Located on Rt. 430 (Main Street) just off Rt. 86 Bemus Point exit. Only a one mile level walk to the town of Bemus Point where you will find fine dining, shopping, live free entertainment on a floating stage, library, church, golf, tennis, etc. Also ideally located in the middle of the Lake giving easy access North and South and to all the Lake has to offer. Chautauqua's amenities are unmatched and inexhaustible on one vacation.
The cottage has the cozy warm feeling of a lake cottage as the walls are knotty pine yet all the modern conveniences are available. There is a large level yard for games or relaxing and you can make use of the dock for fishing or swimming. Pilings are available for boat docking.
All cooking equipment and utensils are provided for your use in the kitchen. The laundry has a washer and dryer. Each bed room has a double bed and the living room has a queen size sofa bed. Gas BBQ grill, fire pit,chairs and table and chairs on the deck and lawn are also provided.We pride ourselves on providing a very clean and comfortable facility!

My husband and I spent a very enjoyable Fourth of July holiday (2009) with our daughter and her husband in the forward cottage--very clean and attractive. Ron was very helpful, providing us with a tarp for our bikes, to name just one example. This is a beautiful location. Looking through the large picture window, we enjoyed watching the great blue herons wading in the lake early in the morning. It was also a great departure point for jogging and bicycling--to Long Point State Park, around the lake, on the many country roads. I'd certainly recommend it very highly, although we didn't do any swimming or boating. This was a wonderful place to spend the Fourth of July, to see the flares lit around the lake, to enjoy a bonfire in the fire pit and roast marshmallows, to watch our neighbor's spectacular firework display. I'd certainly recommend this property.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

A wonderful vacation sight, excellent cottage, clean and nicely decorated. The owners are very helpful and delightful to meet. Loved waking in the morning to look out the window and see the lake and boats. In walking distance, is Bemus Point with shopping, dining and live entertainment at no cost. We love the lake and boating on Chataqua, except the lake is very shallow until you are out 20 feet or more. You cannot swim or let the children play in the water at the cottage due to seaweed. Chataqua is a truly beautiful resort area, and we recommend it highly.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Beverly and spent a lovely week at the cottage (Summer 2009) and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The cottage provided all the needed amenities (except internet access which for us was a big minus and easily correctable). Ron and Eleanor were great hosts and were available whenever needed. We loved quirky Beamus Point (Labor Day weekend) and the other nearby villages. Unfortunately, we "discovered" the Chautauqua Institution too late in our visit to take advantage of the events there. We also didn't utilize the lake - dock was a bit too narrow and rickety for me - but we could easily have rented a boat nearby. These are things we will do during our next visit. We highly recommend the cottage especially for those wanting to "de-compress" in an affordable, most comfortable, and enjoyable setting.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, age 55+.
