This was our 2nd visit to Blue Moon. We also stayed last year for Spring Break. The cabin is beautiful and in a beautiful setting. It is very well maintained and very clean. It has all of the comforts of home and is very cozy. We used the fireplace last year for smores, etc. This year it was to warm, but we slept each night with the windows open to the sound of crickets chirping. There are huge bolders in the natural area across the street from the cabin which both of my children enjoyed playing on and exploring. During our trips to this area we visited Grandfather Mtn., hiked numerous trails, zip lined at Hawksnest which is literally up the hill, white water rafted, went caving/spelunking at Morrells cave in TN. Rafting and Caving were through USA Raft and they did an amazing job. As you can see there are numerous things to do and ample opprotunities to have a lot of family time and make memories. Skiing is also available in winter months but we have missed the season each year by just a few days. The time frame that we have visited in March may be considered "off season" but as you can tell we still found plenty to do. The towns of Boone and Banner Elk are both neat, interesting towns with numerous shops, dining, etc. The area is not overly commercialized and both times it has been a very relaxing atmosphere for our family.

This was our second visit to the Blue Moon Cabin and once again, it was like home. Beautifully decorated, totally equipped and wonderfully warm with an inviting porch and amazing fireplace where we rested, relaxed and recharged our batteries. The views were splendid, the people friendly and the eateries fantastic. Be sure to visit Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis and the many wineries surrounding Seven Devils. We highly recommend the Blue Moon Cabin to anyone wishing to have the ultimate mountain vacation or escape.

Spent four days in Seven Devils at the height of the July heat wave back home. The mountains were perfect: 70-something degrees, low humidity, sunny skies. This cabin was just a mile or so from a fun zipline, and a short drive to Grandfather Mountain. We also discovered a great hiking spot (thanks to the area guide sent to us by the owners of Blue Moon Cabin). The cabin had a nice enclosed back porch with a tv, if someone wanted space, and of course, a great open front porch with swing and rockers. Two comfortable bedrooms, a nice modern kitchen, and a spacious living area. Butterflies and chipmunks in the yard made it very peaceful after a day of adventure. Just 20 minutes to Boone, and we also did an all-day rafting trip on the French Broad (which was very fun, but 90 minutes away, near Asheville). I'll definitely come back to this area, and this cabin. Our kids - aged 21, 18, 13, all loved it.

This place is a perfect location and easy to get to a lot of cool places, restaurants, as well as Boone and Blowing Rock. The cabin itself is very cozy and has that wonderful feel of being in a log cabin. The owners paid attention to detail to make sure everything has been addressed to make your stay comfy. They even had various condiments in the cabinets for cooking and seasioning your meals. Having the crackling fireplace going all weekend long was awesome, with plenty of firewood to keep it fired up. The beds were comfortable and rocking on the front porch and swinging on the front porch swing was also very nice. Overall, this is a great place for a get away.

My husband and I stayed at the Blue Moon Cabin this weekend for our 20th wedding anniversary. Our stay was wonderful and the owners where very easy to work with. I made last minute reservations and the Coppotellis made every effort to accomidate our needs. The Blue Moon is in a great location, central to many attractions and great places to eat but yet off the beaten path. You can tell that the family takes great pride in their "home away from home". It is well decorated with everything you may need and is VERY clean. I would definately recommend taking a break from the real world and visiting the Blue Moon cabin. Come sit on the front porch and breath in the fresh air!!

We can't thank you enough for sharing your beautiful cabin with us - especially since you had to change your own plans to accomodate us after our original date got "iced out". What family memories we have made - snow tubing at Hawksnest was a blast! Then it was on to Sugar Mountain for snow boarding - the kids couldn't wipe the smile off there faces! Sunday was spent by the fireplace playing board games - we nearly made our goal of playing every game in your cabinet! We've used VRBO for years, and have always had positive experiences, but this experience rises well above the rest! Blue Moon Cabin is in a fantastic location, is so beautifully decorated - and generously well-stocked. You have thought of everything to make your guests feel so welcome. We're already talking about our next trip back.

We arrived at Blue Moon just after dark and were so excited to explore your enchanting cabin. It is decorated in such a warm and inviting style. It was nice that you still had the Christmas trees up and we so enjoyed the stone fireplace and the roaring fire. We took a walk around this lovely neighborhood on Sunday morning in the chilly fog. There is still quite a bit of snow on the ground, which makes the woods so magical. We then drove to Valle Crusis to visit the Mast General Store, and then on to Boone for supper at the Daniel Boone Inn. Tonight, we plan to cook steaks on the grill. Thank you for sharing your mountain cabin with us. This is by far the lovliest cabin we have stayed in - certainly the most well-stocked and best decorated. We would love to come back to enjoy another season at Blue Moon.

We fell in love with Blue Moon Cabin!! You should have heard the "oohs" and "ahs" when we walked through the door. The photos on VRBO, while good, still do not give you the full picture of how utterly lovely this cabin is. Snow started to fall just as we arrived, and by Saturday morning everything was blanketed in white - just gorgeous! We never got to tube at Hawksnest (it was closed due to the weather), but we did brave the elements to snowtube at Sugar Mountain...we loved it, frozen toes and all!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin. The decorations were so pretty and everything is so cozy and inviting. We loved it!!!

Our experience at the cabin was more unusual than most. Word was a snow storm was brewing and we had to leave Orlando, FL a day early in hopes that we beat the storm. We set foot on the property at 8am and at that moment… it started to snow. We were subsequently “snowed in” for 4 days. One might think this would be a nightmare with 3 kids (9, 5 & 2), but it was the most enjoyable trip we’ve had!! Instead of our original plan of daily hikes and site seeing, we were able to sled, play in the snow and enjoy countless hours of relaxation by the fire. Mike and Marianne were such wonderful hosts!! They kept connected with us to make sure we had everything we needed via e-mail …. thank goodness for WiFi. Thank you for providing us a safe haven that we will cherish forever and will happen upon in years to come.

Thank you so much for sharing your bit of paradise with us. We so enjoyed our week away at Blue Moon Cabin. You both put so much thinking into providing your guests all the comforts of home! All of your outing recommendations were right on - you took all the guess work out of it. Being originally from Boston - this area, especially Blowing Rock, reminded us of home. Now living in Florida, our children (8 & 10), are true Floridians. So seeing snow on Thanksgiving Day was the icing on the cake. We have made some wonderful family memories to last a lifetime!! Thank you again - hopefully we will be back next year! God Bless!

We have stayed in some awesome cabins in the past, but Blue Moon is our absolute favorite. The layout is so cute, convenient, and very comfortable. We are blown away by your interior design....the colors, the furniture, the accessories, it all comes together so perfectly. You've done a beautiful job inside and out....it's really quite a showplace. Thank you for the opportunity to share in your little bit of heaven. God Bless you and your family.

What a wonderful cabin to spend a winter break with our children. From the minute we walked into the cabin, we had so much fun. Our family will cherish these memories in the cabin for many years to come. Lee (7) learned to ski at Beech Mountain, and Carley (9) experienced the first time on the slope and up a chair lift. The family enjoyed tubing at Hawksnest, and a hike near Banner Elk. We never wanted to leave the cabin and fireplace in the evening, so we cooked in every night. It is Sunday morning, the snow is falling and the children are sledding. We will have a hard time saying goodbye to the Blue Moon cabin. The family is already talking about when we can come back.

This was our first visit to this area -- we came up to visit Hawksnest snow tubing. It was a blast!!! The cabin far exceeded our expectations & looked so warm and cozy when we arrived. This was our children's (5 & 10 years old) first stay in a cabin. When we told them we were going to stay in a "cabin", all they could see in their minds was an old dusty shack like in the cowboy movies their daddy watches. They now have a new perspective. Thanks for all the warm accommodations -- hope to visit again.

Wow!! What a great vacation and wonderful place to stay! We were pleasantly surprised to find the cabin decorated for the holidays - it's beautiful and perfect for our family of 5. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Linville Falls - it was beautiful!! We rang in the New Year by the fire, and enjoyed your selection of DVD's (The Grinch, and High School Musical were definitely the kids favorites!). We spent New Year's Day snow tubing at Hawksnest - great fun! The kids loved the boulders across the street and exploring the backyard. Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us - we enjoyed every minute of our stay!

We were on several missions this weekend, and we accomplished all of them! We found this year's perfect Christmas tree (13 ft.) at one of the many wonderful tree farms, we got to stay in an awesome cabin, and we were able to relax and get away from everything back home. Your cabin provides the perfect atmosphere, and we thank you for sharing your mountain home with us. We just love the shutters! We had a special surprise when we arrived & saw snow. It was extremely beautiful.

What a beautiful cabin & get-away! We've only been here for two days and it's been so relaxing & so much fun. The first day we were here, we went on the nature trail and climbed up the waterfalls. Today, we are either going shopping or just relaxing. Being in this cozy (and beautifully decorated) cabin makes me never want to leave!! I really love your shutters!! The loft was wonderful to stay in. Everything about this cabin is great!! Thank you so much!!
