This upscale, luxury townhouse is less than 16 yards from the water's edge of the Gulf of Mexico. The rooms of the condo are oversized, having 1,400 square feet of interior living area. Each floor has a large walk around deck with panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico on one side and the heated pool on the other. The master bedroom has a King bed with an open water view. The second bedroom has a Queen and Twin bed. There is a Queen pull-out bed from a sofa on the first floor.
Local zoning rules allow 6 people to reside in the condo. This is strictly enforced.
The large, 6 boat dock is located at the mouth of the Key Vaca Cut giving immediate access to both the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. Use of the dock is first come first serve. A boat ramp is located within view of the condo. Parking is restricted to under the condo. There is parking under the condo for two vehicles or one vehicle and a boat trailer. If more parking is needed, renters may pay purchase additional off site rental space for their boat trailer with third party providers.
High speed Internet access is provided at the condo.
Renters have access to three bikes, full beach gear such as an umbrella, chairs, mats, and toys, fishing poles, some snorkeling gear and pool accessories. Even board games are provided.

Why the Owner Chose Marathon
We chose to buy at this location for several reasons. The condo is located in the middle of the Keys and within a short drive to all points of interest. It is a one hour drive to either Key West or Key Largo. Many interesting activities are close by. The Dolphin Research Center, turtle hospital, state parks, hiking areas, and the abandoned 7 Mile Bridge recreation area are just a few. Many locally owned restaurants are within walking distance.
The condo entrance is situated on the Marathon bike path which is about 100 yards from the Key Colony Beach bikeway. Several lovely beaches are within a short drive. Each has a unique personality. The condo complex has five buildings with four townhouse condos in each one. The grounds of the complex are well maintained, secluded, quiet, and sparsely inhabited. The floors and walls of the condos are thick concrete. The huge dock is located at the mouth of the Vaca Cut. The cut is the opening between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. The current runs through the cut different directions with the changing of the tides. This makes for great fishing off the dock. The large heated pool is less than a thirty second walk from the condo. Pelican's Perch condo is closer to Havanna, Cuba than Miami Florida. This location is unique and desireable.
The Unique Benefits at this Condominium
The unique benefits of Pelican's Perch condo are plentiful. The condo is a coveted outside unit facing the Gulf of Mexico. It is located on the east side of a point 16 yards from the water's edge. When it is calm renters enjoy sitting on the elevated decks watching marine life swim by the condo. The view is open water in the center and left with the right view being shoreline. The night view is enhanced by the festive lights of a restaurant across a bay about a quarter mile away giving definition to the shoreline. It is important that the decks have morning sun and afternoon shade. The prevailing easterly winds blow across the water and cool the shaded decks making it a comfortable place to sit even on the most warm and humid days. It is heaven on earth. The condo is well maintained and updated. Recent updates include new windows, carpet, washer, dryer, 3 flat screen combination TV/DVD players, and painting. We appreciate the many positive reviews and comments we have received from our renters about the condition of the condo and their renting experiences.
Owner's Map of Marathon
Our family is comprised of a French/Spanish high school teacher, public servant, air force officer, and college student. We fell in love with the Florida Keys during scuba diving trips. The multi-colored Caribbean water, weather, fantastic marine and wild life, great local restaurants, places to see, and quirky personality of the Keys hooked us!
