Earlier this month we spent 4 nights at this delightful cottage. Truly a home away from home. The cottage is spacious, very clean, comfortable, has a well-equipped kitchen, a very pleasant yard space with a gazebo, barbecue, fruit trees and a well maintained garden and is only a two minute drive from Yellowstone Park. Although it is located on the main drag we were always able to park on the street in front and noise was not a problem. The Food Farm within walking distance of the cottage is an excellent source of all grocery needs. The manager was very helpful with our booking and was available at any time if needed..thank you Kristin. We would recommend it to friends and family or anyone wanting a cosy place to stay while visiting the park. Thank you for sharing Rosemary’s Cottage with us.

I have stayed here several times now. You would not want to try to fit ten people in here, unless you are accustomed to life in a particularly happenin' fraternity house. But here is the key consideration: at Rosemary's Cottage, you will pay much less than you would at a hotel, and the hotel will not come with a fully appointed kitchen, and space to breathe.
Owner response:Dear "Fort Abraham Lincoln" - Your return visits are a huge compliment to the suitability of the cottage, and are sincerely appreciated by me. You are an excellent guest! Rosemary, owner

My husband & I stayed at the cottage for 4 nights while we visited Yellowstone. We loved it. It was claen, comfortable and had everything we needed provided. Easy to get in and out of the park and close to town attractions & grocery store. We would definitely stay again & will recommend to family & friends. - Just one caution, the bathtub is fitted with a shower but the step in and out is high.
Owner response:Dear "Sept 2011 Stay" - Glad you enjoyed the house. The bathtub is indeed deep, reflective of its vintage 1920s construction for a luxurious soak. Thanks for your business. Rosemary, owner

The house itself is way bigger than expected and ridiculously close to the Yellowstone Entrance. We only had 2 adults, but there was enough room for at least four, and I don't only mean the sleeping areas. The entire place is gorgeous, but my favorites were the reading room, the kitchen, the bathroom and the backyard. Every detail you could want is taken care of and the rental manager is available should you need anything (but you won't). We were able to park directly in front of the house every night, the claw foot tub fit my tall frame well, and the reading and informational material provided was more than enough. The only complaint I could find would be the lack of tv, but we did bring dvds as suggested, there were also 2 dvds in the reading room and you can rent more in town (a stereo with IPod capability is provided). I can also recommend the mexican food across the street :)
Owner response:Dear "More Than Advertised" - I'm so pleased you found my house exceeding expectations! I purposefully chose not to include TV given that there is so much to do and see, and wanted to retain that "retreat" quality. I provide wireless, however, to enable multi-faceted ways of staying connected. I appreciate your patronage. Rosemary, owner

Without doubt the best place we have found to stay on our long and extensive travels in the USA. The place was spotlessly clean and was a real "home from home" .So nice to cook breakfast and evening meals in a well equipped kitchen. Simply but tastefully furnished throughout. We stayed 8 days and were very sad to leave. Who wants chain motels when you can stay here.We are already planning next years trip and will stay longer!!
Owner response:Dear "Newmarket, England" - Your high praise for the Cottage and your repeat patronage are such a pleasure to hear. In appreciation, Rosemary, owner

We were in Rosemary's cottage from 23 - 27 july 2011 and we had a wonderful time. Close to the Yellowstonepark and a splendid place to be after a day with hiking and doing many things in the park. A beautiful cottage and clean too! It was pretty to sit in the garden with the flowers around us. We want to recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit Yellowstone, so we will tell this to our friends here in Holland.

We are 2 adults with 3 kids who called with short notice to book a 2-night stay. We noticed that this property had a hole in their schedule and we wanted to be closer to Yellowstone than we were. I have run into many vacation rental agents won't bother with such short stays because they make little money on it. What those agents forget is that their job is to maximize profits for the owner. Kristin took our booking and everything was in order when we arrived. It was hard to find lodging with such short notice and we really appreciate that we could stay there. The property has a very nice backyard, a front porch that I used as an office while the others slept and was very convenient to the park. The shop across the street (Flying Pig) was very helpful, even though we ended up not doing either riding or rafting with them. A good place to stay, and the price was reasonable.
Owner response:I'm delighted you were able to make use of the foyer or porch as an office; it works well that way with the wireless connection. I appreciate your stay at the Cottage. Rosemary, owner

I stayed at this quaint place during off season. Lucked out with very comfortable weather and minimal road noise except for the weekend (but I was up early, so it was a non-issue). Similar to the other comments, this quaint home provides a peaceful, clean, private, and easy base for launching into the the park. Some details not included in other reviews... the linens and bedding had generous loft, and the bed was thankfully firm after hiking all day. Plenty of cookware and dinnerware to create meals, along with clean fridge and appliances. Shower water pressure was fine, and washer and dryer were a blessing! The sunroom was stocked with reading material, including local info. Unless you have experience with bear encounters, I would leave the complimentary can of bear spray on the shelf. Street parking in front of the home is very easy (in September) and you're within walking distance of "downtown" Gardiner restaurants. While the absence of TV wasn't an issue, for those of us a bit more connected via technology, the lack of internet connex was a minor hurdle. Might as well note that property manager responded promptly and was accommodating. Neighborhood is a mix of residences, rentals, and adventure companies - one gal next door came over to introduce herself, thinking I had just moved in. Now that's a temptation. ;^) My tip for a Yellowstone visit (assuming daylight allows): get in the entrance by 7:30am and/or visit Mammoth after 6pm. Most are either still in bed or grabbing dinner.
Owner response:I'm pleased to report that wireless internet is now available at the Cottage - and delighted you enjoyed your stay! With appreciation for your patronage, Rosemary (Owner)

The website photos and description were an accurate portrayal of the property. Very clean, comfortable, homey. Like coming "home". Very nice back yard with grill and deck was a nice amenity. The street is very busy for a town of maybe 200 people, but it is a gate to Yellowstone and it the traffic dies down at night. There is a TV but it is just for watching DVDs. There is no satellite or cable. This was OK for me, but others might miss it.

A delightful place to stay in Yellowstone. If you're going to rent a house in the area, always stay close to the North Entrance. If you stay further down the Yellowstone Valley, in one of the recently-built tourist cabins, you'll get overcharged and get a place with all the charm of an airport hotel in Detroit, with 600 pictures of trout on the wall. Stay here instead.

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay at Rosemary's Cottage from June 28 - July 4. The accomodations were clean and fully stocked with plush towels, all kitchen utensils and comfy bed. Gardiner is a pretty little "cowboy" town and Rosemary's Cottage is right on the main drag. We were able to walk across the street to meet our rafting trip and were walking distance to good eating and of course beautiful scenery. When we first arrived at the house, we pulled around the back as it said there was parking there. When we pulled around I was greatly disappointed in what the backyard looked like. But then we pulled around the front, parked in front of the house and realized we were originally at the wrong one. This place was beautiful and the moment you open the back door you are surrounded by the most breathtaking flowers. The backyard is a lovely sanctuary. We were minutes from the North entrance to Yellowstone and spent many happy days in the park, with the pleasure of returning each evening to Rosemary's slice of heaven. We hope to return again one day and would recommend highly to anyone thinking of staying here.
Owner response:Sandra- Your compliments about the garden are a pleasure to hear as I enjoy cultivating it. Much appreciate your business. Rosemary, Owner

We stayed five nights in Rosemary's cottage, and it was the perfect base for Yellowstone activities. We drank our coffee in the garden every morning used the grill every evening. Although the daytime temperatures were in the 80's, with a window fan the house was very comfortable in the evenings. We would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful time at Rosemary's cottage (6/14 to 6/17). The location was perfect, close to the Yellowstone entrance and to all other facilities. The cottage itself was comfortable and perfectly suited to our needs. The small garden in the back of the house a blissful oasis every evening we came home, plenty of color, solitude and privacy punctuated only by the birds. Thank you so much for everything, for helping us take back lovely memories of Yellowstone and the little cottage on Scott Street, painted against the blue mountains and the big sky.

We had the pleasure of being the first guests to stay at Rosemary's Cottage (16 May - 23 May 2009) and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Its location is ideal for exploring Yellowstone National Park and we found the location very quiet despite being on the main thoroughfare. The cottage is comfortable and very light and airy. We were able to enjoy the gazebo, BBQ and the garden. The supermarket down the road is well stocked and a short walk away. The town is also within walking distance.
