The location was great and for a small cottage, they maximized the space to make for a comfortable girls trip for three. The cottage is centrally located to every thing in Seaside. Sandpiper Vacation Rentals was responsive to our questions. The internet connection was a little hit or miss for the first two days and while we were never able to connect to the Tight Lines server, we were able to connect to an unsecured server to meet our internet needs. The only other concern was the sheets on the trundle bed had not been changed. The sheets were wadded up on both mattresses under the bedspread and both were dirty and full of sand. Fortunately there was a spare set of sheets.

Although it is a bit small, it was perfect for our family. The beds are perfect and we all slept well. The kitchen is small but we chose to enjoy the Seaside restaurants. The cottage is close to the square so we loved the nice walks for breakfast and to the beach. We were very frustrated that the listing promised wi-fi but the signal was either unavailable at times to so weak that it was worthless at other times. Great Southern was our favorite place to eat. Bud & Alley's pizzeria and taco bar were both horrible. Loved the CabanaMan beach service and the bloody mary's at Great Southern. The cottage has a nice porch and the street is quiet. A perfect family getaway!
Owner response:We installed a new high powered WiFi. The signal in Tight Lines is now strong.

We spent a long weekend here in September with 2 adults and an infant. We have stayed at Seaside many times but this was our first time not using the Cottage Rental Agency and the process was very smooth and easy. We would stay here again. The house was convenient and pleasant- not huge but plenty of room for the three of us. Seaside is our favorite vacation destination- there's just no place like it.

My wife, two-year-old son and I had a great time at Tight Lines. We really enjoyed being just off the Ruskin Place Artist Colony. You can see the Great Southern Grill from the front of the house, so you are very close to the city square. It is also just around the corner from the family pool and playground, so the location is just about perfect for families. Also, the downstairs bedroom is located far enough away from the living area and the upstairs bedroom to allow parents to send kids to bed without having to whisper and tiptoe around. We found the home's furnishings and condition to be just right. For homes in this price range, we felt that we got a lot!

tight lines was exactly as its webpage described it. it was pretty, clean and well maintained. the living area was a bit small though and the house number is nearly impossible to read, making it difficult to find the house upon one's first visit. finally, it would be great if the cottage had a few family-friendly games (even a deck of cards), beach toys and dvd's. my hubby and daughter were there during a tropical storm and ended up staying in the cottage more than they had planned. it would have been perfect to have had some time-passers! the managers were very flexible, efficient and helpful. we would use it again!

An enjoyable stay though uneven experience: location (+) = proximity to everything, location (-) garage & garbage views from porch. AC worked surprising well, given vaulted ceilings. Need to hire a handyman to remedy wood chairs, lights (lack thereof), worn paint, replace cumbersome key box. Overpriced compared to other properties we've enjoyed.

My husband, myself, and 5 and 7 year old stayed at Tight Lines for 7 days in March 2011. The house is cozy but certainly large enough for my family. The screened in front porch is a nice gathering place. I appreciated that East Ruskin street is quiet and I was comfortable watching my kids ride their bikes back and forth in front of the cottage in the evening. We used the outdoor charcoal grill one evening for dinner and sat on the shared deck--very nice! Tons of things to do in Seaside, but my family spent almost every day on the beach. We rented bikes from Big Fish bike rentals and had family bike rides nearly every morning. Even though my son still has training wheels, this area is wonderful for riding. It was great to have a washer/dryer available after our beach days. We did use the covered Seaside pool and it was nice, too. If you are a person who does not like extra firm mattresses, you might want to bring a mattress pad as the beds are very firm. You can get a full size foam pad from Wal-Mart for under $30. Seaside is fabulous! It is a great place for families.
Owner response:We have just purchased new mattresses for this cottage. Thanks!

Tight Lines and Seaside is a very relaxing place to stay. We only spent 5 days / 4 nights and it felt like much longer! The cottage had everything our family of 5 needed. It was an excellent place to stay and we plan on going back. Some additional info - no car is needed if staying in Seaside. Taxi / shuttles are available right at the new airport for very little money ($65 each way). Food in Seaside is expensive but that is to be expected in vacation areas. It is easy to have the driver stop at the Publix on your way into town to pick up some groceries or to ride a bike up there. The pools in Seaside are very nice and the little artist community is fun to walk through as well.

Wonderful experience at Tight Lines! The size was more than enough room for our family of 3 and everything was as written in the listing description. We love Seaside and this was our second visit here. We want to make it an annual trek for our family. Tight Lines had all the amenities we needed for our week's stay. We loved how close it was to the center of town and our daily walks to and from the beach took no time at all. We actually had one of the shower heads break on us (there are 2 showers so we were not concerned) and we notified the owner that evening and he had someone at the place the NEXT morning and it was fixed!! It felt like we had our own staff working for us so we could completely relax and not worry about anything! Only suggestion we'd like to throw out there - better mattresses on the 2 queen beds. They were a little thin - we tried sleeping in both. Not a huge deal, but just a thought for improvements over time. We are looking forward to next year's trip to fabulous Seaside!!!!
Owner response:We have recently replaced the queen mattress and the full bed downstairs is now a new trundle bed

Tight Lines was a nice house, it is situated in a good location, centered between downtown, the art area, and the tennis courts. The listing was accurate, although small, it easily slept 5 with two bedrooms and a nice loft; plus having two full bath's and washer/dryer was very convenient for a smaller property. The house is newly painted, so it looks great from the outside, inside there are a couple of small glitches (ceiling fan in main room doesn't work, blinds on kitchen door to deck need to be replaced, and there is no lock on the upstairs bathroom door. Other than that, for the price, a great value. Dealing with Mark and the folks at VRBO was easy and they were very accommodating. If you are traveling with another family, Tight Lines has a sister house connected via the patio which is a bit larger, so we thought this would be a great setting for a couple families.

A friend and I were looking for a cottage with all the comforts for a quick girls' getaway. Tight Lines didn't disappoint! We each had our own bed and bath, made great meals in the well-equipped kitchen, and most important, were a very short stroll from Seaside's shops, restaurants, and of course, the beach! All at better rates than many smaller cottages.

First, I would say that the home had a great location. Easy walks to dining, shopping, beach and pools. The house needs some TLC. The side deck has protruding nail heads and my daughter got an anormous splinter in her foot. Also, the description of the property included stating that it had a land line. Despite two phones in the house and a posted phone number there is in fact no land line. That item has since been removed from the description but I suggest that the owners remove the phones and posted phone number to avoid confusion. Better yet pay for the land line as cell phone reception is spotty at best and when traveling with children a working phone is needed in case of emergency. There are some other aesthetic issues (e.g., goofy upstairs shower, ridiculously high towel racks, portruding nail head on stairs, upstairs TV without working remote and the sound appears to be going). I would say that it is overall not a good set up for families with younger children.
Owner response:The phones have been removed, and the nail pops have been fixed.

We stayed here over New Years and had a great time! The location was perfect because we were able to park the car and walk everywhere. It was right behind all the shops and places to eat. The house was just the right size for the four of us for a short stay.
