The cabin was very clean but not worth the rate we paid. The cabin is supposed to accommodate 2-8 people but we had 4 adults in our party and we were not very comfortable. The beds are small and the living room furniture is sparce and uncomfortable. We all took quick showers and we still ran out of hot water. We chose the cabin because it was advertised as "secluded" and we really didn't plan to do many sightseeing activities. The cabin was not very appealing to spend time relaxing. Even though the weather was beautiful, there are no views from the cabin. I have stayed in other VRBO properties and had wonderfull experiences. This one was a little disappointing. Overall, I was not impressed with Townsend. I live in middle Tennessee and I love east Tennessee so I was looking forward to enjoying Townsend. I think that the chamber of commerce needs to work on improving customer service in the area. Cades Cove is beautiful but hospitality needs to improve if the area would like to promote repeat business.Owner response: Dear Robert.. Sorry you didn't have a good time but we do appriciate your review/opinion & will address the complaints honestly. First I'll say.. sorry you got lost when trying to find the cabin after checkin.. it was just down he road 1 mile and would have been glad to take you there if needed. The rental rate you paid for 4 people in a 1300 square ft very secluded cabin with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths is very competative for this time of year. We don't advertise mountain views so i can't help you with that. All woodland views are as described. Some of the furnture in the cabin is brand new and we feel are represented very well in written description, pictures and in a video on our personal website. We have never had any complaints about the hot water but if 4 people showered it's possible it could get cold depending on how long you showered. We know that would happen at "any house" but we will look into it for sure. I looked at the comment about the cabin not being appealing to relax in.. All I can just say is Sorry we don't understand that. Really hate to hear you didn't like our Town. Townsend is the "Peaceful Side of the Smokies".. People can't wait to stay here near the park entrance and beautiful Cades Cove. They just love it here and I have never heard any complaints about staying here on the Peaceful Side. We truly hope you find what you are looking for in the future and we ask that anybody that reads this please take a look at all our reviews and see that the Lady Slipper cabin is truly great place to vacation in Townsend Tennessee. We do our best to please everyone but honesty... sometimes it just isn't possible and that's the hard truth.. Thanks for your business and God Bless.

There was just two people so have never stayed upstairs but it is a great cabin whether a couples getaway or a family vacation. You can't beat the seclusion of this cabin. This was the 3rd time we've stayed in this cabin and never have had any problems of any kind anytime. The cabin is very clean and well stocked in supples needed for the stay. From the linens & dishware to pots & pans. Just bring your food and you'll enjoy your stay just like us.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Very clean and secluded, just as advertised. The only thing that made our trip less than perfect is that I had to leave our two little dogs at home.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our family had a great stay. Opening the door to the cabin the first time left a wonderful impression! It is very nice to walk into a place that you can smell, see and feel is clean and well taken care of!! Tipton Cabins are basically spotless. It is obvious a lot of TLC goes into the Tipton Cabins. You have been able to offer your guests a true home away from home while on vacation:) The kids loved the room names upstairs and they fit their personalities....they had chosen which room each one wanted to sleep in when we did the virtual tour. We didn't know the rooms were named and it couldn't have been more of neat experience for them. My husband and I have stayed in one of your other cabins but this one is totally secluded in the woods. Very peaceful and a lovely deck to sit out on. We got to watch deer at dusk get up from where they had bed down for the day and as we were loading up to head out on our last morning we had the fun time of watching a Pileated Woodpecker! You do require a vehicle to get around. This cabin is not like a few of their other cabins that are within walking distance of restaurants and activities in Townsend. The ONLY improvement would be the main bed downstairs. It is extremely hard, so we took the blankets that we had brought with us and spread them out on the sheet for extra padding.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This is our 2nd year coming for a quiet weekend. We didn't even look for a different place to stay our first trip was so perfect! The Tiptons keep the cabin clean and are very accommodating. The cabin is secluded in beautiful woods...the hot tub is private and open to the stars...the fireplace was perfect. If you're looking for a quiet/private weekend, romantic or with girlfriends, this place is perfect and for a great price!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We loved this cabin. We stayed Dec 23-27. It was VERY clean and nicely decorated. It had everything we needed and more!!! I was so surprised and excited when we arrived and they had put up a Christmas tree. It was so thoughtful. The cabin is very secluded and private. It is also close to everything and easy to get in and out. I would highly recommended any Tipton Cabin. We also enjoyed meeting you and hope you have a very Happy New Year!!! We will return. My husband & I spent 4 days at the Lady Slipper in mid-August. It was all we expected - secluded, quiet, clean - perfect for getting away for some much needed R&R. I loved being able to sit on the deck for my morning Bible Reading and listening to the birds and the quiet. We would highly recommend this cabin or any the Tipton's offer for your next vacation. Chuck and Lisa were very gracious hosts. God Bless.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our family of 4 just spent several days at Lady Slipper, Tipton Cabins. It was such a relaxing experience! The cabin was gorgeous, secluded and had all the amenities we needed. It was such a pleasure to soak our tired bones in the hot tub after strenuous hikes in the Smokies. It was also great to throw our dirty clothes in the washer/drying and have clean clothes in the morning. We liked that we could cook breakfast and dinner, and we packed lunches for daily hikes. I would highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for quiet and seclusion. We live downtown Chicago and felt the green scenery and quiet sounds of nature filled our souls and rejuvenated us. I can image this cabin being cozy in the winter months. Lastly, but most importantly, the owners are a pleasure to work with.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
