Accommodations: House, 6 Bedrooms + Den, 5 Baths (Sleeps 10)
Keywords: House
This is the historic Pilot House built in 1923 by Henry Ford. It is part of a 600' ore freighter that was cut off and put on a cliff overlooking the west shore of Put-in-Bay on South Bass Island. The Ship is visible from the Jet Express, a high volume passenger ferry that takes you to the Island. This house is approximately 7000 sq ft. and has been a private residence since 1986. There are four levels containing five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a large sized bar, pool table and multiple sitting areas. This house has two kitchens, massive decks on all levels, an outdoor fire pit and a fenced in area for child safety. Lastly, the fourth floor of this house is the pilot house which has the original steering wheel. It is the ideal room for a morning coffee or evening cocktail. The pilot house has 180 degrees of lake views.
Put-in-Bay is an island in Lake Erie known for its vibrant night life as well as its many family amenities. The world's longest bar and world's longest swim-up bar are located here. It also has several wineries, a golf course, putt-putt, caves, beaches and bike trails. The major mode of transportation on the island is by golf cart.
Our ship house has recently been featured on MTV's "Extreme Cribs" program. I has also been featured on HGTV's "Extreme Homes", the Travel Channel's "Extreme Vacation Homes" and countless written publications including OHIO magazine and Lake Erie Living Magazine.
