Amazing place to stay

Guest: Road Crew (Plymouth, MN)
Date of Stay: 03/19/12 Review Submitted: 04/28/12

My family has stayed here four times in the past four years. We have stayed here during both ski season and summer season. In short - we love this place and we never want to go home at the end of our trips! It is very spacious and comfortable for our family of 7. Some of the highlights of what we like best about the home are: -great kitchen for cooking (big stove & oven, fridge, wine fridge, pots, pans, seasonings, everything you need to cook great meals). -5 bedrooms, 4 of which have their own bathroom. -the whole house is very nicely finished. Very impressive stone work, wood work, and decorations. -heated garage that our truck can fit into with the thule on top. -great views of the mountains. This house does not feel like a rental property, it feels like a house that a friend is letting you borrow. This house is a very good value in our opinion and if you choose to stay here, you will not be disappointed!

Manly Digs for a Guys Only Ski Trip

Guest: Sean (USA)
Date of Stay: 02/20/12 Review Submitted: 02/26/12

Just got back from a guys only ski trip and trauma course and had the privilege of staying in this beautiful this rustic Meadow Village private rental. Very roomy for 6 guys, photos do not do this place justice. Outstanding decor inside with breathtaking mountain views outside. Plenty of space to relax, play pool, watch TV, enjoy the multiple fireplaces. The kitchen was so well done, we forgot about eating out most nights and dined like kings on our own fare from the nearby grocery. Seconds away from great restaurants, shopping and groceries. Easy drive in to Big Sky resort for recreation and conference. To top it all of...the renter is a pleasure work with. Truth be told, on more than one occasion a guy in my group would pull me aside to tell me how pleased they were with the accommodations...made me feel like the hero of our trip! You can't go wrong with this property. We will return!

Loved this home Summer of 2010

Guest: Jenell (Ohio)
Date of Stay: 06/20/10 Review Submitted: 04/16/11

I have been meaning to write a review of this home, but after we got back from our vacation last summer (which was much needed), I started school again and as a wife and mom, life is very busy! We had a wonderful time staying in this house! We were able to bring our Great Dane (not sure if animals are allowed now) and he really enjoyed laying out on the lawn in the sun and watching the golfers. My family and I really liked being close to the mountain and across the street for a wonderful little market and town center. The neighbors next door were so much fun to chat with and we all had an exciting event happen on the 4th of July during the fireworks. What a view we had! The house is very deceiving when you pull up, as it looks very small, but inside it is spacious and accommodated the multiple groups we had stay with us. The grill worked great, we loved the kitchen and the countertops. When it was warm upstairs from the sun, we escaped downstairs where it was much cooler. The bathrooms were well stocked and we loved the master bath (clawfoot)!!! We are going to put one in our house now. The only negative I would say about the house was that the mattresses needed to go. They were really uncomfortable, not just in the master, but in a couple others also. I am sure that has been taken care of by now since I am writing this almost a year from when we took our vacation. If we ever go back to MT, we hope to see that this home is available again! We would definitely stay here again! Thank you! The Connor Family

Owner response:So happy to hear that everyone enjoys our cozy home. Having just purchased the home last March (2010), we had not replaced the existing mattresses that came with the house when we bought it when this review was written. We now have replaced all the mattresses, bedding and added even more new furniture and amenities for future renters. We love the home and have furnished it to live comfortably for all to enjoy it as we do.

Kevin: We loved your Big Sky house. It was the perfect size for ten of us. Each of the four couples had their own private bedroom with ensuite bath, and the two children enjoyed the bunk room next to the master bedroom suite where their parents stayed. The arrangement of the house, with three quite separate bedroom areas, worked very well for us. We greatly appreciated your allowing us to bring the Labs. The dog’s owners weren’t fretting about the dog’s welfare in kennels, and the dogs added to everyone’s enjoyment. Because dogs are not allowed on most of the Lone Mountain Ranch groomed cross-country trails, we were apprehensive about where to take them for walks, but we found plenty of places. The Town Center cross country trails just across the road and the trail down to Ouzel Falls (a gorgeous walk in the winter time) are dog friendly. We also took the dogs on longer Forest Service cross country trails at Beehive Basin above the downhill ski area, and along Porcupine Creek a few miles up the highway towards West Yellowstone. The great variety of winter activities was heavenly for our diverse group. The younger couples and the children were excited about the vast assortment of Alpine skiing. The older couples took the dogs on Nordic expeditions. When the children were tired, a phone call brought one of us from your home to pick them up, and the children’s parents could continue to ski. We knew the shuttle was available, but the drive was so easy that we didn’t even try the shuttle. Your video and TV equipment didn’t get much use, as there was so much else to do, but we did watch an Olympic event or two and it worked fine. We appreciated the Wi-Fi access. As instructed, we did not adjust the heat, and found the inside temperatures fine without the gas fireplaces. (It was relatively warm outdoors for this time of year, with lows in the teens and highs in the thirties.) Some of us cracked a window open at night. We couldn’t resist building a fire in the spectacular wood-burning fireplace, and two of the evenings our resident Eagle Scout built fires which drafted well. Although we planned to eat out one night, we didn’t. It was too much fun to cook and eat in your house. We were able to squeeze all ten of us around the dining table. The kitchen is great and very well supplied. We even used the outdoor barbeque to grill steaks one night. You have so obviously given such attention to detail that we

The house is deceiving when you first see it from the street. But once you get inside - WOW! We went from room to room mumbling the word "awesome" over and over again. The craftsmanship in the stonework and woodwork was wonderful, warm, and inviting. The view of Lone Peak from the living room was spectacular, showing it's many moods at different times of the day. The kitchen was well furnished with modern appliances, making it easy for us to cook and share meals together. The five bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths were all comfortable and gave us the room and space we needed for our group. Radiant floor heating was a definite plus, and we took full advantage of the fireplace and enjoyed fires every night. For the techies, wireless internet access was just what we needed. The location of the house was great, just across from the town center with it's shops and restaurants and minutes away from the Big Sky resort. It was perfect. Our stay helped me remember what I love about the mountains and Montana. We thoroughly enjoyed your lovely home and would recommend it highly to anybody. We were lucky to find you and extremely happy that we did! My wish is to return in the summer for fly fishing on the Gallatin River and golf in the back yard. It doesn't get any better than this. Sorry to carry on this way, but as you can see, this was a great vacation for us. Thank you for everything! Mike McGuigan

Owner response:Thanks Mike. Hope to see you back in the summer!

The home exceeded our expectations. The architecture of the house itself is incredible in its detailing. The accommodations; bedrooms, living areas, kitchen, bathrooms, are all spacious and comfortable. Convenient location for Big Sky and surrounding restaurants, shops and bars. We cooked, enjoyed a fire nightly and were at the mountain in no time. Kevin was a pleasure to work with. We will be back.

Owner response:Thanks Kari! Glad you had a good time. See you next time!

Recently returned from a week at this house in Big Sky and were so pleased with everything about the place. 5 siblings & 3 "outlaws" rendezvoused from Seattle, Florida & Wisconsin and consensus is that the house exceeded the photos & descriptions on the website. It was clean, comfortable, beautifully designed & furnished and every need was met. I had packed lots of spices, games & videos and never opened the box as the kitchen was so well equipped and the book & video libraries extensive. Unexpected cold & snow curtailed some outdoor activities so having such a wonderful, roomy & cozy place to hang out together became all the more important. The area is just spectacular and we did get 2 gloriously clear, sunny(and cold)days, one for a drive to The Tetons, the other for a northern loop of Yellowstone & Paradise Valley. Saw lots of elk, a couple moose, & a valley full of maybe 1000 bison in a setting right out of Dances with Wolves. We all would love to go back for another week at a more dependable time of the year for horseback rides, hiking, ATV trips etc. Kevin was easy to work with and quick in responding to all needs, though he obviously has no pull with Mother Nature. There are a number of nice eating & drinking places in the new village a very short walk across the road. All in all a very positive experience. Thanks Kevin!

Owner response:We would welcome you back anytime Phyllis! Thanks for the nice comments! Kevin

Kevin, we had a wonderful stay at your quite elegant home. It was big enough that all eleven of us fit comfortably. The house itself is beautiful and very large, and it was convenient to all of the things we wanted to do in the Galletin Valley. Very clean and very well appointed, and you were very easy to deal with. Merci! Michael

We really enjoyd our stay. Your house has real character; unique and very fitting. And very comfortable as well. We all agreed that a ski trip should be the next family get together, and you house would be a great place to meet again. Thank you. None of us could think of a single complaint. Carl Youngstrom

We had a wonderful stay in Big Sky, and this house worked out perfectly for the whole family. It is a fantastic combination of rustic and modern that must be seen to be believed. Very clean and comfortable, and in a great location. The whole rental process was easy and smooth...we would definitely like to return next year. Our only (minor) complaint was the lack of an outdoor grill for barbecuing. Many thanks, Kevin!

Owner response:Thanks Bill. I'm glad you liked the house. I guess by popular demand we'll be bringing the BBQ back up. Sorry it wasn't there for you. Next time! Kevin

We had 10 people in our group and the house accommodated all of us comfortably. It had great character, was clean and spacious. Conveniently located near 2 shopping villages, one just across the street (which is not likely in Montana). Most memorable moment at the house was when we had a fire going in the outside fireplace while we watched the 4th of July fire works going off at the end of the golf course (picture perfect). Needless to say, the area is gorgeous. I recommend the following things to do; Horseback riding at Canyon Adventures 1-800-520-7533 (located in Big Sky right on Route 191, it's a trip when crossing the river on horseback), Obviously you need to visit Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons (Must see at Yellowstone is the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone), We went to our first Rodeo, definately a must experience, Saphire mining in Philipsburg and lastly, visit the Ousel Falls Park Trial that is located just down the road (Obtain Discovery Map of Bozeman/Big Sky, very helpful). Something one must consider before visiting this part of the United States, it takes awhile to get somewhere. We were there for 8 nights, could have stayed longer. If the opportunity arises, we would definately go back, same house too. Thanks Kevin!

Owner response:Thanks Kelley! Glad you had a good time. Come back anytime!

We’ve never written a review after staying somewhere, but this place was so perfect we wanted to tell people. We rented the house for a week in late March to ski with our four kids. We drove in an LX470 from MN with a Thule on the roof and a luggage rack on the back. The first thing we noticed was that the truck, with all luggage racks attached, fit in the garage. This is such a small thing, but it made the stay significantly easier. The next morning we also realized that the garage seems to be heated because it was 55 degrees. When we walked in, we found the house to be more impressive than the pictures had indicated. It is immaculately clean and new. All the furniture, fixtures, and finishings are high quality. Other places we’ve stayed at in the past were outdated and worn out, but this house was the opposite. Our favorite part was the kitchen - we enjoy cooking. The KitchenAid six burner stove, wine refrigerator, refrigerator – all the appliances were top notch, including washer and dryer (Maytag Neptune) in the basement as well. The kitchen also has all the pots, pans, cookie sheets, spices, etc… enough for a gourmet chef. All the little things that seem to be missing at most properties were there. The bedrooms worked well for us – we each had our own bedroom. The master bedroom was very nice with a gas fireplace, large closet, and an amazing master bath with multi-head shower. There are four bedrooms upstairs (in addition to the master, two of them have their own attached bathrooms). There is one bedroom downstairs with its own bathroom. Also downstairs is a spacious entertainment room with a big screen TV, statellite TV, a surround sound DVD player, VCR and some VHS movies. There is also a twin bed and queen bed on the floor in the basement for extra sleeping capacity if you need it. Lastly, working directly with the owners (Kevin) was much more pleasant than working with a rental agency or company. He was very helpful and easy to work with on any requests we had. As an example, the day we were leaving we woke up to 8 inches of snow on the ground and blizzard conditions forecast for much of our drive home. Kevin generously offered to let us use the house one more night at a greatly reduced price since it was available the next night. As far as negatives, these depend on opinion. There is currently no hot tub at the house, however Kevin said they are considering putting one out back this summer. And to be honest,

Secondly, wi-fi internet is not available at the house, but at this point that is only available via satellite and Kevin said it is prohibitively expensive. In the meantime, it’s easy to drive across the street to the Hungry Moose for internet access. Bottom line, the house was perfect for us and we will definitely be back next year – and possibly this summer.

Owner response:Thanks Jason. You guys were a great crew to work with and we'd love to have you back anytime. Kevin

Date of Stay: 02/19/09 Review Submitted: 03/11/10

My husband and I recently rented this house during ski season, we thought the photo's on line were georgeous little did we know just how amazing the whole house is! There were 11 of us total all of various ages spanning from mid 50's to 14 months everyone had plenty of privacy in their living spaces. Five bedrooms all of which have their own baths except foor the one bunkroom. The great room accomodated all of us at the same time without a problem! We shopped in Bozeman before we got to the house as individual faimilies and I must confess I was sweating the refrigerator situation. When I got there I fell in love immediately with the kitchen, the refrigerator was more than sufficient for all of our foods and I was none to happy to cook in even though I was on vacation. The garage was a major plus it housed all of our different ski gear. There are so many fireplaces for people to campout in front of. We had a blast! I have told my husband I would love to return next year! There are so many things to do from snowmobiling yellowstone to dogsledding and of course skiing! Everyone in our party found something to fit their adventure levels! This would also be a great summer vacation destination it is pure wilderness around with so manyh activities for the whole family. We loved Montana and every minute of staying at the house! What a great vacation home!!!!!!

Owner response:Thanks for the nice words guys! Hope to see you all again soon.
