we paid for our time there!

Added all new living room/kitchen furniture and appliances (including adding in the stacked washer/dryer). I'm glad all of you had a great time during your stay in our cottage. It has been a big hit since the renovation---and I personally also love all the flat screen tvs in all the rooms we put up. We just returned from this cottage and we had a fabulous time! The cottage was very clean. Our family (2 adults, 5 children) were comfortable here, and we didn't feel like we were cramped at all. The stackable washer & dryer in the cottage were a definite plus for us! The walk to the beach was short, which was great! We experienced one small issue w/ the air conditioning in the cottage. I called the front desk and within 5 minutes, the maintenance guy was at the door to check it out. Within an hour, they had the problem fixed. The manager of the hotel (Days Inn, which owns the cottages) even came out to follow up on the AC problem. Great service! We'll definitely be back to stay here on our next OBX vacation! :)
