Year Purchased: 2008

Why the Owner Chose Boone

They say you are either "mountain" people or "beach" people - and although we enjoy both - we love and adore the Blue Ridge Mountains. After renting for years all over the surrounding area, we narrowed our search down to the Seven Devils area of the High Country - specifically due to its central location to all the unique and quaint mountain towns close by. Boone and Appalachian State University are 15 minutes up Hwy 105, Sugar Mountain Banner Elk, and Beech are just 10-20 minutes away, Grandfather Mountain and Linville are 10-15 minutes away - and the charming town of Blowing Rock is 20-25 minutes away via Shulls Mill Drive - one of the most scenic mountain drives in the High Country! Since the ski slope has closed, Seven Devils is now home to one of the largest Snow Tubing Resorts and Zipline courses on the East Coast - which is located 1.5 miles away at Hawksnest. Many folks drive up and buy their tickets for a time slot - and then go back and relax at the cabin until then.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

You will enjoy the mountain rustic elegance of the cabin which is updated for each season. Relax in big, overstuffed, comfortable furniture. The great room features a wood-burning, 2-story fireplace, exposed hand-hewn beams, custom crafted wood shutters and wood floors. The cabin has been appointed with brand new linens and Pottery Barn comforters, as well as new carpet in the bedrooms. The main great room is the perfect gathering spot for families and the sun room offers a quiet little escape to relax and renew. Everyone loves the large rocking chair front porch with comfy seating for six. The property sits in a picturesque wooded setting on a quiet circle culdesac of charming log homes. There is parkland across the street with huge boulder rock formations where children love to play while parents can watch from the front porch.

Owner's Map of Boone

Our family has been going to the mountains for years - and have all enjoyed some of our fondest memories in the High Country. There is so much to do in each of the four seasons as far as outdoor activities - and we have also grown to appreciate the great music, concerts and plays, fun restaurants, shopping, ASU football games and the many festivals throughout the year. It is our favorite place to get away from city life and enjoy nature and breathe the beautiful mountain air as well as slow down and RELAX....spending quality time with our family and friends. We hope you cherish your time at Blue Moon Cabin as much as we do with our friends and family!

This was our second visit to the Blue Moon Cabin and once again, it was like home. Beautifully decorated, totally equipped and wonderfully warm with an inviting porch and amazing fireplace where we rested, relaxed and recharged our batteries. The views were splendid, the people friendly and the eateries fantastic. Be sure to visit Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis and the many wineries surrounding Seven Devils. We highly recommend the Blue Moon Cabin to anyone wishing to have the ultimate mountain vacation or escape.

Great cabin, wonderful location

Guest: Chris (Chapel Hill, NC)
Date of Stay: 07/25/11 Review Submitted: 07/31/11

Spent four days in Seven Devils at the height of the July heat wave back home. The mountains were perfect: 70-something degrees, low humidity, sunny skies. This cabin was just a mile or so from a fun zipline, and a short drive to Grandfather Mountain. We also discovered a great hiking spot (thanks to the area guide sent to us by the owners of Blue Moon Cabin). The cabin had a nice enclosed back porch with a tv, if someone wanted space, and of course, a great open front porch with swing and rockers. Two comfortable bedrooms, a nice modern kitchen, and a spacious living area. Butterflies and chipmunks in the yard made it very peaceful after a day of adventure. Just 20 minutes to Boone, and we also did an all-day rafting trip on the French Broad (which was very fun, but 90 minutes away, near Asheville). I'll definitely come back to this area, and this cabin. Our kids - aged 21, 18, 13, all loved it.

Great Getaway!

Guest: Ron (Cary, NC)
Date of Stay: 02/10/11 Review Submitted: 02/28/11

This place is a perfect location and easy to get to a lot of cool places, restaurants, as well as Boone and Blowing Rock. The cabin itself is very cozy and has that wonderful feel of being in a log cabin. The owners paid attention to detail to make sure everything has been addressed to make your stay comfy. They even had various condiments in the cabinets for cooking and seasioning your meals. Having the crackling fireplace going all weekend long was awesome, with plenty of firewood to keep it fired up. The beds were comfortable and rocking on the front porch and swinging on the front porch swing was also very nice. Overall, this is a great place for a get away.

Date of Stay: 06/11/10 Review Submitted: 06/13/10

My husband and I stayed at the Blue Moon Cabin this weekend for our 20th wedding anniversary. Our stay was wonderful and the owners where very easy to work with. I made last minute reservations and the Coppotellis made every effort to accomidate our needs. The Blue Moon is in a great location, central to many attractions and great places to eat but yet off the beaten path. You can tell that the family takes great pride in their "home away from home". It is well decorated with everything you may need and is VERY clean. I would definately recommend taking a break from the real world and visiting the Blue Moon cabin. Come sit on the front porch and breath in the fresh air!!
